SoM has a lot of jankiness gameplay-wise, but: 1. As a kid I didnt fully notice it, and 2. I love everything else about the game so much that the jank is worth it. I even kind love the weirdass ring menus.

I think the Time Keepers might be villains, but the TVA agents are unaware and genuinely believe theyre doing the right thing.

It could totally be a Wizard of Oz situation where the Timekeepers dont even really exist in the form the TVA thinks they do.

They might be doing one of those things where they combine elements of two comic characters into one. I definitely thought she looked Enchantressy. They did make a deliberate point to say different Lokis can have differing powers and appearances, so maybe shes just a Loki with a different power and appearance. Dunno.

It's literally because the audience is human. We see him eating a salad and learn that his greatest dream (which will never be fulfilled) is to ride a jet ski and we get an idea of who this character is. We wouldn't know anything about him if he was eating a flupperflitter and wished he could ride a sloopyslopangir. What are you all going to bitch about next, that they're speaking in a human language? :p

I get that the writers choose to write about Earth stuff because real people are from Earth, but that doesnt mean there isnt also an in-universe explanation for all the Earth stuff.

It bothers me how weirdly earth-centric this show is, when they were talking about finding apocalypses I thought they were going to go to like, a planet that exploded or something, not some boring earth catastrophe. When the list of places that had anomalies came up they were like 90% on earth too. I mean, maybe it's just because Loki is most familiar with earth, but then like one of the resets went to Ego? I dunno it's just weird, I realize it would be hard to make this relatable (and harder to film as well) if they were all crazy weird places in the cosmos but there's like no explanation

This stood out to me too, but I think it may end up making some sense. Like canonically within the MCU as of now, the biggest event in the universe (Thanoss whole situation) was very Earth-centric, even ending with him dying there. Messing that up is probably the biggest possible disruption to the timeline.

Also I dont know for sure what capacity, if any, Kang the Conquerer will appear in this series, but we know hes coming up in the next Ant-Man in somehow, and one of those time keeper statues looks a lot like him.
I dont remember his whole deal exactly, but Im pretty sure hes from Earth too, so if he was involved in starting TVA, that might help explain the Earth-centricity of this stuff.

The TVA in general seems very Earth-centric. All the agents appear to be human, and their mascot is a talking clock, and their whole general aesthetic... Im optimistic that there will be an in-universe reason for all that.

It was really good. Its kind of dialogue heavy at times, but the dialogue is great so Im loving it.

dumb thought I had during it:
part of me thought Kate Berlant (the woman at the ren faire who talks to the TVA agents) was going to turn out to be Lady Loki because she was gone when Loki and Mobius showed up and she was an actress I recognize.

obviously that was not the case

most of the big announcements felt like games that would have been on the 3DS, but now theres just the Switch, so theyre on Switch.

Maybe Switch Pro is the successor to Switch. Could be theyre doing something New 3DS-like where it will play all the current Switch stuff, but also have its own exclusives.

The Switch is going so well that it might not make sense to do something totally new any time soon.

That is a pretty good release schedule. I wouldnt be surprised if they reveal one other little thing later this year, like Wind Waker/Twilight Princess ports for the holiday season or some other weird little thing.

They already put Metroid and Super on the Switch virtual console thing, so theres not much else 2d to collect. I guess they could do Fusion + Zero Mission... which now that Im saying it seems pretty smart since Dread is a direct sequel to Fusion.

Allegedly they have a Prime collection totally finished and ready to go, but theyre saving it for closer to when 4 is coming out.

It's hard to tell, but the hair looks different in certain scenes. Like when the character is falling from the sky. It doesn't show the character's face either.

I took Zelda falling into a chasm at the start as a sign shes definitely not playable. I think the hair differences may just be Link outfits changing.

If this werent a total open world sort of game, Id think there would be some segments where you play as Zelda underground or something, but it might be difficult to fit that into a pretty unstructured game.

the Tim Heidecker sketch is too low. It gave us Roy Donk. And the weird way Tim keeps calling it gazpacho soup.

Im not sure what my #1 is right now, but I will say I feel very strongly about the Chunky game show. Obviously the focus group is also incredible so its in contention there too.

I wish there was a fulller version of the Friday night song. Its so good, I assumed it had to be a preexisting song when I first heard it.

yeah they need to introduce a world and premise, CG trailer works for that fine.

Its from Arkane, so its probably more of a co-op Dishonored kind of situation than a straight forward Left 4 Dead all shooting thing. Im definitely interested in learning more.
