Yeah, people were really hoping to marry the big titty chick and the fox woman lol.

I'm afraid I have nothing to say about Legacy of Kain since I've never played it.
I can relate to that!

Oh man, if you enjoy dramatic story telling, gothic atmosphere, faux-Shakespearean dialogue, legitimately shocking and mind-bending plot twists, and... a lot of block puzzles along with dramatic changes in game play in almost every entry, you'd really like it. Not gonna lie, it's not suited to a lot of people's taste. I'm just a weirdo who really enjoys it overall. Sadly, the first game (Blood Omen) isn't available digitally and I really like that one. I think it was on the PS3 store at one point as a PS1 Classic, but I know a lot of those got taken down and just... who even has a PS3 these days. Plus, that's the PS1 version with absolutely abysmal load times.

Still, I really love the series and think about it way too much. I'll chew anyone's ear off about it if they let me.

I don't think I ever made it past the third arc on the 3DS, so here's hoping I carry it further on the switch. Rune Factory has always been weird with the difficulty spikes... You can stomp enemies in one dungeon, then get one-hit in the next. And equipment balance has always been weird too. I forged the strongest sword I could in frontier, but I couldn't damage the final boss enough before he fully healed himself. But then I upgraded my sickle to one of the highest tiers, and it sliced right through him ._.

Yeah, its only on the Wii. Came out in 2009. I played it all through the year.
That's what caused me to lose interest in 4. I got to the point I mentioned and it just turned into, "Okay, grind to make better weapons to beat this boss and be okay for a while and then go back to getting OHKO in the next area," and I was like, "You know what? I've had my fun with this, but I think I'm done."

Thats... a common complaint haha. I know a lot of people wanted to marry Sofia's older sister in 3, the cute housewife in Tides, and Illuminata. I feel the director is just teasing us at this point.

I think there's a character like that in 5 that you can't marry either lol

Also, on the note of favorite game series: literally anyone want to talk about Legacy of Kain? Cause I love those games*. I randomly got into them at some point in high school and played through all of them*. Loved the story. Think about it a lot. Went through great pains to get Soul Reaver 1 to run on my laptop with controller support (you would not BELIEVE how busted something you can buy off Steam is), but only got as far as beating Melchiah.

*Don't @ me with Blood Omen 2; I do not claim that negative energy, even if I think the existence of the game is neat from a narrative perspective.

I love all the games, glitches and all, but my favorites by far were the console games. Frontier and Tides of Destiny. A lot of people didn't like Tides, cause it was weaker in the farming department. But I feel it made up for it in all the other ways. Loved the 3D character models. Felt weird to go back to portraits with 4.
I married
1: Mist 2: Mana 3: Sofia Frontier: Never actually married, but it would be either Mist, Rosetta, Melody, or Selphie Tides: Violet 4: Never actually married

I'm playing Rune Factory 4 Special on Switch right now though. I plan to complete a full year before completing the second dungeon so I can avoid Dylas kicking my ass in every festival. Good taste though, Dylas is a handsome beast. Of course, waiting a year means I can't unlock Dolce either. >_>

And hell yeah, my body is so ready for 5. I was sad to hear about the performance issues, but maybe it will be fixed by the time of western release.

Frontier might be my favorite game of all time. Any interest in trying it out?
I really enjoyed 4 on the Switch, but I never finished the third act. I got to a point where you fight... I think it was some kind of elephant looking monster and I just couldn't get past it. It was in a snowy area. I think about going back to it and trying to unlock NG+ but I've forgotten so many of the controls and mechanics at this point that I think I would be lost. I thought about marrying... Clorica? The purple haired girl, but none of the girls really jumped out at me.

Here's hoping. I know the newest Story of Seasons game had a lot of performance issues that they're kind of fixing.

Is Frontier the one that's only on the Wii? I do technically still have the capability to play Wii games, but I'd either have to set up my Wii (which hasn't been turned on in a good five years) or my WiiU (not even sure where I put that dusty boy) and I'm lazy lol

Hi CE. Happy Friday. Let's discuss games. What is your favorite game/games/series? Even if I haven't played it, we can talk about it. I'll start.

