Yeah if I ever rewatch the Bourne trilogy I'll probably be annoyed by that too. Teen me liked those movies and thought it was cool but meh. The movies were also spaced several years apart so watching them back to back will make you notice how samey they are I suspect.

Also I forgot what treadstone and black briar even were in relation to each other.

Yeah this was annoying too. Honestly I only watched it because I saw Alicia Vikander and went "omg she's in this I have to see it then"

My favorite part is her wearing those white tennis shoes instead of somebody uncomfortable like heels

Peter dinklage as tyrion is perfect in more ways than one, I'm expecting to like him just as much as I do in the books.

The jaime actor looks familiar, is he related to the blonde guy from true blood? He has a similar look. I immediately hate him just as much as I do in the books so good job on the actor's part.

But lol at Fred fucking Flintstone playing Robert Baratheon, the first of his name. They got the fat part right at least

The rest of the cast and episode is pretty good.

Omg the girl they got to play arya is perfect, that is exactly the kind of tomboy personality that drives her mother to exasperation. Cat is super old here though like damn. I know they aged up the characters but even the adults too. Sansa is alright. The book character is already not given much to do besides being violently abused so there's not much to gauge yet.

Lena heady as cersei is interesting so far, she definitely has a queenly vibe since ages ago.

Sorry I dont mean to get worked up over it but its just built up in my head so much. This is the first time that I'll be watching something where I've read the original source material so I should know better that its not always 1:1

I Like the casting for bran so far but wtf they totally ruined the direwolves scene from the book! In the book jon convinces ned to let the 5 direwolves live and go home with bran and Robb and his other trueborn children, while sacrificing himself, and it was a heartfelt scene from bran's point of view.

Then after, jon finds a 6th direwolf, away from the pack, an albino direwolf with snow white fur and red eyes. Theon scoffs and says "an albino, this one will die before the rest"

And jon looks at him coldly and says "I think not, greyjoy. This one belongs to me"

This scene literally sets up jon's character, and is a fundamental part of why I loved jon (at least in book 1) and in this episode instead what we got was a dumb faced guy meant to be jon with the derpiest expression as theon says to him "the runt of the litter. This one's yours snow"

Wtf. This is the very first moment in the books and its literally what hooked me into the series, just how good that scene was playing out.

First impressions:

Damn they did the prologue scene from the books, they revealed those blued eyed snow zombies. Pretty much exactly how I imagined them.

First episode: winter is coming

Luckily I know most of the big events thanks to the books so there's no worry of being spoiled except after book 5 please.

Things I already knew:

• Sean bean is playing eddard stark. This actually spoiled his death for me when reading the books since I knew he was going to die, its Sean bean. Luckily I was still managed to be shocked/surprised because I didn't expect him to die right in the first freaking book (but man was he a noble idiot)

• There are dragons (wish this one would have surprised me but it was still epic/sad how it was done, dany losing her baby and husband and from the ashes, gaining new children ie dragons)

auto tune is ubiquitous in the music industry today, almost every album you heard since the late 90s would have been produced with some sort of pitch correction, or auto tune

if its done well you wont even be able to tell

I might need an example because I'm not sure if what I'm thinking of is autotune. Is it that annoying high pitched robotic sound that some singers do in their songs, like Britney spears in toxic that one portion of the chorus

People were somehow surprised at T-Pain's natural voice and found out not only can he actually sing he's also very multi talented. That and he's genuinely a down to earth and nice guy

When usually DC is famous for its father complex with the main characters like Thomas Wayne for batman or both Johnathan Kent and Jorah El for superman.

Don't know what marvel focused on pre mcu but they took DC's father thing with Tony obsessing over his relationship with his dad, black panther trying to make up for his dad's mistakes, and thor's relationship with odin.

Probably just another case of DC trying to distinguish themselves from marvel and go in the opposite direction

Yeah there was absolutely no reason to tie it in but it was during that phase when they were pushing Renner to take over as the new action star for movies like mission impossible or Bourne and the originals tom cruise and Matt Damon were like "oh hell naw"

There's a difference between using autotune to cover up mistakes and using autotune as an instrument in and of itself.

T-Pain for sure does the latter.

Mostly because I've noticed that most asmrtists that also do porn and nudity tend to be either really old or ugly, yet this girl is neither, she's pretty damn attractive.

The Bourne legacy with Jeremy Renner was weirdly better, or at least I enjoyed it more for what it is. Doesn't hurt that Rachel Weisz is in it (just finished a mummy kick)

I used to be really into the Bourne trilogy but they haven't held up that well especially the annoying shaky cam and quick cuts making terrible fight scenes.

This movie in particular is quite bad though. Also lol at them bringing back Julia stiles just to kill her off. Reminds me of scream 3 existing just to kill off randy.

That's pushing it, the kid's acting was okay but it wasn't nearly as good John Connor, that role is pretty iconic/high bar

That's the second biggest mistake of this movie. They tried to make each member of the main trio into some kind of destined/chosen one archetype, which really diluted the feeling of the first movie when they were just treasure hunters/archaeologists who set upon an adventure together because of circumstance. Now O'Connell is supposedly a Medjai, Evie is the reincarnation of Nefertiri, and Johnathan just so happens to be in possession of the ONE SPECIFIC ARTIFACT that's needed in order to kill the Scorpion King...and to top off the nonsense, they came up with the contrived scenario where a bunch of dudes fight a bunch of CGI dogmen in some random spot of the desert with no significant dramatical payoff.

Of course, I did say the attempt at fleshing out the lore was the second biggest mistake.

The biggest mistake was positioning the kid as a major character. He was really hard to tolerate.

Honestly it's one of those movies that's a ton of fun to watch, with endearing writing, a cool premise, charming leads, and good action...but a few of the missteps really fuck up the experience.

I agree with all of this. For me even the kid isn't as bad as them being reincarnations of whomever. Like were was Brendan Fraser's medjay tattoo in the first one?
