i thought it was more "the NiGHTS guy game"

i played a bit of the demo and i did enjoy it, however it does have some flaws that make gameplay a bit clunky. it's also, like, very clearly designed for children - not in the sense of like "well lots of games are made to be enjoyed by both kids and adults alike" but like... "nah this is just highly tuned towards children"

but that was just the demo, i could be wrong. i'd buy the full game but not at release.

those damage numbers are way too high

it's just a plot dump. you walk through hallways and read a bunch of info and then some people show up and explain the plot to you. there isn't even a case to solve.

man i'm a danganronpa hater (okay mostly i just hate the first game's cast) and even i wouldn't say there are any cases i "don't have a single good thing to say about" other than 2-6

i think every other case in the series is fine, even if some of them are sort of underwhelming or have a few contrived moments.

Basically Sayaka, Chihiro, Celeste, Sakura are the only other competent ones (of non-survivors), and even then, half of those people don't really get to do much with it.

i've been considering playing xenogears since i never have and it's the biggest psx rpg i've never played

but i'm very put off by constantly hearing that disc 2 was rushed and that the story basically just gets told in a long monologue or something?

yes, i didn't really imagine there are people who view him as a person first and as a symbol of the movement second, but perhaps. if he had been known before the incident it'd be more likely, but he was not. either way, i can't read this girl's mind.

i like your heuristic that something is racist only if they were doing it specifically because of the person's skin color (i.e. if she'd do it with a white person's death it shows her intent is not racist)

however it's a bit difficult in this case because the person being joked about is well-known entirely because of his race, and the situation being joked about is directly related to race

so i can't quite hypothesize "would she do it about a white person"

the reason it's insensitive is because george flloyd, to many people, is sort of a symbol of "we don't feel safe in this country. we feel we are in danger if cops ever talk to us", and joking about something that makes people feel that level of pain is probably not a good idea (depends on audience! some audiences may be cool with this, but this is pretty public)

and since the reason its insensitive is directly tied to a racial dynamic, i feel that justifies the term "racially insensitive", which is a different term than "racist" and can apply regardless of intent

sure but "everybody" is still just you and TUM in that case so its a bit of a misleading term
