Ground Zeroes is like an 8/10, since it's so hilariously short. Besides the shortness, it's like a 10/10 tho!

Phantom Pain is probably an 8/10, for being so obviously unfinished. If they finished it, it'd be a 10/10!

As a combined package, ehhh 9/10 I guess. Not perfect, not a must play, but really awesome!

dang this is such a good question

I really cannot think of an answer... I'm so good at quitting games I hate...

Looking at Steam... oh here we go, somehow I reached 21 hours of Ticket to Ride, which I only played online with friends. I don't like Ticket to Ride at all, terrible board game.

Best I can find besides that: Phasmophobia, 7 hours, I despise that too. I guess it took 7 hours to be sure I hated it though, I was on the fence up til then.

I guess I did play a lot of Gex: Enter the Gecko as a kid though.

EDIT: OH the topic title specified 50 hours. Well dang. I bet I did 50+ hours of Gex, sure.

I love the writeup summaries :)

Any favorite songs so far?

Yeah I would say the combat never really gets "interesting". Definitely not on a Micro-management level, anyway.

The combat just kinda gives a purpose to the Macro game, giving you a reason to explore and hunt for weapons and materia, giving you a reason to get excited about trying out new materia, giving you a reason to level up particular materia.

And...well, it's just fun to strategically junction All materias. That's basically FF7 gameplay in a nutshell IMO, just a lot of junctioning All materia with stuff, and then changing your mind and junctioning it with something else.

here's something funny, you're like 4 hours in now right? if you put that many hours into FF7:Remake, you'd probably still be hanging out in sector 7, after the first bombing run!

TopicHow was reddit able to ascend to being the 'front page of the internet'?

I'm assuming you're talking about new reddit, which is yeah, disgusting.

BUT you can go back to https://old.reddit.com , the most usable website of all time, and then, I forget how, but there's some button to click that's like "never show me new reddit ever again". It totally works, they haven't shown me new reddit in many years.

It's been like 3-4 years of new reddit, and it doesn't seem like they'll ever get rid of old reddit, because SO many people despise new reddit.

~~~
As for WHY they made new reddit so terrible, I work in web development, and facebook's "React" framework (and similar frameworks) are becoming extremely popular across the industry. You can't get away from them. They're called "SPA frameworks" (or "single page application frameworks"). If you make a website without using one of these, you get looked at weird.
And these frameworks greatly encourage this style of website we're talking about, where every website feels like a weird homebrewed new operating system every time, instead of a simple series of webpages.
Ironically, I don't think these frameworks are becoming popular because people like the results...
Instead, they're becoming popular because it's more fun to write code this way. Developers love to write little interactive pop ups and layers and buttons, and the tutorials for these frameworks don't really teach you any other way to build a website.
Seriously, I talk to colleagues and ask them "can we please just build a usable site this time" and they're like "noooooo I will quit, it's way too much fun to build them this way".
TopicIs No Man's Sky worth buying now?
Here's my take, when it came out, I was interested in it, so I bought it. And I pretty much never hated a game more, in my life. Ugly, bland, janky, aimless, and annoying. Completely loathed everything about it.
Every update, people would say "oh it's so much better now", and I would redownload it, and I could tell it was slightly better, but I still absolutely hated it. It made me want to vomit, just looking around.
Haven't played it in a year or so though, so it could theoretically be good now! I still feel the temptation to try it again, even after all these disappointments, because I do love procedural generation so much, fundamentally.
seems pretty much perfect, from the games I've played.
eh I think link between worlds is better than link to the past, though
