DS3 feels nothing like bloodborne. If anything DS2 is the game in the series that plays the most radically different because of how they tweaked stamina usage to allow you to have to play way slower than DeS or DS1

Im pretty sure everything that happened with vendrick took place a long long time ago too but honestly I could be entirely wrong because I don't think the story ever attempts to specify at all.

My main takeaway from DS2 lore is there's less a main story that everything spiderwebs to and builds towards like in DS1 and more a whole bunch of stories going on all at the same time. Every place you go to has something going on in it but often its connection to anything else in its lore is very tenuous at best.

I don't think that's a bad thing automatically or anything, I just didn't find it as interesting.

For me the animations and movements were really bad, the controls feel floaty with no weight or impact, the level design is uninspired and didn't fully understand what made the OG Dark Souls so good, most bosses are very uninspired, torch mechanic is very unnecessary, DLC features plenty of bad shit despite everyone saying how much better they are, Frigid Outskirts is the worst area of any souls game. It's bafflingly bad.

I agree with most of this but the sanctum city is a really cool dlc that tickles my cthulhu mythos enthusiasm and brume is just well designed. You're right though, the game intrinsically feels bad. I think a lot of people defend it either because it was their first souls game or because all they care about is pvp

Ivory. The first section on the frozen ramparts is cool and the final boss is kind of climactic and cinematic, everything else is surprisingly terrible. Frozen Outskirts and Iron Passage are two of the worst areas in any souls game
