I voted for Square, but Nintendo has the best sheer amount of great music. Capcom is great at the smaller, quicker stuff (Mega Man stages, Street Fighter character themes, etc).

I got a new phone a year ago, and it came with a free year of Apple TV+. I activated it, looked around, and saw absolutely nothing that interested me. Just deactivated it recently before any billing kicked in.

First games came out in 1998. I was in high school by then, and Pokmon was marketed as a kids game, and a kids cartoon. So I had zero interest.

I went back and tried Pokmon Red years later, and it seemed like it was babys first RPG, so I really didnt get too far into it before I grew bored.

There's one right before the first boss (I think the game even pans to the hole that leads to it) and one in the first door you see in the first big room of Agon Wastes. Absolutely no way you should have gone an hour and a half without seeing one.

It was 10+ years ago, so I really couldnt tell you the details about anything. I seem to recall fighting pirates much earlier in P2 than in P1, but thats it.

Sorry, Samus Returns. Completely forgot Federation Force was a thing. And I actually only played Super Metroid, Fusion, and Samus Returns in the last month. Randomly decided to finally give Super a try on the Switch, and just played the others in succession.

I have a Wii, and I own Prime 3 I just never got around to it. I actually played very little of Prime 2. I started it, played like 90 minutes early on without access to a save spot (and was very aware of it), and then the power went out. My thought was Fuck, Im not replaying all of that, and I never got back around to it. One day I will.

Pokemon = Very little of Red
Fire Emblem = Like an hour of the GBA game

But Ive never played a single minute of an Animal Crossing game

Since I loved it as well, Ill share my experiences too.

It was just like living in a giant house with a ton of friends. You might not know everyone, but you knew a lot of the people. My roommate and I pretty much let our room be a central spot on the floor for our group of friends, since I had the video game consoles. People would come over all the time to play games, and wed regularly just leave with our friends still in the room when we went to class. Wed come back and a new set of friends would be in there, since it was a bit of a revolving door.

Also, having a food court on the ground floor of where you live is ultra convenient. Just go down there are weird hours to get food. More often than not, wed go down with a group, or wed bump into people we knew.

It was just this weird communal thing that Id never experienced before and that I will likely never experience again. Im glad I experienced it it was great.

Usually once kids hit 3rd year, they moved off campus because they realized it was a glorified "living at home" experience.

Living in an apartment later on at college was another different experience. Different from the dorms, but equally great.

College was just fucking fun.

Aside from the high price, I think the biggest problem for the Steam Deck is that it has the power of a PS4/XB1, by most accounts. Which means that it wont be able to keep up with the newest AAA releases for very long.

Switch doesnt have a dedicated Zelda game, since BotW is on Wii U.

You could also make the case for the Wii not having a dedicated game (Twilight Princess is on GameCube: Skyward Sword is on the Switch)

lots of good here, but i think you missed one important thing. what's the speed limit on that road, and how fast was the driver actually going? because imo, that looks like no more than a 25, and could easily be a 15. lethal injuries are pretty rare at or under 20, and even if it is a 25, the driver should have at least some time to start braking.

Id be shocked if it wasnt 25mph. I went down to the 7500 block without seeing any signs, which isnt uncommon in Chicago. Just about every residential street in the city is 25.

I think if a 9 year old came out from behind a car going the speed that would be associated with most bikes, it could be tough to stop in time. A kid mightve thought that he had a clear street while looking through the cars, and did not see the truck.

And again, Im making some assumptions here, just trying to paint a picture in which this is feasible. There is absolutely a chance as well that the driver was being reckless. We just dont know.

For people wondering how this happened because there was a crosswalk, not all crosswalks are at stop signs, and that appears to be the case here. I used Google Maps to pull up the 7300 block of N Sacramento in Chicago, and the below pic is it, heading northbound. It is meant as a place for people to cross the street when conditions call for it (although the driver is at fault for hitting a pedestrian, the pedestrian still needs to use caution for their own safety).

I am going to do a bit of assuming here, but it says the incident occurred in the evening. During evenings in Chicago, the curbsides are lined with parked cars, and that was likely the case on Wednesday evening. There would have been cars all alongside the road, except for just where that fire hydrant is located on the left, since that would be illegal. This makes it easier for someone to unexpectedly pop out of nowhere.

Additionally, the kid was on a bike. While we dont know the exact details of the time of the accident, a 9-year old on a bike has the potential to move a lot more quickly than a kid on foot. With the accident happening in the evening, visibility might have been less favorable than what is shown in the pic, too.

Again, Im making a lot of assumptions, but I can see how the accident would occur, given the right circumstances. Im not excusing it, but I can see how it might have happened.
