She was basically just the generic sexy girl trope in the original, only serving to give Bugs Bunny a love interest and be reminiscent of Jessica Rabbit. That said, her redesign looks more cartoony without straying too far from the original. Its actually a nice middle ground. Wonder what her personality will be like.

Are politics really being pushing in anyone's faces more so than they were before though?

With the advent of social media and the way it dominates our culture, yeah, I'd say so. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, SnapChat, YouTube, TikTok, etc. are all still relatively new ways by which we receive, digest, and distribute information. And if you thought the media couldn't be trusted beforehand...

Who's "the media"? Gamers do a good job fanning the flames themselves? Have you ever been on /v/? You have any idea how many people are constantly finding things to be outraged over on there?

No, I haven't been on /v/, so no, I'm not aware. It sounds like many of you are operating off the basis that a good chunk of gamers are deplorable people in general, to which I can't attest one way or the other.

Some do, but that's not who I'm talking about. If black people getting killed by police makes you uncomfortable in a way that encourages you to downplay the situation, then you're obviously part of the problem.

That's not what he's saying, but rather what you're strawmanning. Ironically, I don't even agree with him. I just don't think such sentiments necessarily come from a place of malice. I think most people are just under-educated/misguided.

You're not even black, are you

I am, but it doesn't matter. If it surprises you that much that a black person would say the things I'm saying, then feel free to just assume I'm white. It's not like I care enough to prove you wrong, so you'll ever know for sure.

I think you're being way too naive in how you're assessing these people. People like to gaslight and throw up smokescreens. I have no doubt in my mind that at least some of these people regularly use the n-word, probably follow "alternative news" sources like Breitbart, post on 4chan, etc.

People who say they don't see color usually tend to be pretty racist. Everyone acting like just trying to spotlight blacks in the video game industry is racist in and of itself tend to ignore that the video game industry is also like 98% white in America. It's so funny how they'll see nothing really wrong with that but this is what they choose to waste their energy hating. I've been around too many gamer types irl who seemed like decent people but who turned out to be pretty grossly racist to know that these people, who say a lot of the same kind of shit, are probably saying the same shit when no one's looking too.

I mean, you could be right. Perhaps I'm giving these people way too much benefit of a doubt. I just don't like to do the opposite, either. Trump empowered a lot of closet racists to be bold and brash about their bigotry, so maybe this is some of that residual energy. Or maybe people are so sick of having politics shoved in their face that they're now lashing out at anything that seems remotely "woke", without actually critically assessing things on a case-by-case basis. Maybe it's both. Again, the media fans these flames, especially with the ever-growing popularity of "influencers" -- many of whom contribute to the brainwashing. I mainly just feel sorry for everyone.

Here are just a few of the comments that immediately pop up when I click on the video:

"This is wrong on every level, gaming was the last stand from the political polarization in entertainment. I am mad about this, why does someone's race matter as to devote an entire video to a race? This channel would be cancelled if you changed the race to white people (and rightfully so)."

"People go on about colour this and colour that and black this and racism that. The more shit like this black history happens the more it just pushes the whole problem. If we really want everyone to be supposedly equal this kind of thing needs to stop. It just causes further segregation. No other race has a history month its ridiculous."

"Here's a novel idea, stop categorizing people based on the color of their skin."

"It doesn't matter what people's color is. They only thing that really matters is a person's quality as a human being. When you categorize people as black or white you are the one trying to separate them"

"I see, because people don't agree with racial separatism, believing that all people are as one, and shouldn't be determined by colour they are racist? What a strange, warped sense of reality you have."

^See, I don't think comments like these are racist. I honestly think they come from a decent place, but unfortunately aren't being shaped by a nuanced understanding of what minorities have gone through to get where they are today. That, combined with the fact that the media has largely ignited the flames of civil unrest and racial division, is what I think causes people to be so immediately defensive about these matters. Now, of course there are legitimate racists everywhere; I'm just not painting everyone with such a broad stroke. I like to look at things more psychologically, instead of just hurling derogatory labels at those who, on the surface, seem "bad".

So why are they annoyed ?

Because of the comments I've seen, they either think it's insincere/pandering or have misguided beliefs on what it racial division is, likely exacerbated by the cultural climate and preexisting sentiments towards stuff like BLM. I personally have mixed feelings on the matter, but again, I wouldn't call it racism.

I'm black and I'm pretty offended by this, honestly. I mean, I'm not really emotional over it but I do hate that it always happens.

Also the thing about Speedy Gonzales iirc is that in the Latin dub that actual Mexicans watched, he was given a standard Latin accent (or whatever, the point is that to kids watching the show back then in Mexico, he sounded generic) and didn't actually sound like a stereotype in that dub. Which is why they ended up loving him, not because they thought the stereotypes were endearing.

Did he still go "arriba, arriba, andale, andale"? lol

Anyway, why are you offended? Are the racist comments just not showing up in my version of the video? Because I scrolled through various comments, and saw annoyed people, but no one saying anything flatout racist.
