Personally, I like it, but I know that most people don't. I'm all about like 6 hour stretches without stopping, fill back up, eat, hit the bathroom and then do it again.

I'm sure it would get old if I did it for work, but doing 1,200 miles 6 or so times a year is cool for me.

It's designed to be skewed or trolled. Anyone that understands knows the answer isn't there so they either troll it or do nothing. You are just left with people that either don't know it, or second guess themselves when their first answer wasn't in the list. Pure social engineering.

I mean this has been a pretty big Republican/Conservative desire for the last 20 years or so. They know the crumbling of public education will disproportionately affect the poor to keep them in their place.

Probably, the extent of executive order power is not really defined and to really say if this is or isn't they would have to review everything and make actual rules for what it can do.

It can vary, and will happen faster the more empty the bottle is (more air inside). It is still drinkable, but you can tell in the flavor that something has been lost.

They made deals with a bunch or tubers/twitchers to give them free chairs as marketing. If you really wanted to drop money on a quality chair go look into a Herman Miller.

Under the surface they actually tell some pretty good stories.
But the fanbase is fairly toxic.

I've literally pushed cows out of my way on some hiking trails where they graze and none of them ever seemed anything but totally docile.

Generally they are, but it is still a nearly 1 ton animal if it decides it doesn't like you right now for whatever reason.

Cows are assholes, generally just something from being around one doing something and them just deciding to take a sausage. One was them putting some feed out, so maybe that one was accidental, but the others the cow absolutely did it on purpose.

I'm fairly certain the 2017 Republican law to reduce the penalty to $0 is in fact unconstitutional. The only issue with that is that if it is found unconstitutional then the 2017 law would be rolled back, not the ACA.

I didn't read the source citation, but changing this to neutral language could potentially make it harder to connect to the source. As demonstrated in this thread it is a less known slur and someone checking the article against the source may not be able to make the connection.

Given the sensitive language they should have attempted a better citation to show that it was the language of the source and not the author.

It likely means there are pending legal inquiries into the the latter two preventing him from deleting them. I guess they nipped LAAG early enough that they could delete once they looked through internally.

Maybe I'm missing something, but the only mandates I've ever seen were narrowly tailored and full of exceptions. I think we would have legal difficultly creating a broad-scale adult vaccination requirement.

We've known they've been trying to cover it up since late 2019, but there is literally no evidence whatsoever that it was a deliberately bioengineered virus. As best as we can tell, the most likely scenario is that it was being studied in animals in the lab, and got out.

That's still not the most likely scenario. Most likely case is still that it developed in the wild somewhere near Wuhan.

There is no indication that any of them had Covid and hospitals are more common for primary care in China than the US. It's early November, odds are they had the flu.

If you don't want to protect yourself from covid, the consequences are on you now.

Viruses aren't really analogous to seat belts, more like drinking and driving. The more people that get infected gives the virus more opportunity to mutate. The more it mutates the greater possibility it becomes resistant to the antibodies granted by one or all of the vaccines so far. To stop a virus for good you pretty much have to entirely squash it or it just comes back like a slasher movie villain later.

The NFT is not the rights holder, so it does not legally grant them the right to make money off of it. (e.g. Buying a piece of original art does not allow you to start making and selling reproductions of that art). But it just depends on what the creators/copyright holders might grant the purchaser in addition to the NFT.

Pretty much the entire globe got fucked by this. US or not, someone with the power needs to get on this, and if suspicions are proven korrect, China should be held accountable for this krime against humanity.

That's not how the world works. Even if we were to prove that not only China develop it, but they 100% released it intentionally, nothing more than strong words will come out of it.

It's a waste of time and resources. Sure there is a chance this either came from the lab or potentially even was being developed in the lab, but both those are slim outcomes.

I would support an independent commission investigating the origins and response to Covid, the what did we know when and how did we react so we can have a better plan in place for next time. (And there will be a next time). Focusing on the Wuhan lab though, it's just not productive.

Not at all, I have on many occasion, where I'm the tech lead that an idea gets sent to once it has been vetted through product, said anything is possible in tech given enough time and money.
The point is that is takes time and money just for to figure out how much time and money doing the idea would take. Not having that vetted with product vision before someone takes the time to scope it is a waste of time and money, especially when developer time is one of the most expensive and in demand things. It's not just the money you pay them, but the lost opportunity cost where you could have had them doing something you actually wanted.

It is because developer resources are so precious that I try to impress on the new people to understand where and how they should be applying themselves.

As a programmer, I am the opposite. You can basically do anything you want given enough time and effort.
Someone says, "Can we do this?" I say sure, gonna take some time to figure out how to do it. Unless I already know how to do it.
But then the irony is security or some other red tape says you can't because our rules aren't flexible or whatever.

As a senior developer this is one of the first things I break the newbies of. I do believe for almost all developers the default answer should be no, but not to tell them their ideas are stupid, even when they actually are.

The reason for this is because there is a process for ideas and you shouldn't just be randomly asking my devs to do things. I have 2 years of roadmap with 5 years of work on it already, go convince leadership your idea is worth pursuing and then find a tech lead to workshop it with their blessing. Then once it is approved and placed on the roadmap we can start bringing more people to the conversation of accomplishing the details.