My favorite series is Rune Factory. Been playing it since the first game came out when I was in early high school. Got every game since right after it came out.
I've only played 1 and 4 but I really liked both of them. I bought 1 years ago in a B2G1 sale at Toys R Us (I think I also bought Harvest Moon Boy & Girl on the PSP, but I can't remember what the third game was). I never got around to playing it until a year or so ago when I randomly remembered I had it, dug it out of storage, and marathoned it. I ended up marrying Melody, but there's a glitch that keeps you from using the hot springs when you do. :(

I also really liked 4. I wish the series had the option of same-sex marriage because I played as a guy and absolutely fell in love with Dylas. I could start over and play as a girl, do the sprite swap, and then marry him, but I really don't want to play the whole game over like that.

I recently bought a copy of Tides of Destiny on PS3. I played a tiny bit of it on PS Now and decided I'd get it. I haven't gotten around to actually starting it though because the intro sequence is sooooooo long.

Are you hyped for 5? I've heard it has some performance issues, but I'm interested in it.

I would do that, but I also think it would be fun to secretly help out. I'd pay off my mom's house. My grandmother is well taken care of, but I'd be able to help if the need arose.

I have a lot of cousins though. Like, I have third cousins I know about and I'm sure they'd be crawling out of the woodwork like, "Heeeeeyyyyy, I know we haven't talked in fifteen years, but what's up?"

Which i dont even disagree with her i just dont think this is the proper place to discuss.

Regardless, you're defending gunpla making the topic about herself, when this topic has nothing to do with her. Look at her first post, her first blurb is all about her. Second is calling the TC immature. Third is...just needlessly hostile, like Darmik just said.

Edit: wrote TC. I tired.
You are just babbling nonsense and for what? You're also riding real hard on the horse of "You're defending gunpla" when I just explained why people were talking about the trans situation at all. Again, if you're inferring any negative emotions or bigotry from that, that's on you. You're not as smart as you think you are. Go to bed and try again in the morning.

People really aren't seeing the connection? That's willful ignorance, y'all.

A common critique for not wanting to date a trans woman is "but what if I want kids." That's basically the situation TC is finding himself in now. His partner (a cis woman, presumably) is likely infertile and that might be a deal breaker for him.

I don't want kids. Not my own. Not someone else's. That's a deal breaker for me. I would 100% break up with someone if they had a secret kid pop up because I don't want to even be a part-time parent. The point is that you have to be consistent in your stance.

Anyway, I don't know what to tell you, TC. I suppose you should think long and hard about whether you want a future with this woman that likely won't include your biologicaloffspring.

So, I got a 360 for Christmas 2006 and rented a new game for it basically every weekend for a while. I had a decent bit of fun with Viva Pinata, but I only rented it once. Definitely not the worst 360 game I rented (that was probably Sonic 06).

I always found it kinda strange how you'd breed the pinatas.

It is in large parts of the country.

Gotta have first and last month's rent, security deposit, and a buttload of surprise fees most apartments throw at you. Don't forget the non-refundable application fee almost every apartment charges. When you add in the cost of renting a U-Haul (you're not moving your bed frame in your crappy little Honda Civic) and gas... Yeah, you need to make a lot to save up that much while still paying all your usual expenses.

For my current apartment, that would probably add up to... about four grand, just to get moved in. Oh, then you have to pay to turn on the electricity, the water, the cable, etc. Potentially have to re-register your car. Update your license. Literally none of this shit is free. This is not feasible for most workers.

So... weird thing, but my mom lived with her mom from her mid 20s through her late 40s. She did that because of me! The alternative was probably her living with my super abusive father and that probably would have resulted in both of us being dead. Then when I was 19 I moved out and have lived on my own (currently with a partner) since and I would rather be homeless than move back in with my mom. I love my mom dearly, but I stayed with her for about a week not long ago because of some issues and I was ready to tear my hair out halfway through.

