Excellent job with running these polls. I can't believe we basically got these polls right up to GAA. It's a new outlook on this series I love so much.

Tell the Truth: AAI1 > JFA > AJ > T&T > PW1 > DD > SOJ >AAI2 > Layton-L > Great > Layton-E

A really amazing batch of songs. AAI1's Tell the Truth might be the best song in the series. It really sears the moments this song plays into your mind. It made something as stupid as (E-2) Zinc falling over the rail incredibly memorable. I tend to enjoy the more chill songs like JFA and AJ...even though they kind of don't really fit the overall emotion of Tell the Truth.

Pursuit: AAI2 > PW1 > DD > Layton-L > T&T > AAI1 > SOJ > Great > Layton-E > AJ > JFA

Yeah, I fully admit I'm nostalgic for PW1's Cornered. It's such a jam. So simple, but so good. But I like AAI2 a little bit more for basically grabbing everything I want in an AA Pursuit theme.

As for OSTs, I'll give my thoughts on each:

PW1 - One of the main things I learned from doing all those music polls is how damn good the PW1 OST is. It did a ton right and it just has that timeless feel to it. I'm especially impressed with the non-court music. Even stuff like Happy People just has that memorable charm that the other games mostly miss on. Standout Tracks: Pursuit, Gumshoe, Steel Samurai

JFA - JFA at its best has songs that are really good with conjuring mood. Most songs have some degree of melancholy to it, but they also nail Great Revival, which is all about that elegant triumph that captures Edgeworth and Franziska so well. Standout Tracks: Investigation Middle, Investigation Core, Fire Carves Scar

T&T - T&T is a little slippery. I think it has the strongest OST, but it's hard to overlook that it literally is missing songs, especially Investigation Core. That said, I love what T&T came up with. The court music is consistently the best in the entire series. By its side, there's also strong reminiscence themes and character themes. Standout Tracks: Trial Opens, Cross Examination Allegro, Pursuit

AJ - AJ is funny because its OST has such a clear soundchip with it, kinda similar to how RSE has such a distinct sound for Pokemon OSTs. It's very obvious when the AJ song plays when you hear it in a montage. It's nice and enjoyable, but never really gets out of the OT's shadow. Appropriate. Standout Tracks: Objection, Drew Studio, Tell the Truth

AAI - Hope you like Great Revival. I do. I love the tone of AAI and it has some really strong court music. Before these polls, this would probably be my pick for best OST. Standout Tracks: Tell the Truth, Cross Examination Presto, Tricks and Baroque

AAI2 - Honestly I'm not really sure why I love this soundtrack a lot, but I like most of the parts that make up the OST. In a way, it kind of reminds me of T&T where there's just a ton of really memorable songs and a lot of different emotions throughout the whole OST. Standout Tracks: Pursuit, Cross Examination Allegro, Logic Chess

PLvPW - Surprisingly good. I'm not always a fan of the English remixes of the PW1 songs, but the Labyrinthian music is all very good. It feels really unique in the same way AJ does, but it actually does something with those songs to make them enjoyable to listen to. Standout Tracks: Pursuit, Mass Inquisition Allegro, Courtroom's Magician

DD - I'm surprised how low DD is on the ranking for me. There are some high highs and having 3 distinct Objections honestly does a lot for the soundtrack. But a lot of the background music is fairly uninteresting. Standout Tracks: Objection Athena, Objection Apollo, Pursuit

Great - These polls taught me how much context matters for music. It's really hard for me to get attached to Great Ace Attorney until I fully get through both games. One good thing is that the instruments seem to be similar to PLvPW. Standout Tracks: N/A

SOJ - SOJ is, in a lot of ways, DD+. Great highs but the background music is much better. A lot of that is because I just really enjoy the Khura'in music choices. Standout Tracks: Objection Athena, Ethnic Andistan'dhin, Audience Chamber

T&T > AAI1 > AAI2 > PW1 > SOJ > PLvPW > JFA > DD > AJ

The DD themes and SOJ themes are real good. I think I prefer Athena DD to Athena SOJ because it gives off more of that "Sailor Moon" vibe they were going for.

