Early on yeah because they didnt have the Pokemon to replace certain animals but later gens did away with real animals. One of the leaked handbooks from the Pokemon company tells 3rd parties not to depict real animals because the Pokemon are the replacements.

I remember watching this about 10 years ago during the height of the brony craze. Anyways its hilarious that the cashier got called a brony. His pin isnt a my little pony character but a Pokmon, in particular one that tends to get sexualized a lot by people who are really into the Pokmon themselves. Really if youre wearing something like that to fucking work than youre probably no better off than the extreme side of bronyism.

i also feel like charts like these dont take context into account. Even if some want to play 1 as it being equal to a costume I feel thats a wrong take because often times those extra limbs are actually part of the body and often times theres additional context behind said characters. Like one thread brought up that Felicia character from darkstalkers. Im pretty sure shes a cat person who can actually turn into a cat iirc.

Well this was for qualifying for the smash world tour. They have online qualifiers which move on to offline later this year. Light, Marss, Cosmos and Ned didnt qualify because they lost. In particular Ned had it rough because he got the read last game last stock but misinputed, maybe due to online, and died center stage at 50% as a super heavyweight because Lucario in this game is a badly designed character. This was also the qualifier match too.

It basically depends on what canon you go by because in the anime there's a talking meowth and there's been a few talking pokemon too. Having a talking meowth implies other pokemon can learn to talk if they wanted to. But in Yellow and the Let's Go games team rocket meowth doesn't talk and talking pokemon are much more scarse. The pokedex for the games seems to imply that most pokemon are incapable of understanding human language and aren't intelligent since there's some entries that point out if a pokemon is intelligent or even has the ability to understand humans. Gen I had Alakazam, Ninetales, Lapras, and Dragonite as intelligent pokemon that can understand humans thanks to their intelligence.

I'm kinda surprised digimon isn't more popular with that crowd considering how sexualized and human-like some of these designs are. In contrast with pokemon designs which lack a female figure and the bipedal ones are nowhere near as human as digimon like angewomon.

I think there's a difference between Isabelle from animal crossing and the actual pokemon. Isabelle from animal crossing even if she's a dog she's a person in her games. That is someone who can talk, hold a job, and be pretty much an equal. On the other hand the pokemon are much closer to animals and in a sense are treated and behave more like dogs than Isabelle does. While I don't approve of sexualizing Isabelle that way at least it's not, imo, as bad as it is for pokemon. Which begs the question why sexualize the animal-like creatures when there's humans.

Eh, you should really think more of them as pets rather than slaves. At least that's how the series portrays them as. Of course even in gen I you had a few pokemon to match humans in intelligence like Lapras, Ninetales and Dragonite and Alakazam and Slowking with higher but it's not an issue for them apparently.