Some of my friends still live with their parents. One of my buddies lived with his parents through college, moved away for a few years for a job, and then moved back in when he got a job closer to "home." It's great that he can save a ton of money on rent/utilities/food. He contributes, of course, but it's still cheaper to split that than to be responsible for all of it. I wish I didn't have to pay 1.3k in rent each month, but it's personally worth it to me to have my personal freedom.

I also have friends who didn't have much choice in the matter. I have one friend who lived with her parents because she had a bevy of medical issues. Another friend had a manipulative, abusive mother who took advantage of him until he couldn't put up with it anymore.

I also used to have a friend who would brag about how he has his own home (that his father gave to him). That dude was a turd and would be baffled when everyone else would not have money because most of us had rent to pay. He'd constantly buy new games, books, etc., want to go out to eat and go to the movies, arcade, etc. every week and it's like, "Dude, most of us are barely getting by." That dude effectively still lived with his parents because his dad paid for the biggest expenses.

So, I have mixed feelings. It has been my PERSONAL experience that some people who live with their parents can struggle to understand the financial burden of paying rent. One of my friends always talks shit about how underwhelming my laptop is because he has some "holy shit" 3k setup that can run everything at like 120 FPS while I paid $500 for my first new laptop in six years. It can run FFXIV and some lower-end games and that's fine with me.

You can have mediocre to bad versions of a lot of these toppings and the burger will still be decent.

A bad tomato slice ruins the entire thing. Even if you take it off, the juices remain. You get a nice, fresh, juicy slice? Perfect. But you rarely get that at fast food joints where some poor soul is getting slammed with orders and their pea-brained sycophant micromanager is screaming at them to get every order out in under 45 seconds.

Now that I have my own place, my cats will never go outside. They get supervised time out on my screened in patio, but I don't leave them out there alone. They have plenty of toys, scratching posts, and towers to climb. They're happy and healthy. They will, hopefully, live to be very old and never know suffering or pain for as long as I'm able to care for them.

There's a wing shortage right now, so they've probably raised the prices.

Some places just offer absolutely shitty "deals" like that though. I get coupons in the mail from KFC with such steals as "3pc chicken tender combo for $7.99" or "Add an order of fries for $3." Fast food and fast casual restaurants in general have jacked their prices way up to the point that it's unaffordable. A combo for a mediocre burger, fries, and a drink is over $10 at McDonald's.

Seems like a bad idea to have pets where one could be a meal for the other.

I have cats and I've thought about getting a hamster but ultimately decided against it because one of these little jerks would definitely attack it.

While this crime is heinous, I don't think people murdering cats is all that common. Or is it and I'm out of touch?
Lots of sociopaths torture and kill animals. So do budding serial killers (and there are a lot more of them out there than ever get reported).

Is it a guarantee that if you let Mr. Fluffy Biscuits outside that someone is going to snatch him up and torture him before killing him? No, of course not. But between that, the danger of getting ran over by a car, getting attacked by dogs, getting eaten by foxes or coyotes, getting sick, etc., it just doesn't seem worth the risk.

But hey, I'm just someone whose mom felt sympathy for all the strays in the neighborhood and fed them. It's not like I saw firsthand what happened to them. I certainly never saw the mangled body of one I'd gotten particularly attached to smeared on the road the morning I had to take an algebra mid-term. I definitely never found an entire litter of kittens after they'd been mauled by the neighbor's shitty little Boston Terrier. And there's absolutely zero chance that a lot of the cats just... disappeared one day and I could only imagine what might have happened to them.

Keep your fucking cats inside, people. Princess isn't "depressed" because she can't go outside. Play with her and she'll be fine. Buy them toys and structures to stimulate their mind and give them a physical outlet. This shit isn't hard.

I was a little kid in rural Alabama, but I was also on a few message boards, so I got to see people's outrage.

I remember it being very scandalous at the time, but it seems so tame now.
