Have you tried Another Eden? That's a turn-based RPG from one of the guys who worked on Chrono Trigger. I don't know if it's on iOS though.

Anyone still play Girls Frontline here? The Val-Ha11a collab is coming back next (?) month, I think, so now's a good time to get yer robot eschelons in order. This was the banner the last time:

SInce Dual Randomness starts at the end of this month and runs for four weeks, the Vallhalla collab rerun is more likely to start in March.

And cheers for advertising one of the three games I play!

Are you guys participating in the Arknights 2nd anniversary web page event? It starts today.

https://2ndanniv.arknights.global/

You can at least log in and do the Cake Adornment Program and the Dossoles Warrior Champion interviews. In the former, press one of the social media share buttons (you don't have to actually share anything) to add cake ingredients, then collect your two stickers for the day, and finally use your points to exchange for in-game stuff.

In the latter, just read the short interview and choose a response that you think the reporter should say. You'll get 600 Orundum for every interview and furniture for doing this for all the interviews.

There's also an event where you make a postcard with the web editor (really simple), a social media drawing, a photo/video contest, and a fanart contest.

Even if you don't care about the contests, there's at least free in-game stuff to be collected.

I haven't done any Arknights pulls in months, so I'm now at 120,000 Orundum, 43 HH Tickets, and 8 10-pull tickets. I think I'm covered for the Chalter banner.

...Maybe even the NTR Night banner while I'm at it! lol

Yep, it's a slog and definitely one medal per 5 stamina. The good news is that, if you want to get everything, you only need to grind out 320 medals, which takes a grand total of 1,600 Sanity. That's pretty low for an event.

If you want it to go faster, garrison all four stations and grind the final map with all four special enemies. That will take 35 Sanity and give you 7 medals per run (3 for beating the stage, 1 for each Hymnoi Hero you kill).

This is mostly a collection of game PVs with some commentary sprinkled in between. I'll give you the timestamps if you wanna skip the commentary and jump right to the PVs to see what the games are about.

https://youtu.be/RX8-4mLhtjM

Aether Gazer - 1:22
Ex Astris - 3:55
Project Snow (Final game title TBD) - 5:22
Reverse: 1999 - 8:18 (English VAs!)
Ring of Fire: Prometheus - 10:52
Honkai: Star Rail - 13:39
Torchlight: Infinite - 15:35
Thrud - 17:18

Most of these look pretty good but Aether Gazer straight up looks like a PGR rip-off. It's made by Yongshi, the devs of Azur Lane.

Ex Astris is made by Hypergryph, the devs of Arknights. It's a "narrative-focused" premium 3D RPG. The premium means you pay for the game upfront instead of it being F2P. The expectation with that is that it won't have a gacha system.

Project Snow is an anime 3rd person shooter. As the temporary name suggests, it's still being developed.

Reverse: 1999 is a turn-based RPG with a card-based battle system.

Ring of Fire: Prometheus is a 2.5D pixel art/voxel style ARPG/beat-'em up.

Torchlight: Infinite is an isometric action game, like Diablo, but looks more like League of Legends to me.

Thrud is an anime 3D shmup in the vein of Panzer Dragoon.

I finished powering up my Plume. The only things from this point that will increase her BP would be pulling for more copies to increase her rank above S and farming materials to hypertune her memories. The first option won't be in the budget for a long time, so I'll work on the second as I farm materials.

Back in Arknights, I used to spend Originite Prime on pulls instead on sanity refresh. Genuine stupidity right there.

It's fine to do that as long as it's in moderation (and only when you really need it) and you're not F2P. I do agree with the general sentiment -- BarkBalls are better spent on other things.

I missed the 100% banner. I started playing only a week ago. I actually still don't have her, so at most my original post should have said "trying"....

Thanks for the input and info, though! I'm aware now that she will have better odds in the 70% banner next month (I believe it starts on the 20th?)

I'm happy to help. Head over to the PGR board here and you can get a lot of info to help you have a better time in the game. I'll answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability.

And you're correct, the Veritas + Ember rotation banner starts on the 20th next month. Unlike Arknights banners, the rate-up isn't split between the two; you pick the character from the banner that gets the 70% rate-up.

Also, here's my ID number in the game. Feel free to add me if you want.

Wasted $400 on Punishing Gray Raven to get Bianca Veritas....

Ouch! Did you just start playing and miss her debut banner or its rerun? Did you pull on the standard banner for her? I'm not trying to chastise you, just trying to understand what happened. Yeah, it would have been better to pull for Plume while she is having her 100% debut banner, then let her hard carry you while you catch up and get a better banner (Veritas in a rotation banner -- there will be one next month -- or anniversary, where every S character has a 100% rate) and save a lot of money in the process.

