Youre not necessarily allergic to most molds. Pennicilium is different than penicillin even though they sound similar.

As a kid, I got "serum sickness" from penicillin. It was pretty terrible. Couldn't walk or eat or anything. Then a steroid injection and I was fine within minutes.

No idea if I'm still allergic but I've never gotten an allergy test as an adult. I may have grown out of it. I was also not allergic to poison ivy as a kid and have no interest in testing if that's still true either.
