Just have each level (or set of levels) be set in different cities or even just vague regions representative of various countries. Could allow for a bit more variety in level themes and designs. Would be a nightmare making all the different models but if they stuck with the same simple art style it'd maybe be doable...

I just finished Reroll and I just want more Katamari...

Going off the pokedex/bulbapedia entries:

So, assuming type affinities are a gameplay conceit, I think I'll ignore the type advantage (at least in this situation... fire against grass would be harder to ignore).

Flabebe is one of the smallest and lightest pokemon. It blows in the wind and holds onto its flower for dear life and draws power from it (which I guess might be part of its body).

Machop can easily lift Graveler (231lbs) and even throw 100 human adults (...which frankly sounds absurd, unless it's 1 at a time but being that its muscles never tire I'm not sure how that limit is reached). It also seeks to learn every martial arts, which I suppose is impressive as well.

I feel like, being that there isn't much of a speed gap and Machop is apparently a highly skilled fighter, Machop could easily just squish Flabebe.

Going off the pokedex/bulbapedia entries:

Gloom gives off a smell that can knock out opponents (and the smell can somehow reach over a mile away... which sounds insane). It's drool is also sticky (and sweet... but still atrocious smelling).

Zigzagoon is curious, walks in zigzags, finds things, and plays dead. Galarian (dunno if forms would be separated out) likes to start fights.

I think this would go to Gloom. It's half the weight so it might get knocked around a bit but it's scent would probably just knock out the Zigzagoon. And then Gloom can just drool everywhere to stick Zigzagoon in place.

These both have very boring pokedex entries. Mismagius torments foes with incantations but sometimes they cause happiness. Emboar can light its hands on fire with its fire beard for fire punches and cares deeply for its friends.

I dunno. Mismagius can fly so maybe it could enchant Emboar from afar... but if Emboar's fighting for its friends it could have extra resolve... Bulbapedia says it's fast (though stats-wise it is slower than Mismagius) so I have no idea.

Man this is way harder than the Tauros/Dewpider one.

Nah, screw the stats/moves/whatevs I'm gonna just go with pokedex entries and whatever else is in their bulbapedia biology from now on.

...which is still definitely Tauros here.

I don't think
"Its water bubble allows it to breathe and protects its soft head."
Is much match for
"it will charge at thick trees and knock them down"

Also 1ft 8.8lbs would smoosh pretty easy under 4ft7in 195lbs.

Dewpider's a stage 1 of 2 (vs Tauros being a single stage) so it's stats would be pretty crappy in comparison.

Per the suit, Johansson's team attempted to renegotiate her contract after the decision to debut the film on Disney+ was made, but Disney and Marvel were not responsive.
This bit seems pretty damning. Maybe they assume they can settle for less than they'd have had to pay her.

Mayor McCheese? Or I guess that could be an office... so maybe Officer Big Mac makes more sense (does that count as political?)?

I'll be honest I've never heard of either of 'em... just looked at the McD's wiki. I apologize if that's cheating.

So after rewatching 1:

  • Michael definitely cannot act. And the closeup reaction shots sprinkled throughout were really stupid and cheesy. I still think the first was smart in that it didn't try to hang an attempt at an emotional story on his lack of acting talent.
  • The Animation didn't hold up as well as I had remembered. The 2D was fine but any time it was in a 3D environment or interacting with live action it didn't look great (except with Michael's gym bag... for some reason that looked pretty good). And obviously with it's age, the cgi was very bad. CG inflatable Wayne Knight was kinda scary lookin'.
  • Most of the live action cast being basketball players that can't really act was not super fun to watch. Wayne Knight and Bill Murray were enjoyable though (more so than any supporting cast in 2).
  • For whatever reason 2 made Lebron look like a complete ass (I dunno anything about him so I dunno how true that is but it's odd that given the chance at a fictional version that's what they'd go with) but 1 made Michael seem kinda cool as far as personality. He's good with poking fun at his baseball attempt, he's really chill with his kids, and he just seems overall pretty pleasant. Seems like a nice dude.
  • 2 spent a lot of time building up and then paying off a really cheesy moral to the story. I don't know that 1 even really tried to have any sorta moral, just seemed interested in telling it's wacky story.
  • I don't really care about basketball but it was way more entertaining watching 1's looney but mostly followable game versus 2's silly videogame rules that don't matter and made scoring totally arbitrary. Obviously the scores are whatever and just there to drive the plot but 2's being as silly as it was just made it way less interesting in my opinion.
I'm fully aware that it might just be nostalgia but I still enjoyed 1. 2 absolutely sucked.

I thought the new one was abysmal. It's been a long time since I've watch the first but I kinda remember it being more of a Looney Tunes cartoon that, while totally about Michael Jordan, didn't rely on him to entertain the audience. The new one tries to have Lebron James pull along a story and his acting is so bad (Michael's wasn't great either but, again, the first smartly wasn't trying to do that).

Cheadle was also completely uninteresting compared to what I remember from De Vito's villain. Obviously they're both cartoonishly evil but Cheadle just came across annoying versus De Vito's fun (it probably helps that one was a cartoon). And then the Goon Squad was just boring in comparison to the Monstars. The Goon Squad didn't get much character than maybe 1 scene each whereas the Nerdluck/Monstar's were a prominent feature of the movie.

And 2 felt really cheap. I didn't like a lot of the 2D, especially in some of the references. The worst was the crowd of WB properties at the game looked extremely cheap. The costumes were just awful and they did weird canned animations the whole time, which I guess makes production sense because they're not actually reacting to anything but it just looks dumb. And I think the cartoon crowd were all kinda poor CG. The CG Looney Tunes looked pretty great though.

Gonna have to rewatch the first but I at least remember that mostly just being Looney Tunes fun.