Anyway, that aside, I hope you enjoy playing Veritas. She's a lot of fun! I'm glad I bought that skin for her; I'm really liking it. I just need to get enough event currency to get her weapon skin...

Hanna is better than Zuwen. Zuwen given to other team members for them to proc instead.

It's ok to use 4 Hanna 2 Darwin but 2 Einsteina is better for now.

Resonating Einsteina is fine, there's more than enough time to build 2 Darwins when it's needed next time.

6 Core instead of 6 Signature is also an option for people tryharding Pain Cage.

How's everyone's Twilight of Wolumonde rerun going? I had to alter some of my autos, the old ones were no longer stable, but I was able to take care of all the Burnt Offerings missions again and get all the rewards. All that's left is farming! :)

Funkydog posted...
Be careful with that, as macros are annoyingly a banable offence on Arknights. They really need a better auto or a skip function though, I agree. Fucking asinine that you have to manually repeat a stage like this.

Yeah, that's why I avoid using macros like the plague. I just pretend that feature doesn't exist, since nearly every mobile game specifically outlines that as a bannable thing. You can, however, usually set up keyboard bindings with no problem though as it's a vital accessibility feature. I use that to set up all kinds of things since my laptop doesn't have a touchscreen. A mouse isn't two hands, after all. You can also set up a game controller with better precision for games where that would be helpful.

While my stage autos in Arknights or when farming in GFL, I just switch my virtual desktop over and look at a web browser or do other stuff while I wait for it to finish, checking in at about a minute or two. There's no need to constantly hover over the game for these tasks.

The other thing you can do on an emulator is set up monitoring programs, if the community developed one for that game and if it does not interfere with the normal functions of the game or do anything other than listen for incoming data and report on that. A good example is GFL Alarm. If used properly/normally, there's no way for the developers to pick up on you using it and all it does is put all of the available info the game normally provides in one spot.

Got my first 1,000,000+ score in the Pain Cage and obtained the Medal of Millions. I usually don't bother with the Hell difficulty but I was having a good run this week, so I thought "What the hell, why not?"

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/9/8/6/AACGMdAACtF6.jpg

Vassago was the easiest; I tore through it with Bianca Veritas (lightning weakness). Roland was easy with Alpha bursting him, he's weak to physical damage, but I ate one of his Tarzan swings, which reduced my score to 175k. Iron Maiden took the longest because I don't have a dark element attacker raised. I'll need to focus on bringing up Watanabe Astral to speed until Luna arrives. I don't have Kamui Tenebrion, sadly, or else he would have worked too.

I read that the requirement to open up the EX Pain Cage is a score of 1,000,000+ in the Advanced Pain Cage. I don't know if I'll have to do it again when EX is available or if the game will check to see if you have the medal and you don't have to get a high score again.

Oh yay Ive never actually used a code yet in PGR

It's been a while since we last got one. This one is from the half-year anniversary video that was released today. SInce it has one really annoying part in it in particular, and the Pulao avatar talks like a Pokemon ("nyanyanya"), I'll spare you the video link and just type out what was in it. You'll thank me later! lol

-Kowloong Metropolis trailer (with one content creator I've never heard of giving commentary in the most forced and awkward way possible; that part with him was really cringy and annoying). I'm sure the trailer by itself will be uploaded soon (sans commentary), so I'll share that when it's ready.

-Rexlant gives a basic crash course on how Lucia Plume works. He said on his community page that a more comprehensive guide will go up soon, so I'll share that too when it's ready since Rex's guides are actually good.

-A sneak peak of future content and features for the next six months:
  1. Grand Blue in January 2022
  2. Firn Night in March
  3. Lost Chapter in April
  4. Fake Ascension in May
  5. Shows off a peak of the upcoming guild system, The World boss in Firn Night, a "Monopoly-like" mini game (gives gacha tickets -- looks like the dice and track mini-game from Azur Lane), a better tutorial in Fake Ascension, some branded mousepad/keyboard pad and gaming mouse merch that will go up for sale soon, and an early ad for the Nier collab.
Looks like we'll get the Nier collab at around global's first anniversary, just like the JPN server did recently.

I wonder if I should pull for her. Was there a list of the order that the banners are being released in?

