There's supposed to be news coming in the next few months, and last time Yoshi-P spoke about it he said there would be a release date next time he shows it off. So I assume it's coming this year.

OK, I just remembered that they announced a delay so I couldn't remember if that pushed it out of 2022.

What has changed?

I haven't been there since my wedding in 2010 so a lot from my point of view. They went through the whole change to the Fast Pass since where you had to make ride reservations way in advance and now they've scrapped that for Lightning Lanes, which I originally thought was closer to Universal's Express pass, but now it seems like you STILL need to do reservations and it has the same problems as the old Fast Pass but you pay more for it. (This is second hand based on stories from my brother, who lives there.)

In general they've also just continually raised the prices while also reducing the quality of a lot of the offerings.

Honestly it has changed so much in recent years that I don't really feel bad not going back.

Obama made an attempt and did drastically reduce the number of prisoners, but he faced opposition that made closing it difficult. Trump signed an executive order to keep the camp open, but Biden can pretty much just reverse that and he has already said he intends to close it before the end of his term, although he'll likely face some of the same opposition Obama did.

That actually was by the book, which was the problem. Even the judge at the time said the sentence wasn't commensurate with the crime, but he was bound by sentencing guidelines that mandated some sentences had to be served consecutively.

He wasn't a guest, he worked for a cleaning service contracted by the zoo and he went into an off limits area after the zoo was closed.

So probably serving the sentences currently rather than consecutively.

Dude honestly what would happen if I did come into a lot of money that would allow me to retire, would most likely be working in a small box store. Not owning or managing, just a normal employee working there. I mean my last job I was making a killing doing almost nothing but the most pleasurable job I ever had was being a key holder for a gamestop right after highschool

I don't see why holding a shop lifter could lead them to be sued, like sure if they beat him half to death but that's not the same as merely holding someone until the police get there

The biggest risk is that trying to stop a shoplifter leads to a confrontation and someone gets injured or killed.

Even places with security frequently just use them as a deterrent rather than actually trying to stop people. Most places just don't tend to have expensive enough stuff sitting out that it is worth the risk when a single liability suit can run into the millions. We just ran a report every month and sent a 'shrinkage' number to corporate and nobody ever said anything. About the only thing they probably use that figure for is deciding if they should close a particular store.

Ok, I have found some information by checking the internet.

First the $500 thing is for it to be a felony, any amount can be a misdemeanor, and can cause you to have a criminal record, so there is that.

I'm still doing research but again, anyone who knows more about this, chime in!! I'll probaby find it all out eventually online but real life experience is awesome too.

The legal side is going to vary greatly depending on where you are, since this isn't federal law. I can say that even when I worked retail at Gamestop back in the early 90's they told us to not try and stop shoplifters. Basically we should be out and about on the floor to discourage casual shoplifting, but even if someone set off the alarm on the way out we weren't supposed to do anything.

I was an actual manager for a couple years, I don't miss it. I don't mind the day to day stuff, but the administrative things like reviews and performance management is the bane of my existence. I don't even like doing my own performance reviews...which reminds me that I still haven't done mine for this year.

I have zero interest in the new Matrix movie, so I went with Spider-Man even though I'm not sure if I'll actually see it in the theater.

This is the first one we missed since they started it. Just didn't seem like a great time to go hang out in a packed convention center.

Its funny, for as much as I loved Top Gear I don't think I've even seen the whole first season of Grand Tour. I remember liking what I did watch, I just somehow never went back and finished watching it.

Atari ended because they manufactured too many copies and didn't sell them, not because they sold too many.

I'm sure they know only a certain percentage of those sales will remain as long term customers and so it doesn't make sense to dramatically scale up their server infrastructure.

It was pretty much pure luck that I happened to be pretty close to where the finish line spawned. I'm still not entirely sure how I won because some guy passed me when I got spun around at one point, I have no idea where he went because nobody was around when I got to the finish. Best guess is he had something less offroad friendly and was trying to stick to the roads while I just went flat out in a straight line.

Holy crap, I just won a game of The Eliminator. I never thought that would happen.

Yeah, but it is very spread out, which makes it tough to see at a glance what cars you can get from Accolades or ones that overlap where you have to do it in a certain car.

Considering there was an interactive map with all of the bonus and XP boards within the first week I was just surprised nobody had done a sortable Accolades list.
