It's still going, and the gameplay/mechanics are good. It has been around for a long time so I won't be surprised if it gets shut down but no way to know for sure.

Physical version of the Snow Giant fight is harder for me than magic, as usual. Delita's damage is great but Noctis isn't getting close to cap most of the time. And Balthier's not contributing much damage early since I was trying to save his awakening for the end of the fight (plus he doesn't have enough SB since his glint is just 250 instead of 500). His imperiling is good though, I got up to max imperil before switching to his 7 hit HA for a while. I think I need to try a different character instead of Noctis, so probably Edge... although Locke has some advantages too, and I also have two awakenings for Barret.

This Palace of Illusion is way better than the average Sunday event. Much better rewards too... I hope we get more of these.

Better than most of my recent draws. I have a stacked Fran, although I would probably still use Celes or Laguna for my chain, but at least it's new.

I got my magic Snow Giant clear. Had him down to 2% when Terra and Vincent both got confused. Papalymo got one attack to bring him to 0.6%, then we got Labyrinth Maze Gated, but Odin saved the day and dealt the last hit to finish him off.

First few attempts on Snow Giant didn't go that great, this guy hits hard. Also I fell asleep and forgot to counter his buff in p2 for two turns. Getting an AI thread would help.

I'm pretty optimistic - magic team has 6 cap breaks (one ATB sync for Papalymo), gen 2 chain and two LBO options, with Cait for support. Phy team is a little weaker but has 6 cap breaks counting a Dyad, and gen 2.5 chain for Balthier. I'm kinda thinking of honing Delita's awakening since he's strong in 4 elements but has no dyads/awoken dyads coming in the next six months. I'll only do it if I need to to beat this fight though.

Anyway, when it comes to magicites I'm too lazy to optimize to that extent. I just tried to build a set that would work pretty well together and now I rarely think about it all that much aside from making sure I have the right stat boost (attack or magic) and don't have like 4 HP boons or something.

I've been trying to do XII Dragonking with what I have but I haven't had much success. I started with my typical Orran team, but his strengths seem less relevant when Vaan and Fran can both give themselves instant cast (Vaan USB1, Fran Sync) or high quickcast (Fran Awakening). So I tried Quina to get more damage from crit fixing but I can't keep her alive. So far my best run just got him down to 45%.

Vaan with a shirt looks suspiciously like Squall. Anyway, I'm definitely tempted to pull again but I really want 10 pulls on winter fest + 2 on the winter fest sync select banner. So I can't afford any more between now and then. Guess I'll just throw my tickets at XII for a while.

Well, did one more pull and got Basch's sync and Balthier's dyad. Basch's sync would be good if I had another BDL for him but since I don't I think he still doesn't make the team over Vaan. Balthier's dyad will help some, would have rather had the sync or awakening but it's better than nothing.

That's a good point, I'm way farther behind on Bahamuts than I am on elemental Labyrinth. Next fest doesn't have much help for me though. I haven't beaten V yet but I really don't need more Bartz stuff, I need someone else in the realm to carry some weight. The first banner with Fang + Y'shtola's healing sync probably helps me the most with 2 Bahamuts. But the banner I like the most is 5 mostly because of favoritism.

The most interesting part to me is that they can't combo with awakened modes that have the same name but they can combo with awakened modes that have different names. So for example Bartz's dyad awakening with "Dual Awoken Spellblade Mode" can't combo with all his awoken spellblade awakenings, but it can combo with his awoken zephyr awakening.

Out of the winter fest dyads, the ones that can combo are Garnet, Bartz, Kain, and Yuffie. Garnet is the only one who can tack a dualcast on to her DAASB (although her DAASB by itself is only dualcast while most are triple cast)

Congrats! And yeah, initially you need to beat 1 magic, 1 physical, plus 6 of either version to break the level cap on the first two. Then you just need to beat each element twice (phy and mag) and inherit those seals onto your level 99 copies. Also if you can't beat both versions of an element you can do the same version twice and inherit those (there's no requirement for physical/magic to match the one you're inheriting too) - although you'll want to beat both versions eventually for the other rewards.

Labyrinth group N is fire again and has a pretty good group of characters. Terra, Gilgamesh, Auron, Papalymo, Balthier, Jack, Zell, Delita, and Refia. Still nothing for my boy Vivi though.

I guess you can also "save" party setups by recording the individual members as Hero Outfits, the system they've built isn't unredeemable, but it is annoying.