I'm so glad DD and SOJ remixed T&T instead of PW1. PW1's is nice, but the T&T one has a better tune and just feels more victorious than PW1's.

I defend JFA's soundtrack more than most, but the Objection and the Pursuit is the weakest in the series for me. JFA's Objection almost sounds comical with those opening notes like "whooptee doo".

I thought for sure that The Courtroom's Magician was the "Tell the Truth" variant for PLvPW, but it looks like they have their own song literally titled "Tell the Truth." Whoops! Definitely should have been a pick for the best of the rest.

I don't know why AAI decided to do Presto versions, but they're amazing. AAI1 Presto is even better than AAI1 Lying Coldly. AAI2 Presto seems oddly low-energy.

Layton Mass and AJ Allegro have parts that really get stuck in my head, especially Layton Mass. I always love the Layton instruments and it's used so well in Mass.

I'm impressed with how different Moderato and Allegro are for JFA and Great Ace Attorney.

T&T has such a strong direction in its trial songs. I love its orderly feeling with intensity hiding behind it.

I have an unreasonable amount of love for AAI1 Moderato. The melody just hits the right note for me. I think this is the only Moderato I prefer over Allegro.

PW1 has a good melody but the instrumentation is a little too harsh and aggressive. The Layton remix does well with it.

I actually really like the core melody of AAI2, but Moderato adds these unfortunate aggressive instruments that kinda sink the song for me. I think it's actually the same instruments they use for Marsh's theme, which is absurd. Allegro swaps the Moozilla sounds with a glimmery mirror effect and the song is much better for it.

I have very extreme opinions on 6-1! I love the original instrumentation and the switch is a nice gag, but worse music all around.

E2-4 and 5-2 are kinda similar. Dramatic music that is more fitting for a final boss. I just think E2-4 is more appropriate but 5-2 is a bit of a guilty pleasure.

I never noticed how hard 5-5 goes until now.

Id say both days are pretty equal in strength!

I always loved 3-1 and 1-5 for how foreboding they are in hindsight when you know the extent of who they are. Their themes definitely hide who they are and are thematically appropriate for them.

3-3 is great, but I always felt the official jazz cover is just too good. The original version just feels lacking in comparison.

Props to E1-5 for spoiling the final case's culprit in the title! The bombastic approach is pretty appropriate for this character.

I legitimately forgot about E2-2 and E1-2 even having themes.

Fire Emblem, even though the first English version is 7. Even though they were popular games, they're definitely nowhere near the basically A-level Nintendo franchise that it is since Awakening.

I think Abyss has a pretty good OST. Maybe a 6.5/10 or a 7/10. At the very least, Id say most of the battle music in Abyss is great.

4-2's theme was always really cool. I think this theme actually overrides the Detention Center, which is good. 4-3 gives me some major OOT vibes.

E2-5's theme justifies the aggressive instruments used in AAI2's soundtrack in general.

Larry's theme in T&T has that GBA soundchip crunch, but I kinda like it. The SOJ one lost its crunchiness and feels a lot less peppy and unique as a result.

Knightley is great. I love his Ocelot-esque revolver juggling as well. Just a really great one-case villain that ends up fitting in perfectly for AAI2's mastermind narrative. Kay definitely takes a backseat in this game, but her E2-4 appearance is so good that she deserves to be up here.

Ray's great, but definitely a casualty of the bloated cast. Out of all the AAI characters, I feel him and Lang really should get used in the main series.

I don't really care for Courtney in E2-5 either. Playable Gregory didn't occur to me at first but it makes so much sense. I love his film noir-esque look, which looks even more ridiculous in E2-3's setting.

