I don't understand why he takes this as a personal slight.

Does it just make him feel old?

It's him using a small minority of fans being demanding to make people pity him instead of just admitting the books cant be finished.

Just admit the books are unfinishable and you tied yourself into a knot with too many characters and plot threads.

How is that news or intelligent debate or useful for the interests of the public?

It's just childish shouting

These are still some of the same people who insisted the Iraq invasion was a great idea and anyone who said otherwise was an anti-american defeatist. If they had any dignity they would have stepped away years ago

Had a similar experience but what I did at first was completely ignore materia. I was like yeah this seems annoying why bother with this. That worked up to the Shinra HQ elevator bosses where I just didn't have enough firepower to beat them, then realized maybe I shouldn't have ignored it and had to start the whole game over cause there was no way to adjust it where I'd saved.

Yeah. It's always easier to make the first seasons of these sorts of shows than when you have to actually resolve the mysteries.

That opening scene though was pretty awesome.

Don't use Summons? Game is really easy

It had some decently hard parts for me since it was my very first JRPG. I got stuck on a few bosses like the demon wall. I didn't use any guides(except to get Yuffie and Vincent, both of whom I didn't get till disc 3 because I had no idea they were hidden..and was confused because they were in the instruction manual but nowhere to be found!) so I didn't have KOTR or any of the other fancy stuff. I just barely beat Safer Seph in the end with a mini'd vincent casting my last charge of Bahamut Zero.

Then on later runs I got all the fancy stuff and could beat it all with my eyes closed!!