You can also just save them as regular teams. I don't really get the point of the hero outfits, or at least not as people use them for labyrinth. I should probably use them more especially for characters who have hero equipment to make party building faster.

I did not hone Edge's awakening yet, and I think he's better for magic than physical. He might be on my magic team, he's competing with Terra for the second spot behind Papalymo. I guess I could maybe hone Edge and use him for both fights...

For chaining I currently have csb+awakening for Gilgamesh and Balthier. I'm also planning a pull on the XII banner so hopefully I'll get something else for Balthier (although I'd rather use Greg, there are no chances to get his sync any time soon).

Probably the second one (heal and party quickcast) is more useful than the first one (protectga, shellga, and 30% stoneskin).

Now that fest and BiOdin are over the next things to look forward to are the fire labyrinth and the anima lens refresh. Since I missed on new Locke/Edge cap breaks for fest I'm not totally sure who should be on my fire team. I have Sync+Awakening and no other cap breaks for Locke, Edge, Noctis, and Delita. I'm leaning towards the last two, but Locke has some points in his favor: hero equipment, his limit guardian, some useful G+ and USBs that imperil. His biggest downside is his abilities do crappy damage. Noctis and Delita both have nice self-critfixing, and Noctis has an ATB sync.

I've got nothing against Krile but she'd probably need her sync and dyad to break into my magic fire team (I just have her awakening). And to use her in realm I'd need some stuff for Gogo in order to run a mage team there.

Yeah, I didn't bother crafting it either since it's so weak. The regular machinist ability does more damage, more hits, and imperils for 3 times as long (but only 1/2 the time).

Did two more pulls:
1/11 - dupe Kefka AASB
3/11 - another stupid Kefka AASB, Edgar sync, Quistis dyad

Ugh, hate Kefka even more now after he spammed my pulls. But the Edgar sync should help especially since it's a bio armor (I have two now).

BTW is it just me or is Edgar's HA pretty crappy? I mean the imperiling effect is nice, but 3x1.0 is completely terrible damage.

I beat Bio Odin! Dark Odin that is, never did him before so he was the warm up.

So far just did one pull on the banner, got Quistis AASB (yay) and Kefka AASB (eww). I'll probably need more but I figured I'd give it a try with what I have.

I'm definitely going to try! I have both Thief awakenings and one awakening for Edgar. (Also Thancred but I doubt he makes the team). Preliminary team is Thief, Edgar, Quistis, Quina, and Elarra. That gives no Achromatic Aegis counter though so I might need to sub in Orran for Quina. My Quistis is pretty useless aside from chaining so I hope I draw something for her, and for Edgar and/or Thief. Getting relics for Kefka or Leila would be kinda awkward.

Hmm. Well, disappointing fest so far and that might be my last pull. We'll see how bio banner goes tomorrow, but I also want to save at least two pulls for the XII event and maybe 1-2 half priced 6A revival pulls if we get those. One more fest stamp does get me a USB though.

Yeah, I realized I had Paine's sync but had no idea it worked like this until you mentioned it. I tested it on the d450 torment (figured it would have enough HP to take some hits but not so much damage resistance I couldn't cap). It does seem to work as expected, but I was getting doublecasts and had some hits for 59999. It's extremely powerful and made me realize I've been using Paine's sync wrong, so thanks.

Are you sure? The community spreadsheet and the in-game text both say raise the user's cap break level for 1 turn. So technically it's stacking but you can't stack more than one, unless I'm missing something.

I think you have to rank Vivi above Braska right? Braska's sync just gets double cap break as long as you use command 1. Vivi also effectively gets double cap break and massive damage bonuses, but with his sync being more awkward to use. Having to use c2 and then c1 delays his damage, although sometimes that's also an advantage (he can basically store up casts during the 5 second damage reduction stages).

Whew, I beat Armor Construct. At 4.6% I lost Rydia, Edge, and Cait Sith, but Golbez was able to get off the two attacks he needed to finish the fight. At the end Rosa and Golbez both had empty HP bars but a win's a win!

The one who really cares about having a full Dawn Warriors party is Xezat, and Xezat AASB gives such a team 100% Crit and Crit Damage Up on entry for free. So, he does indeed cover your support requirements. (You'd also want a healer with quick cast, ideally, because Xezat AASB only gives two turns of that.)

Lucky that Lenna's brave USB gives quickcast and is an amazing healing SB!
