So uh... OK. I'm a little confused what the heck is going on lore wise and then game wise.

I went and talked with I guess the daughter of Lord Gwyn and she let me teleport! Yay! She wants me to kill her father (as does Frampt) and I guess bring back light to the world? Or something? I dunno.

Some item I had reacted in the previous area so I used it and I invaded and I killed Knight Lautrec? I got the Firelink Soul and brought it back and the girl who was under the bonfire back to life! I remember her getting killed.

Now what do I do?

2 cost cards are great with snecko. It's widely considered amongst the best players that snecko is a top boss relic (for most decks). Especially with ironclad with his high energy requirements and low draw

I would have thought that since Snecko can push cost up to 3, even for 1 or 0 cost cards, overall it's a zero sum game. Interesting.

The thing is, the Bruins and Caps will destroy each other in what I imagine will be a 6+ series. Whoever comes out of that is gonna be bashed. Even compared to Pens vs. Islanders. Those teams aren't gonna kill each other in the same way.

F44 - Nemesis. Do get hit pretty hard, 27/97HP. Self-Forming Clay (Whenever you lose HP, gain 3 block next turn). Skip card choice.

F45 - ? Room. Exploder (x2), Repulsor, Spiker. Bad luck. 9/97 HP. Skip card choice.

F46 - Darkling (x3). Boom went the dynamite, I lost.

F35 - Repulsor, Spiker, Exploder. 87/94 HP. Strength Potion. Rupture (whenever you lose HP from a card gain 2 strength), Second Wind (Exhaust all non-attack cards in your hand. Gain 7 block for each card exhausted), Pommel Strike (Deal 9, draw a card), Evolve (whenever you draw a status card, draw 2). I decide to skip. I have no Gold so I can't remove cards, and Pommel Strike while better than a regular strike is not good enough to have around when my deck is above 25 cards.

F36 - ? Room. Match and Keep! I get Forethought+ (take any number of cards from your hand and put them at the bottom of the draw pile. Those cards will be 0 cost until played).

F37 - 3 Darklings. 78/94 HP. Thunderclap (Deal 7 damage and apply vulnerable to all enemies), Disarm (enemy loses 3 strength, exhaust), Dual Wield+ (Chose an Attack or Power card. Add 2 copies into your hand), Rampage (Deal 8 damace, increase the damage by 8 this combat). Interesting choices. Rampage would be great for a smaller deck, but I go with Dual Wield. Again more deck maniupation.

F38 - ? Room. I lose all my Gold (5) to get a relic. Red Mask. At the start of combat apply 1 weak to all enemies.

F39 - 2 Spiker's, Spheric Guardian. Drink my Block potion. 60/94 HP. Fear Potion. Skip the card draw as nothing there is good.

F40 - Giant Head Elite. Here we go, took a risk. This guy eventually hits like a truck. My damage output should be fine though. Kill it with Feed to get the additional Max HP! 38/97 HP. Ink Bottle (Whenever you play 10 cards, draw a card), Explosive Potion. Take Wild Strike.

F41 - ? Room. I can upgrade a card for free. I go with Inflame to get +3 Strength instead of +2.

F42 - Rest Room. I choose to Rest. 67/97 HP.

F43 - Chest! Red Skull (while HP is below 50%, additional 3 strength)

Decision here that could make or break the run. I can go for an elite or a regular. Elite could give me a killer relic... or it could leave me hurting. Looking forward I only have one rest spot right before the boss. If this Elite hurts me hard I'm behind the 8-ball the rest of the run.

F31 - ? Room. Wheel of Change. Got the full heal!

F32 - Rest Area. With the full heal, I can Smith! I shall upgrade my Immolate.

Act 2 Boss - Bronze Automaton. Should be a fairly easy encounter with my damage output and full HP. Use my Distilled Chaos Potion just to ensure an easy encounter. Get a Block Potion for my troubles as well as a choice between Exhume (Put a Card from Exhaust Pile into your hand. Exhaust this card), Feed (deal 10 damage, if fatal raise Max HP by 3), Demon Form (At the start of your turn gain 2 strength), Fiend Fire (Exhaust your hand, deal 7 damage for each card. Exhaust this card). I kinda don't want any of them? Feed is better than my basic Strikes and even if I get its special effect a couple times it is beneficial, so I go for that.