Also I need to up my smartitude regarding the dorm. Everyday I just send them to do chores, pat, make 3 items, and put said items in a dorm. I would like to make my dorms be even slightly aesthetically pleasing but I'm too smartless :<

But hooray my new laptop came in and it's so much better than my super old one that was literally falling apart. I can finally use Bluestacks without games taking like 20 seconds to load every time I click somewhere lol. So now I can do grindy auto games like Arknights and Azur Lane while I play other games on my phone :3

It's highly advisable that you do pull for her. She's the only ice element attacker in the game, even on the CN server, and she's top tier in damage output (for both single target and AoE).

Without the future amplifier characters, this is the community consensus on the strength of the elements (element tier list - strongest to weakest):
Ice > Lightning > Darkness > Fire

Instead of linking to spreadsheets again, I'll just copypaste the event/banner list here.

Format is: Event - Banner(s)
events are typically 5 weeks long and event banners typically run for 4 weeks, starting a day or two after the event starts

Kowloong Metropolis - S Lucia Plume/Raven Feather
Grand Blue - A Vera Rozen, Camu (compositor - first copy is free)
Firn Night - S Rosetta Arctic
Lost Chapter - A Changyu Kirin, Qu (compositor)
Fake Ascension - S Luna Laurel
Untold Naraka (Nier collab - will get a rerun) - 2B, A2, 9S
Echo Aria - A Wanshi Fate, Selena (compositor)
Imprisoned Sight - S Chrome Glory
Inscription of Labyrinth - A No. 21
The Last Spark - S Vera Flare
Evernight Beat - Roland (compositor)
The Survival Lucem - S Liv Solaeter
Recitativo di Fantasia - S Selena Capriccio (Construct frame this time, not a compositor)
Wandering Dream with Whale - Pulao (compositor)

For dorm dailies, I collect the event bubbles with the trick to speed it up, pat two chibis three times each if there aren't any pat bubbles or the need to top up morale, assign chores, make three items, recycle those three items, pick up my daily rewards, and at least buy the coating sketch special offer for x3 Dorm Coins. I think I have enough permits for the next floor of dorms, so I stick with buying sketches when I have a ton of dorm coins. I get affection items from the dorm dailies, so I don't bother with those. I'll worry about fixing up my dorms later when I have more furniture options. lol

Congrats on the new laptop and welcome to the emulator club! Don't forget that there are more emulators out there than just Bluestacks. There's also Nox (the one I use), LDPlayer, Mumu, and Memu, to name the popular ones. Try a few and see what you prefer.

Edit: a couple of undocumented changes for the Kowloong Metropolis event patch.

I would like to share some information my friend Dread and a couple other reliable sources looked into. They were not documented in the patch notes so these despite KM and GB events on the sheet being done for a while, they are not there. I've added these two changes in the spreadsheet and labelled them as undocumented. I am not confirming anything for global, but I think it's quite likely we'll receive them as well.

-Physical warzone has been changed from the teacup level into a darker stage. With no teacups or any other terrain to block your way. What the zone looks like: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1cC4y1Y7Kz

-Warzone spawn formations are no longer hot garbage. Waves are now always clumped together. This one is actually in the patch notes for Grand Blue, but I doubt anyone's going to miss the current line or circle spawns. My guess is that it was changed in KM but patch writers forgot about it and snuck it in GB. You can also reference the above video to see what the new formations look like.

We have a date for the new event in PGR!

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/6/9/AACGMdAACsuN.jpg

Basically, it starts the day after Nona Ouroboros ends. The new Lucia banner will go live on the morning of the 23rd or the 24th.

Speaking of which, you can try her out with that "The Lost" button you see there. It sets up the next event with a few story bits but the main thing is that you can try out the new Construct frame. The recommended way to play her is: do two 3-pings to fill the red sword gauge on the bottom, build up some orbs, press the ult button to switch to ice mode (all orbs will be auto-sorted to make 3-pings), quickly spam 3-ping skills until you run out, and finally activate her ultimate before the red gauge on the bottom runs out. RInse and repeat for tons of damage.

Keep in mind that this preview version likely has no memories equipped, so picture how much more damage she can do with that...

-6* weapon resonance major revision; adds more resonance skills, improves some skills, and gives you the ability to change what skills the character uses before battle (03:50 in -- Fake Ascension patch)

-Red USB item for memory resonance; can skip RNG and choose the resonance skill you want; farmable from War Zone! (04:20 in -- Fake Ascension patch)

-Pets; provides battlefield buffs; some are free, some farmable, some gacha-only (04:51 in -- Echo Aria Patch)

-Norman Restoration War (silly name, I know); new game mode that provides a challenge alongside Babel Tower/Project Babel, similar to Stronghold and Border Pact modes; harder than Babel but provides better rewards, especially if you clear it within the first few days of the season (05:26 in -- Echo Aria patch)

examples of rewards in Norman Restoration War are weapon resonance USBs, black cards, pet shards, pet EXP items, and special memory overclock materials

I got all the correct bounty missions in PGR for this week on the first day with 4 refreshes to spare. That doesn't happen very often!

