You're still going to be at significantly higher risk unless you're already vaccinated yourself. The masks have always been better for keeping people from spreading the virus more than they have been protecting you from it.

Personally, I think they dropped the requirement way too early - there are still millions of people who haven't been able to get vaccinated yet (not counting the idiots who are deliberately refusing to), who are potentially getting fucked over by this. In the US alone we've only really vaccinated about 1/3rd of the population (and most people probably aren't going to process the idea that it still takes about two weeks after your last shot to be fully protected, and will take their mask off the day after their shot).

Allowing people to decide on their own recognizance whether or not they're "safe" is a terrible idea, because people in general are stupid and terrible.

Don't care, am barely paying attention.

But I always have a tiny little moment of surprise when older couples get divorced. Because I tend to assume if you've been together for 20+ years, and managed to survive having kids and dealing with financial issues, you should probably have successfully worked through most of the issues that could lead to divorce already. And social inertia/the comfort of familiarity/fear of abandonment/etc should probably make you more likely to just settle for what you have rather than leap into a radical life change over what might be incredibly petty reasons.

It just feels like people are willing to self-destruct one of the most important things in their life over mere lethargy or apathy. Obviously the public has no real idea of what kind of contentious arguments or building conflicts have been behind the scenes, so our perception is skewed, but it's always more surprising when the people in question have been together for decades and have always seemed to be affectionate towards each other, as opposed to the usual celebrity couple that metaphorically meet on a Tuesday, get married on Wednesday, and seem like they're already having problems by Saturday (and then get divorced on Sunday). If anything, I expect younger celebrity couples to collapse, and am more surprised when they actually succeed.

I fail to understand how him attending a BLM rally would impact the verdict? I fully expect an appeal to occur but a retrial is an entirely different matter isn't it?