F18 3 Byrds. 94/94 HP. Anger, Headbutt (deal 9 damage, put a card from discard to the top of your draw), Dark Embrace (whenever a card is Exhausted, draw 1 card). Easy choice, headbutt for deck control.

F19 - ? Room. I can duplicate a card in my deck. INTERESTING hmmm Fuck it, Perfected Strike! Lets do this!

F20 2 Looters. 82/94 HP. Twin Strike taken (forgot to list the other two before taking it) to power up Perfected Strikes. PS meta has been enacted! Might be hard in terms of damage mitigation, but we shall see!

F21 - ? room. Grabbed the Jaxxed Card (0 cost, lose 3 HP Gain 2 Strength).

F22 - ? room. Can either get 99 Gold (cannot get gold) or lose 6HP and gain the Ritual Dagger (15 damage, increase by 3 if it is fatal. Exhaust after use per combat). I grab the dagger!

F23 2 Slavers and Taskmaster Elite. Lots of damage incoming with this battle, I know from experience. 27/94 HP. Question Card (Future Card Rewards have additional card choice), Distilled Chaos potion (play the top 3 cards of you draw pile). Twin Strike+ (deal 7 damage twice), True Grit+ (gain 9 block exhaust one card), Ghostly Armor (Gain 10 Block, must use it when it comes up or it is exhausted for the remainder). I went with the Armor to help with damage mitigation. 25 cards in my deck now, have to get REALLY selective.

F24 Rest area. Choosing to rest. 55/94 HP.

F25 - ? Room. Battle with Centurion and Mystic. 39/94 HP. Wild Strike+ (17 damage, shuffle a wound into your draw pile), Burning Pact (exhaust a card, draw 2 cards), Headbutt+, Anger+. I decide to get the Wild Strike+ feeding into my deck meta.

F26 Chest! Toxic Egg (whenever you add a skill card to your deck, it is upgraded)

F27 Rest area. I see a rest area ahead so I choose to Recall the Ruby Key.

F28 - ? Room. Remove a Card for 75G (Remove a regular strike card since I got the Wild Strike)

F29 Merchant. Running low on Gold (151). Grab the Pen Nub (Every 10th Attack Card is Double Damage)

F30 Rest area. Rest. 67/94 HP.

Feeling a bit worried that I won't be able to deal with damage increase into Act 3, but my damage output has crazy potential.

I love all the talk of min/max because it seems there is no consensus. Most JRPG's have basically been broken down to its core elements and you know exactly what to do in order to run it most effectively. Legend of Dragoon?

Im going to detail my every decision in a game of Slay the Spire. Gonna go A2 Ironclad. I have unlocked all the Ironclad unlocks. Here I go!

Pre-Run - I chose Max HP +16 with a Curse, since a Curse should be easy to get rid of early game. Got the Decay Card as my curse.

F1 Jaw Worm fight. End it with 88/96 HP. True Grit (Gain 7 Block, Exhaust 1 Card at Random), Armaments (Gain 5 Block Upgrade a Card in Hand for Combat), or Heavy Blade (Deal 14 Damage, Strength affects card 3 times). I go with Armaments as with an upgrade it upgrades every card in my hand, for sure effective compared with HB which is random chance.

F2 Cultist fight. End with 77/96 HP. Flex (Gain 2 strength until end of turn), Inflame (Gain 2 Strength for rest of combat), Clothesline (Deal 12 Damage and Apply 2 Weak). I go with Inflame as it is useful throughout an entire combat scenario. Damn, HB + Inflame is a nice early game combo.

F3 Acid Slime and Spike Slime. End with 77/96 HP. Get a Cultist Potion (nice for longer fights, save for bosses typically). Body Slam (Deal Damage equal to block), Blood for Blood (costs 1 less energy for each time you lose HP this combat. Deal 18), Armaments (listed previously). Honestly dunno if I want any but I go with Body Slam in case I start getting block heavy card choices. If not I can remove it later.

F4 - ? area. I can Remove a Card, Transform A Card, or Upgrade. I decide to upgrade my Armaments as upgrading all cards in my hand for 1 energy is pretty strong.