Looks like PGR is adding Devil May Cry elements to the game. The combo counter has changed to a style rating and one of the characters is channeling his inner Dante (or maybe Kratos).

https://youtu.be/ygVXfrEEGEM

This game could so easily make collabs with DMC, God of War, Metal Gear Rising, etc.

And the PV for the Pulao event is up. It's funny. 1:18 especially made me laugh. I don't know if he was saying something other than what it sounded to me as (I don't speak Chinese), but...

https://youtu.be/4NwQ4KcKGxs

That waitress with a tail skin for Karenina is really cute. I'll be on the lookout to buy that one.

Circumstances changed for me, so I was able to buy this skin. I really like the ink painting motif on everything and the bonus effects and I'm now gunning for the matching weapon skin when it comes out next event.

Since the Kowloong Metropolis event is coming up fast (around Christmas), all the PGR content creators are already putting out a ton of stuff on both it and the new Lucia frame (S Lucia Plume/Raven Feather). Out of all of them, this one is a good enough breakdown of things to share here. It shows the event PV and then quickly breaks down the highlights of what's coming with it. Pause if you need more time to read the notes (there's no talking in the video aside from the characters).

Note that it does give a hint of a spoiler when it shows the story highlight. It doesn't reveal everything, so I personally wouldn't think of it as an actual spoiler.

https://youtu.be/ibNYA9-hqDI

The recommended memory set for the new frame in the video isn't 100% accurate. In the long haul, yes, 2 Darwin and 4 Hanna is the best overall set, but that's after Changyu comes out and can serve as a compatible debuffer. Until then, 2 Einsteina and 4 Hanna is the best set for her. You can even hang on to it for endgame content because future enemies will have more element resistance. More debuffs = more damage. There's also one more recommended memory set that uses Darwin and Frederick but that's only for the Pain Cage and not really worth investing in, IMO. The last recommended set is something I don't even need to bother bringing up, since that's for new players after Kowloong Metropolis is over (it's a 2+2+2 set of 5* memories).

The set with Zuwenyuan (the ice buffing memory introduced in this event) is more for new players who don't have the chance to farm Hanna in the event running now. It's okay enough but far from optimal.

In a move I probably should've made before recycling some 6* memories, is this the best set up for Liv (Since she's gonna be my healer and I'm not sure how long it'll be until I get to guild battles or even unlock guilds)? I found it here

Da Vinci and Philip II? Yeah, that's the best set for that frame if you aren't going to use her for damage. That set emphasizes healing and QTE skills. That's what I'm using on her myself.

If you, hypothetically, were going to use her as a backup damage dealer (she's not terrible), you'd want the Darwin + Leeuwenhoek set instead. Note that you can't even get Leeuwenhoek memories until S Rosetta comes out.

Yeah, that's the reason why I limited myself to only the three gacha games I enjoy the most. I want time for other things and not have a shallow experience with the gachas I play, i.e. limiting myself to only log-in bonuses and dailies while I try to juggle everything. I learned that the hard way, since I'd be playing around six to eight gacha games if I could. There are quite a few good ones out there. FOMO can be a bitch sometimes! lol

PGR news on the CN side. A new Compositor, S Pulao, is coming out under the reformed system, so Team Kowloong is complete now. Global is a long ways off from getting her but I thought I'd share the demo as a preview of a future character we'll eventually get.

https://youtu.be/75CH-5qzLw0

The rest is copypasted quotes regarding her, not my notes. Before you freak out about the -30% ATK debuff, Compositors have insanely high stat scaling. The devs could honestly make it -50% and it wouldn't make too much of a difference. The higher debuff is to avoid Compositors powercreeping normal S rank Constructs since you can now mix and match them.

PGR has now overhauled the Construct vs Compositer system. They are now all classified as Constructs, separated to two categories: General-purpose frames and Exclusive Zone frames.

Ex-compositers can now be played with constructs but the penalty is changed to -30% attack instead of -9% which can still be worked around with due to buffers and debuffers.

Pulao is a Physical S Exclusive Zone frame (i.e. a Compositor). The gacha and upgrade system still follow the compositer one. (1 copy guaranteed every 10 pulls in the gacha)

This is a beta test server so voice and sound effects are hidden.
-
For those who are confused, this is how Pulao works:
She has 2 ult states, the normal one used to perform her core gimmick, which required very little energy to initiate and the real one that can be activated by long pressing once the ult gauge is full.

