There are several obvious ways to further that goal, like guaranteeing housing to all, making healthcare single payer, investing in much better public infrastructure, improving working conditions via unions, and fighting climate change.

Yeah but the statement i made that you disagreed with was that "any American can live a good and comfortable life with a little effort ". In my mind, that meant a roof over your head and a full belly every night.

This is laughably inaccurate. Our awful healthcare system alone leads to many lives being ruined when unexpected medical issues arise. People can lose their homes when their source of income is cut off out of their control. Lots of people live without air conditioning in hot summers.

I don't claim they are absolutely the same. I can say without doubt that my personal life has been better under republican leadership than democratic ones which is probably due to economic policy but I still have enough money either way to not particularly care.
