| rivers 07/24/21 2:58:22 PM #21 | decent chance there's another housing crash coming up some people above mentioned another us civil war. tensions are rising, but the us is spread apart enough to allow people to stay apart if that's their preference. i don't think the union will stay together much beyond 2040, but its breakup won't be catastrophic per se. if i remember right, un projections of sub-saharan african population have it doubling by 2050 and quadrupling by 2100. that's a lot of new people, and they aren't all going to be peaceful with one another or want to stay there. with so many lives on the line there is a lot of potential for unthinkable unpleasantness. i think the big catastrophe of the century will have to do with this. --- equites quattuor in saeculum saeculi 4h4l |

If you can take 15 minute rest breaks that include walking around, each of those will go a long way too. ShyOx posted... I'm minor league narcoleptic so I aint capable of that kind of thing as a job either wayIs this a diagnosis you've received or are you just noticeably a lot more tired than the average person? In the latter case, look into obstructive sleep apnea. I was thinking that sleep apnea might be at play here--I had it for a long time despite being super skinny, and wish my frequent wakeups with elevated heart rate, sweating and dry mouth had led me to getting tested sooner. world of difference now. since dealing with it, my dreams have seemed more complex, longer, and filled with people and weird concepts, and this probably relates to getting more REM sleep. although you didn't go into detail about them, the topics of the dreams you're remembering lately seem more likely to correspond to REM sleep. you mention keeping crazy hours--if this involves getting too little sleep on some nights, maybe you're having REM rebound on other nights, leading to longer REM cycles and weirder dreams. sleep apnea still could be something to consider, as REM sleep is where the muscles of the throat (and everywhere) are most relaxed and likely to cause you to wake up just enough to inhale, but not enough to remember, and you're more likely to consolidate memories from dreams if you're roused from them. --- equites quattuor in saeculum saeculi 4h4l |

| rivers 07/09/21 12:25:54 AM #5 | Doom_Art posted... too warm to initiate sleep. like my body can't breath.aha. if you were waking up like that, i was going to suggest looking into sleep apnea. a drop in core temperature is important for sleep onset, so you might need to change something in order to facilitate it. this could be reducing the temp on the thermostat, or maybe changing the timing of your shower. a warm shower will also reduce your core temperature so no need to go wim hof. the skin of the face, palms and soles is the most sensitive to temperature change. so, if you sleep with socks on, take them off, and consider sticking one or both of them out of your sheets. --- equites quattuor in saeculum saeculi 4h4l |