F5 Looter. End with 71/96 HP. Get an Essence of Steel potion (Gain 4 plated armor). Perfected Strike (Deal 6 damage +2 for each card containing STRIKE in its name), Uppercut (Deal 13 damage and apply 1 weak and 1 vulnerable), Pummel (Deal 2 damage 4 times and exhaust). Perfected Strike is something that can become SO powerful and this early it is a natural choice.

F6 Gremlin Nob Elite Fight. End with 60/96 HP. Get a Blue Candle (can play Curse Cards and lose 1HP and exhaust them for combat), Emerald Key. Fire Breathing (whenever you draw a Status or Curse Card, deal 6 damage to all enemies), Twin Strike (deal 5 damage twice), Iron Wave (Gain 5 Black, deal 5 Damage). I go with Twin Strike as it adds to the power of Perfected Strike.

F7 - Rest area. Doing decently for health, wanna Smith instead. Decide to upgrade my Perfected Strike over my Inflame. Could go with Body Slam later so it costs 0 Energy... but Perfected Strike first.

F8 - Fungi Beast and Spike Slime. Immediate dividends on the Perfected Strike as it OHKO's the Fungi Beast. 66/96 HP. Shockwave (apply 3 weak and vulnerable to all enemies. Exhaust), Havoc (play the top card of your draw pile and exhaust it), Anger (Deal 6 damage for 0 cost, app a copy of this card to your discard pile). I go for the Anger card. You have to be careful with these cards as the IDEA behind it is great, but use them too often and you can actually be pulling too many of them to be useful come Act 3. For now I like it.

F9 - Chest. Omamori or the Sapphire Key. Pick the Key since Omamori just negates the next 2 curses. Not terrible but easy to give up for the key.

F10 - Merchant. Remove the Decay card, buy another Perfected Strike.

F11 - Sentry (x3) Elites. Drink my Plated Armor potion during combat just to offset incoming damage. 48/96 HP. Get "The Boot" (Whenever you would deal 4 or less damage, deal 5 instead). Entrench (Double Block), Barricade (Block is not removed at the start of your turn, 3 cost), True Grit (explained above). Man, again tough choice. Entrench is 2 cost to double the block but I'm not really focusing on block. Barricade has the same issue. Gonna just skip it.

F12 - Rest Area. Smith the other Perfected Strike I purchased.

F13 - ? area. I could take the Golden Idol and trigger a trap, which I do. I lose 7 Max HP.

F14 - Gremlin Nob Elite. 40/89 HP. Get Ornamental Fan (every time you play 3 attacks in a turn gain 4 block) and a Regen potion. Battle Trance (Draw 3 cards, 0 cost. Cannot draw additional cards this turn), Spot Weakness (If the enemy intends to attack, gain 3 strength), Uppercut (described above). Tough call. Spot Weakness can be a heck of a good card, but I'm gonna give Battle Trance a shot. Never really ran it before, but card draw is almost always worth it.

F15 - Rest before boss. Boss is the Flame thingy so I will take the Rest just to shore up my ability to take damage. 66/89.

F16 - Hexaghost Boss. Drink my Regen Potion on Turn 2 to help with damage incoming. My damage output didn't really require it, being overly cautious. Took it down with 27 health left. Got Fruit Juice (yeah max HP up 5). Limit Break (Double your Strength, Exhaust), Barricade (described above), Immolate (Deal 21 damage to all enemies, add a burn to your deck). Limit Break is nice but I'll go with the sustained damage pressure of immolate. Relic rewards - Coffee Dripper (Gain energy at the start of turn, can no longer rest at rest sites), Calling Bell (gain a unique curse and 3 relics), Ectoplasm (Gain energy at the start of turn, can no longer gain Gold). Based on all my playthru's, I'd rather heal than gain gold. You can get more than enough stuff from playing the game normal. Ectoplasm please!

Colorado honestly still doesn't seem like they're back to 100% after their most-recent covid shutdown. They've had 4 regulation losses since they came back, prior to the shutdown you had to go back nearly 2 months to find their last 4 regulation losses.

They have some guys on the IR or coming back from IR. I think they are still the best in their division, but getting out of there is gonna be tough. Toronto has the easiest road thru since even a tough series against the Oilers probably won't see them beat the fuck out of each other. Vegas is tough as nails.
