Don't bother. I said something similar earlier in the thread. A real OBGYN chimed in and said that demanding employer concessions at 7 weeks is unrealistic and unnecessary. But, you know, why let logic and facts get in the way when the pitchforks are out.

It could of happened at any company, but it's trendy to hate on Amazon right now.

miscarriages are higher because of complete separate issues not related to work stresses or exposures. Most of them are, again, genetic anomalies that are nonviable. Nowhere in obstetric literature (including the entirety of retrospective studies) is manual labor a statistically significant risk factor for miscarriage. While I think its nice if a company accommodates a low risk pregnancy in the first trimester, it is not necessary for the benefit of the pregnancy.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this was 7 weeks EGA. Im an OBGYN and it is kind of ludicrous to demand pregnancy accommodations at 7 weeks, although you would hope an employer would work with you. The most common cause of early pregnancy loss, especially the mid first trimester (about 1-2 weeks after people find out theyre pregnant much like this woman), is due to a genetic anomaly associated with the pregnancy

It better hurry up and warm up over there so I can spend my money and eat that hotpot and do some shopping while I'm young enough to enjoy it, goddammit.

Recommendations on all of the go-to places? Where can I find out good food/travel locations, and points of interests? The subreddit is politics, as is the Sino subreddit. I usually feel like tourism websites are cheesy.

Hey there CE, I'm a little bummed.

I finish my residency training in 2 days, and for my specialty our board eligibility exam was today. It's effectively the big exam at the end of training. I've studied well enough for it over the years. We take an in-service exam every year and I've routinely scored slightly above average with a steady ramp to well above average this year. I felt confident enough, the exam is scored but really only passing matters. It has a 91% first time pass rate compiled over the past 8 years. It's only offered once a year, and I feel like I choked on it today. Some of the questions were just so incredibly vague, and for the first time in a very long time I started to routinely confuse myself over answers I usually get right. I'm not exactly sure what percentage of questions need to be answered correctly, results are run through a mathematical algorithm and I'll know in early September if I pass or fail. But holy shit I just feel so down. I looked up about 10 or 15 questions that I was 50/50 on and only about 2 were answered correctly from cursory checking. I don't really have anyone to talk to about this. I'm newly single, none of my friends are residents, and I'm not really close with anyone in my residency cohort. I went to the gym to work some stress out but had to cut it short, I feel like crap. I'll probably just shower and have a beer. Just... wtf. I really thought I was going to tear this thing up.

you're responding to one of the comrades btw

That's fine. I've never been to Hong Kong and it's a dream destination of mine but there is too much international attention on it, I'm not sure how warm the reception would be as an American tourist.

The TC made this topic about food.

The second post was immediately about politics.

To be fair, TC and his comrades were suspiciously eager to jump right into that argument. Lol.

There are absolutely good NPs. It's not a debate that there are an unfortunate amount of degree mills out there, and I agree on better training. Assuming all NPs are bad because you've had bad experiences with them isn't realistic.

Of course. I should roll back my previous statement. But the caveat is so large that people should go out of their way to state that there are good NPs, rather than the inverse. I'm sure you're aware of the problems that plague the profession, which until they're addressed will be a blight upon the training and practice within the NP field. Overwhelmingly more often than not (and as you've touched on especially with online degree mills but honestly even with brick-and-mortar schools) they are criminally undertrained in the medical model and classes tend to focus on hospital policy and advocacy more than pathophysiology. Additionally, nurses who commit blatant malpractice are not beholden to medical boards, but are beholden to the nursing board and have their licenses unrevoked because the nursing board is housed by RNs rather than NPs. This is a serious problem. NPs are a quick cash-in for the next few years but are rapidly overwhelming their own market and driving healthcare intop the hands of corporate medicine.

Told you TC. Lmao.

I mean, yeah it's not a secret. NPs know fuck all and routinely mismanage patients.
