As a former manager in a fast casual place, they probably gave it to you for free because they're terrified of bad reviews (internal company reviews or external reviews). It was common practice for us to comp meals if we were noticeably late on them

It's hilarious to me republicans will call Joe Biden a pedophile when Trump was l i t e r a l l y good friends with Epstein, is in plenty of pictures with him, has quotes on the record about Epstein "liking girls on the younger side". If you point this out they'll say something about Bill Clinton. Now it's true that Bill Clinton has shady ties with Epstein too, I don't dispute that, but that doesn't make Trump's connections magically go away. Maybe he didn't "discover" it, but his trips brought knowledge of the Americas to to Europe, which was an epoch defining moment as both continents were to irreversibly change after that. Was he a good person? Hell no the guy did horrible things in search of wealth and fame. Should Columbus' Day be celebrated as a holiday? In my opinion, probably not. But being the first European to actually visit and document and return to Europe (yes vikings blah blah) was definitely an achievement.

Speaking as someone who actually cares about history, Cleopatra was 100% greek. It was a specifically greek dynasty ruling egypt at the time, and not only that the Ptolemaic dynasty was notorious for gross amounts of inbreeding with each other. If this was earlier in history it would be more ambiguous and there definitely were black pharaohs at certain times.

Worked there for 2 years. Honestly it's pretty good and the food safety standards are very high (they relentlessly drill food safety protocol procedures into you and I've seen managers get fired for not scoring high enough on audits). As for working there it's very hit or and miss and depends on your coworkers. It's definitely not an easy job tho

I didn't get a real job until I was 25. Almost 30 now and I'm a shift lead at an incredibly busy pizza chain and make like 40K a year; which is pretty good for being a drug addict NEET for like 7 years imo.

If you think about it from an evolutionary perspective it makes sense. After all in the pre-civilization days there really were a lot of creepy crawly things that could bite and poison you and kill you so it makes sense we have a innate fear of them bc it kept us alive
