No

I recall her being okay in Season One, then growing progressively more annoying as the show continued.

TheCodeisBosco

The people making threats like this... they do realize every national chain in TX is still going to require masks too, right? There's no way, say, McDonald's or Target is going to lift mask restrictions locally in the state. The nationwide court of public opinion would catch wind of it and nail them to the cross.

With that in mind, the people bullying mom and pop restaurants like this seem totally out-of-touch with reality, and in this case, racist.

On a lighter note, though, how cool is it that this restaurant has a mariachi band at their curbside pickup station?

I ran into a similar problem with Northern Exposure. Famous show, highly successful in its heyday... not streaming anywhere. At least the complete series DVD set is reasonably priced, although it apparently lacks a good deal of the music originally used.

I might have to buy the All in the Family DVDs too, it's fantastic and I've never actually seen the whole show front-to-back.

Friggin love the Saturn. Allow me to reel in the years for a bit.

I played the Sega Saturn for the first time in the 90s at a kids' haircut place. The game was Sonic R and I fucking loved it... for the brief time I got to play it. But unlike most video game systems in those days, secondhand Saturn hardware/software prices never really dipped, so I didn't get to own one until many years later. I lucked out and got a boxed one for $30 in either 2010 or 2011.

It's my favorite Sega system. NiGHTS Into Dreams is in my personal top ten games ever, and I have great memories with Daytona USA, Clockwork Knight, SCUD, Fighters Megamix and others. I've never owned any of the sought-after games like Panzer Dragoon Saga or Saturn Bomberman, but that's alright.

I haven't played it since my undergrad days... need to get it hooked back up. And really, if anyone here is considering buying one, I'd recommend it; Saturn software is notoriously tough to emulate.

TheCodeisBosco

Regardless of what states do about their mask mandates, no major business is going to lift their own mask rules and subject themselves to a blitzkrieg of bad PR. Even localized changes would be an optics disaster. If, say, Burger King decided that masks were no longer required in their Mississippi stores, the rest of the country would still catch wind of it and give them hell.

I'm not going to pretend that wearing masks doesn't suck. It absolutely does, and I can't wait to chuck mine in a bonfire once this is all over. But we're still at a point where we have to keep wearing them, regardless of the posturing some states are doing.

This is the best article I could find concerning TA -

https://www.freightwaves.com/news/reflecting-strong-trucking-market-ta-sold-huge-amounts-of-diesel-in-q4-2020

Seems like it's a mix of low Q4 margins and loss of restaurant revenue. The latter should solve itself as the vaccines do their thing, and while TA isn't an oil stock per se, I do think it'll receive a halo effect due to how strong oil stocks have been lately.

From personal experience, I'd go with Georgia. I get douche chills whenever I approach the ATL traffic, and the drivers throughout the state are fucking nuts.

Alabama is a runner-up. It's just flat-out depressing to drive through and speed traps become increasingly common as you approach Florida. While North Carolina is a great state, it can be a bear to drive through as well; I strongly prefer to fly to Charlotte instead of drive there.

K181 posted...
Indiana for me. Their highways are congested messes, though I'm granted always driving through to somewhere else when I drive there.

West Virginia is gorgeous to drive through.

Yeah, West Virginia might actually be one of the best states to drive through. Amazing scenery, some fascinating hollers, cheap gas, plenty of opportunities to stop at regional chains like Sheetz and Tudor's Biscuit World, and the Tamarack/Beckley Travel Plaza is a GOAT travel plaza. The only negative is the prevalence of tolls in Southern WV.

I lived in a dorm during freshman year. Would have stayed the entire four years, but that wasn't an option financially. But man, that year was one of the best experiences of my life. It definitely wasn't a party school, but most everyone was good-natured and it was a laid-back, wholesome experience.

Some of the moments that stick with me:

-The guy who was trying to collect every color of Nintendo 64 and would generously set up a console and games in the common space every now and then.

-Someone playing 2 Chainz - "Birthday Song" at full volume eleven times in a row. This happened on my second day, and I took it as a sign that I was home.

-The quintessential "ditzy freshman" causing a fire alarm by attempting to cook chicken at 1 a.m.

-The quiet girl who invited me over to watch Salad Fingers. This is a hell of a thing to show someone you barely know, and she played every episode. Then at the end, she quietly asked: "Wanna watch it again?" I said yes and would do it again.

-The guy who pretended to be a "badass" twin of himself to win over a girl who rejected him. He was egged on to do this by one of her friends, who didn't live in the dorms and ended up being a bit of a basket case in her own right. Okay, this was one of the parts that wasn't wholesome, but it was like watching a really good "Cartman and Butters" South Park episode in real life. As an added bonus, "twin guy" was my roommate.

At the moment, I'm living in a shitty neighborhood with the worst, most needle-nosed neighbors I've ever had. I've never missed the dorm days more.
