Yeah, pretty simple, really. I think Biden would've lost to more or less anyone else within reason. I know a fair number of people who typically vote GOP that voted for Biden or usually don't vote and voted for him because they hated Trump so much. He was my first ever vote for a democrat for President.

If she is 18 I don't think I can really do anything, I suppose if she's still living at home I can pull the "my house, my rules!" card. Generally speaking I would not be in favor of such a big age difference, particularly when she's 18. It's always weird but when she's 38 and he's 55 it doesn't seem as bad.

Five year was a big deal, people came into town for it and stuff. We rented a banquet room or whatever at a local restaurant. I went.

Ten was totally skipped. >_>

Fifteen had an evening at a sports bar that I didn't go to and lunch the next day at a park that I stopped at briefly on my lunch break, but was working that day. All well and good, I don't think anyone who had moved away bothered coming back for it, though. Obviously by this point a lot of people have kids and stuff so I'm sure travel is more difficult.

20... uh, is this year. I'm in a facebook group that's supposed to be planning it and no one has posted in months and months lol. I do keep up with the people I really care about, but I got along with everyone so I'm not opposed to the idea if someone else wants to plan it--but I assume it'd be like 15 and just be the local people that I see around from time to time anyway.

I thought you did it at the school so you could reminisce. What was everyone else's like? How did your classmates look?

I'd like to go to the old school one last time, it's apparently going to be torn down or renovated into something different soon and the school is getting a new building. Not sure when, but probably before 25 year reunion.

Most people looked roughly the same. Less hair and more bodyweight overall I suppose. One fat guy got really skinny and one skinny girl was really fat now, I guess that was the most interesting occurrence in that regard.

I never understood why abortion is so tied to religion. Like, okay, I can see how you'd say that an unborn is either a human life or at least potentially so and therefore to kill it would be wrong. But that's not really anything overtly biblical. >_>

But yeah I've gotten into arguments with people along those lines. While circumstantially I think it should be legal, I'm theoretically "against" abortion, but I also think that, since obviously people WILL get pregnant no matter how much you preach abstinence or encourage birth control, you have to offer them a social safety net that will likely cause a lot of mothers who would get an abortion because they don't think they can financially handle the situation to reconsider when they know there is help available.

Eh, every day I see multiple posts on my local social media pages about such and such store is closing early or not going to be open for the day because of staffing issues. So it's a problem but I wouldn't equate it with laziness--either the wages are too low or the unemployment benefits are too high. I've been working all along but honestly if I was laid off, while I'd like to go to work *in theory*, if I can literally make more money by not working it seems kind of dumb not to. >_> And hey for a lot of the low paying jobs that are having problems now, these people are barely getting by, so it isn't just "lol I don't want to work" but they are having a much easier time providing for their family now and that's difficult to give up even if your internal drive is telling you that you should be working.

There are a relatively large number of disillusioned Republicans, like myself. But a lot of us have come to the realization that this problem has been festering in the Republican party for far longer than just a few years, and I honestly don't think the Republicans ever deserve to be in power again after what they did. And who they've clearly shown themselves to be. I can't ever risk allowing that kind of insanity to happen again, knowing they were too chickenshit to stand up against it.

You really can't be an economic conservative and a social liberal, and somehow use that as justification to be a Republican anymore. There are plenty of economic conservatives in the Democratic party who aren't racist assholes, so our best bet is just go with them instead.

Yeah, I was always one of those, "Hey quit with the stereotypes, sure there are some weird, screwy republicans but most are great and trying to do the right thing!" But the Trump era really opened my eyes to most of the negative stereotypes being true about most republicans, they just hid it until Trump made it cool, or something. I've been all "Hey my fellow republicans, this doesn't represent us, we have to stand against it!" and almost everyone I know is either, "NO this is the greatest ever, MAGA!" or "Yeah Trump is kind of dumb but hey he's not a democrat, so..."

That said I've always liked Mittens and Kasich and this Rep. Kinzinger that came into a bit of prominence more recently seems cool.

EDIT: and duh, Mike Nelson.

And now sometimes I go outside of work because I have a three year old and most three year olds love Happy Meals. >_>

That said I don't hate them, they have okay and relatively inexpensive iced coffee, and not sure if its a nationwide thing or just locally but all soft drinks are $1 which is nice. So on the rare occasion I get lunch there I can only spend a couple bucks and get a drink and a McChicken.