Logic Chess and Mood Matrix definitely a step-up on everything else here. I chose Endgame over Opening because...well...seems to follow the same logic as Allegro > Moderato on Cross-Examination.

I always really liked the eerie effect of Perceive and Psyche-Lock, but it's not enough to carry the stronger core melodies of Logic Chess and Mood Matrix.

I had no idea that Little Thief changed so much from AAI to AAI2. The computer sounds always clashed a little too hard with the general elegance of the AAI OST. I think it works way better with the investigation music from AAI2.

I'm glad that you see that E2-1 is so good. AAI is kinda mediocre in all cases, while AAI2 tries to make every case epic. It definitely crumbles under its weight in E2-2 and E2-4. E2-1 is packed so tightly that it soars really well. Only 3-1 really rivals it for intro cases.

He never feels threatening, nor do I ever feel sorry for him. At most, I am annoyed.

I'd argue that's kind of Keyes' point! He's not really a final boss. He's basically the hero of his own story. But his story is so inherently flawed that Edgeworth exposes him for the villain that he is. I also like the fact that he's different than most of the final bosses.

I think her name is Katherine Hall? But yeah, Masters and Hall are both really great and add a lot to E2-3.

I really like Sebastian Debeste. I don't think I would like Courtney nearly as much if Debeste wasn't there. They're a really good rival duo to Edgeworth. Edgeworth conversations with Debeste are so good. I think his climax is pretty good even though it's the worst part of E2-5.

I'm a big Fire Emblem: Fates fan. Conquest is probably my favorite Fire Emblem.

The story is definitely not the reason why.

I always loved Mask*DeMasque's theme. I think I like the 3-2 intro version more, but this one is still just as good. Troupe Gramarye is really catchy, one of the better AJ tracks. Kee'ra has such a good intense melody to it and those Khura'in instruments, yesss. Steel Samurai is another really good theme. It honestly sounds timeless, which I can't really say for a lot of AA1 songs...!

I wish there was an instrumental version of Norma's Swashbucklers theme.

You know, if Troupe Gramarye is here, shouldn't Mr. Reus be here too? That's a pretty good theme and would probably be around Kee'ra for me here.

It does a lot of things right. I'd give it a 10 but there's a few core things that the game doesn't handle too well. The final route (Gouto) felt pretty weak and the "core" romance of Kurabe and Megumi might honestly be one of the worst of the canon relationships. In the grand scheme of things, those are both kinda minor but I think it keeps me from giving it a 10.

Our toupee-throwing phenomenon is back. He's still a really bad liar. Kind of a fun cameo, but imagine if this game played E2-2 a bit more seriously and had someone important to the lore fill this role like... Von Karma or something.

Not sure if I want von Karma to be a lackey to Roland! I liked Sahwit. It was honestly a really fitting cameo. I guess the worst thing about Sahwit's cameo is that it preps you to believe the locked down prisoner to also be a former AA character.

E1-5 has Lang at his best. I really wish AAI2 used Lang more, because he's pretty underused in both games. Then again, AAI2 already suffers from a really bloated cast.

Damn. I haven't heard the ending songs in a looong time, but the 2 songs from JFA and the T&T credits just instantly teleported me back. Great songs. It's pretty difficult to rank these due to the length and general sound, but T&T and JFA are way above the rest, with I-2 Revival being decently above the rest.

Rise from the Ashes credits is really strange to me. Totally feels out of place here.

This is a pretty interesting selection of songs. I see the argument for putting Fate and Suspense together, but man, it's pretty weird going from a Suspense song to a Fate song.

Another song where 1 just sets the trend moving forward. It's pretty good but the later versions do it better. I'm usually not a fan of the Layton/GAA instrumentation, but I think it works particularly well for this theme in particular.

I always liked that Hotline of Fate utilized JFA's Cornered theme but also flips the script so it sounds alarming more than triumphant. Problem is that JFA's Cornered theme is not that good!
