Still, I think having the right touch is key. I think a lot of parents don't really see the end goal of discipline. If you do it wrong you end up with a rebellious kid who just resents you and probably ramps up their bad behavior as a means of defiance.

Like emphasizing why you had to resort to searching their room less so that you needed to. It was their choice to recognize your concern about what's going on in their life and their choice to continue to hide whatever it is you had to search for.

Even as I type this, though, I also process that some kids simply won't get it and see any invasion of their space as a parent who doesn't want them to enjoy their life. We're all different people, some people are just attracted to trouble. Sad truth.

Honestly, if you know who your kids have been hanging around and suspect that they're getting into some shady shit, you should have every right to search their room once you start thinking they're dodging you.

Basically give them a chance to cop to it and read their response. There should be telltale signs that they're lying or being subversive and that's when it's warranted.

But according to a TI-99/4A rarity list, some TI-99/4A games I once owned were "extremely rare": Red Baron Flight Simulator, Breakthrough, TI Toad and Burger Builder.

I personally feel like somewhere in between. I have my own house (completely paid off) but it's through an inheritance.
