I don't generally agree with the death penalty... or I am at least wary on it.

But as a father, to me, this man deserves the death penalty. What an absolutely revolting and horrible act. Makes my heart hurt.

They did an Adam Ruins Everything segment on this. IIRC, being pointed out factual information to disprove someone will often make them dig their feet into the dirt and push harder against the facts. It's been a long time since I've seen the episode but it had something to do with them believing the facts so truly that you pointing them out for being wrong is like an attack on their identity and so they push back even more forcefully.

I'm at work so I can't look up the clip, but you should try and find it. Actually I think it's called "Why Proving Someone Wrong Often Backfires". It's only like a minute 40 clip.

Yes I shake my head and laugh that their shitty ending not only fucked them for syndication but it killed the other show. Imagine being the jackass who was the deciding vote or approved the canon ending and then all the backlash that caused the other show to not even have a chance.

HIMYF was the same idea almost but had they not fucked up on the original show the second show might still be on now.

I would venture to guess they would have at least had a chance to be picked up.

the actual ending makes sense if you watch the show again with the knowledge of what happens in the finale, you can see them clearly setting it up from way back.

the real problem with HIMYM is that it went on too long. the creators obviously didnt expect it to last 9 seasons so as it went on, character arcs went all over the place as the show evolved

It might make sense, but it doesn't make it good. And they had already planned a contingency in the first season for Victoria to be the mother instead if they were cancelled. By the time season 9 rolled around they shoulda realized the Robin Ted crap was burned all the way through and changed course. Instead they dug their head in the sand and stuck with what turned out to be a disaster of a finale.

The funny thing is, IIRC this basically cost them the other show they were planning too. How I Met Your Father? After the backlash from the finale, the show was never picked up.

I didn't even watch the show(beyond an episode here or there) but I heard the finale was absolutely shit. And having finally seen it, damn. I can't believe they dropped the ball THAT hard. It really was absolute shit.

The crazy thing was they basically built the Mother up so much that it was almost impossible for them to get her to be as likeable as people would have expected. And then somehow, they did. She was lauded and everyone loved her.

And then they turn around and *spoilers*

Kill her and have Ted go back to Robin.

And it just was so stupid and horribly done.

Also I've found that some people that really love dogs a lot hate cats in a really intense weird way.

Like if you bring up cats they'll be like "oh my god, fuck cats, I hate cats! Let em all die." Or something to that effect. I have lost count of how many times I have encountered this IRL.

Dog people have a very strange one sided emotion towards cats. Cat people, in my experience, either like dogs or are indifferent to them. Dog people (unless they are dog and cat people), very often loathe cats and actively disparage them at any chance. It's an extremely odd phenomenon.

Check out a book called "healing back pain" by John Sarno.

I was told I had 2 herniated discs in 2013 and they said I needed surgery. I decided not to do it because my wife was pregnant, I had just gotten a new job and we just bought our first house.

The book helped me. And I've known multiple people who got surgeries. From what I gather. One surgery leads to many surgeries.

Worth a shot. Goodluck.

Doesn't surprise me at all. There was so much less traffic on the road and most people took that as an invitation to go 30-35 mph over the speed limit.

I generally go 15MPH above when I'm in the fast lane and they were zipping up on me going double that easily. Eventually just stopped going in the fast lane since it wasn't worth the headache.

New IPO's almost always have this strange period where they go really high when it debuts... but then it drops down for a little while before going back up.

Not sure if Roblox will be the same but I'm keeping an eye on it. If it gets down in the 40's I may jump on it.

My wife and I have a dog watching business and German Shepherds are one of the only ones we now refuse to watch.

Early on (7 years ago when we started) we watched like 4-5 within a 4 month span and they were brutal.

The breed suffers from extreme anxiety when they are left alone. This can lead to aggression (we didn't experience that thankfully) and bad behavior (experienced alot of that). They also whine and bark a ton when they're left alone (like they're downstairs and not allowed upstairs into the bedrooms alone).

They can can very loyal and affectionate to their owners though. Just a bit high maintenance.

A lot of states are "at will" states. Like mine. which means they can fire you at any time they want, no questions asked.

In my situation it was clear they were trying to deny me unemployment which is why they came up with what they did. I spoke to lawyers about suing and they basically said the only way a lawyer would take it, is if what they did made it difficult or impossible for me to get a job. Basically if they slandered me. I got a job 5 weeks later, so no lawyer would even remotely consider taking that case.

There's one thing I learned a few years ago... if a company wants to fire you, they'll figure out a way to fire you.

Years ago the company I was working with tried multiple ways to get me written up and I always had an answer they couldn't account for.

Until they claimed I stole product from the company. They fired me on the spot. I found out later, because my mother in law worked for the accounting department, that the product the dinged me on seemed to show the reverse at the store my district manager worked out of. In other words, my store was 3 short and the store he worked out of was 3 over.

In any event, they tried to deny me unemployment but after I spoke to the office and had a hearing, it was established they literally had no proof and I was extended unemployment.

Found out later they promoted a guy making about 8k less a year than me. So at the end of the day, it was all a money thing.

Also ended up being a good thing for me to get away from that toxic company.

Hopefully it ends up better for your wife.