She will pull out her weapon and throw it toward her target when you use normal ult. Once deployed, her weapon keeps swinging around the map, you can reactivate normal ult to recall it back to Pulao and she will perform the throwing move again. However, if you time a 3-ping of any color when Pulao makes contact with her weapon, she will kick it and dash toward her target, then you can smash normal attack button to perform her core passive combo.

Once the ult gauge is full, long pressing ult button to perform the real ult. Pulao will leap into the air and hurl her weapon directly beneath her, dealing huge damage.

Also, I'm not sure but apparently she can proc matrix by dodging her own weapon.
-
Any orb ping towards the weapon to trigger follow-up. Follow-up costs 50% gauge to do.
Dodging into the weapon triggers matrix.

At least this slot machine event is far better than the one at global's launch that people were raging over. It's easy and non-intrusive, just how I like these things to go. The previous one was a disaster.

As an aside, I didn't notice any login issue with the game. I'll take the free black cards though. >_>

Is there any other way to get Biancas Ink Lit Hermit skin besides rainbow cards? Or do you basically need to spend like $30 for a single outfit D:

Exclusive skins like that are only available for purchase $$$. They almost never become permanent additions that you can farm free blueprints for. The few that do take a crapton of blueprints to get. Cosmetics are the primary way this game makes money.

Expensive as that skin is right now, it's on discount. It will get a rerun later, but without the discount, so it'll be more expensive. It's not doable for me but I'm happy with her maid costume, at least for now.

Wait, hold on... Is Rosetta horse lady or what? Or is that only the boss? Because I hate centaur waifus :<

Rosetta is called Horse Lady by the community but she's not technically a centaur. The boss you usually face and her playable version are both her in her human form. You only fight or play as her in her centaur form a couple of times. She can switch between the two forms. These are cyborgs after all.

You can playback the Frozen Darkness event story and they explain why the Arctic Union has Constructs in centaur form....and the potential drawback of doing that.

In Arknights, the maps boil down to two things:

-How many enemy lanes (and waves) are there and who will be covering them? Enemies can come from a lot of places but generally funnel into specific lanes, which makes waves more manageable.
-What role is each character you deploy serving? This allows you to make substitutions where needed. When you think in terms of roles instead of specific characters, you won't straightjacket yourself as much.

As such, I don't really use guides much anymore, except when I either get really stumped or am just feeling really lazy or pressed for time. That's what made this current Annihilation fun to play with...until that last wave with the stupid Bulldozers. lol That took me a few runs before I got that one down. Contingency Contract was easy until it became time to go for Risk 18 on the permanent map. Yeah, I needed a guide for that.

After I didn't need Zima, I returned her and placed Mudrock in the far left at the topmost hole to cover that lane. I used Lancet at the top to heal my caster.

If you don't have Purestream, you can use Whisperain.

Additional: I remember now! I did use a guide at the time. It was this one:

I'm so glad the community keeps notes on what's in each event in PGR. I can see what memories will be in the event shops and plan accordingly! So, for the next event (Kowloong Metropolis), there will only be one memory available in the shop: ice-buffer Zuwenyuan. I'll have to ask around why this memory isn't part of Plume's recommended loadout.

Info on the event after that, Grand Blue, is a little sparse at the moment. They're getting rid of Musashi's spin2win skill in the Pain Cage? YES! I hate that move when fighting him. Babel Tower/Project Babel will be back at that time, so I need to beef up my characters as much as I can before then.

The event after Grand Blue, Firn Night, is what caught my attention. Look at all the memories that will be in the shop then! Rosetta's memory Leeuwenhoek, Shakespeare, Heisen, Zuwenyuan, Patton, Darwin, Hanna, Da Vinci, Einsteina, and Bathlon. There's even a memory for Compositors, Koya. Speaking of Compositor memories, Jack is basically The Joker from Batman! lol Looks like a guild system will be added around here? The patch notes haven't been translated yet.

That's a pretty balanced way to look at things, I think. I think along fairly similar lines. When it comes to waifu vs. meta, I'm somewhere in the middle. I think you need at least a little bit of meta but you also should like the characters you invest in. If a character embodies both, I think that's great!

Overall, I think veering too far toward either extreme ends up not being fun. All in on waifu and I have to wonder if there's something wrong with the game that's making me so character-focused; all in on meta, and I have to think there's something lacking in the characters. I need some measure of both before I can safely say I really enjoy a game.
