not the disposable ones that you get in a box, but i recently got a pair of gloves.

anyways my switch was in docked mode and i went to pull it out and got a visible shock. people on the switch boards claim that, that can break it. and if it isn't broken now it'll likely fail in the future so been worried about using it. i really hope it doesn't end up breaking, i get paranoid easily as it is.

i get a lot of static during the winter, so wondering if the gloves i mentioned may prevent it from happening. likely not going to use it docked for the rest of the winter, i have a stand i can put it on via hand held mode while using a controller. my idea is to use the gloves when i need to touch it then take them off when i play. thoughts?

What else is in there? Did you drink coffee beforehand, pop?
And, what's the APV you're looking at?

At the end of the day, alcohol is a depressant, so, if you've had any sort of upper beforehand (mostly caffeine) you won't feel the effects of alcohol until it hits you like a train. Caffeine is in your system for a full 6 hours as well, so it depends on when it happens.
@shadowsword87

oh wow, you brought some good insight that i was unaware of.

i drink a lot of coffee and caffeine related beverages daily. i don't drink alcohol daily however. i typically fill a 12 pot worth of coffee and drink 4 cups of that worth three times throughout the day in the cup i drink out of.

i do definitely find it strange that cans effect me more so over glass or plastic bottles by the same APV value. like natty daddy's are 8.0% 25 ounces each. this olde english plastic bottle is the same exact volume, except its 42 ounces, only 8 lower than two cans of the brand i prefer, yet i feel nowhere near the way i do from that brand.

its always been like that, however i thought i might just give it a try because this particular brand of the olde english reached the same volume as two cans of Natty's, just 8 ounces lower. however i could feel while i was drinking it that i wasn't going to reach that desired effect and was drinking it faster than i normally drink because i wasn't feeling like it was doing anything.

ok, personally my favorite is personally natty daddy's it gets me where i need to be going quickly enough. those are in cans. however something like olde english that has the same alcohol content in a bottle at least the high gravity one does, leaves me feeling like i didn't even get any kind of buzz at all.

i even drank the thing through a straw for maximum effect and i feel normal. its always been like this with bottled beer vs. canned beer. the only malt beer that i can say that's bottled that i will get a buzz from is steel reserve, and only if i drank it through a straw. the cans for that brand are even better.

i decided to try something a little different tonight, in R.I. the closest store to me sells natty daddy's for $5 for two cans, its different in MA there are stores that sell them for $1.10-$.1.40 each so R.I. is ridiculous in that regard, but I take the plunge every now and then. however, tonight i noticed they had a high gravity version of the olde english for $2.88 and after downing it, i feel next to nothing even though it has the same alcohol content as two Natty Daddy's canned.

not sure if this has something to do with a difference between bottled and canned beer. or something else entirely. i am no alcohol expert, so was hoping someone can explain this to me.

They specifically say not to clean with alcohol, it degrades the type of plastic used... but that typically applies to the actual pad part of the circle pad, not sure about the inside.

Mine does click a little when pushing to the left so idk
@Lokarin

its odd, seems like i hear it more when i lay back with it over head. sounds like a loose plastic or even a rolling marble kind of sound when i move it in various directions. however when i have it more flat like when sitting and looking down at it its less more audible if at all.

i didn't know that about the rubbing alcohol, generally with sticks and buttons its recommended with other controllers, been hearing about electronic contact spray as well, not sure if that's good or not to use then either.

i'm highly concerned though, been getting into the system as of late. been fine with just having the original model, so don't want to have to get a new system as that wont be cheap and newer ones are going out of production, as even getting games for it aren't that cheap either. i feel dreaded by it, i'm one to get stressed easily.

last night i used a bit of rubbing alcohol on a q-tip to clean inside it, and today i noticed it makes a sound like falling plastic or a rolling marble. seems like i mostly hear it when i am laying back with it over head, and don't seem to hear it when i'm holding it flat like sitting or something. maybe i'm just noticing it now idk.

i have had this one since 2012, its an original version, but have really been into it for a couple of months. haven't used it a great ton over the years until now. so i'm highly concerned if this is something i should worry about.

its working fine, but was also concerned when these things get drift, is there any fix besides replacing them or getting a new one?

my GBA SP charged without issue, have the DS plugged in now. although the DS said it had a full charge to begin with lol.

was trying to open up the GBA battery area to give it a look. not even sure if there are any screw drivers we have that would open it. even if i did get it open i probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a healthy and swollen battery tbh. i mean i could tell if it looked abnormal like the PSP ones, but say they have a slight amount i probably wouldn't know if it was the normal look or not.

@xjayguyx
how would i go about checking the batteries and how would i tell if something was wrong with them? i only knew with the psp because the battery panel broke off.

also, i have been using my 3DS for about a month and a half after owning it since 2012, and haven't used it a ton until now. recently the touch screen on the left side was making a popping/clicking type of sound, most people said its nothing to worry about, but one person said it could be the battery. if i have been using it all that time without issue of explosions and stuff do you think that's ok? i put a bit of forceful pressure on the left side of the touch screen and it seemed to resolve that sound it was making. when i pressed lighter it was a temporary fix, but pressing harder seemed to solve it for now. have screen protectors for it arriving by mail, will put them on, and hoping that will fix that.

the closet? turned them on the other day, DS was surprisingly at full charge. GBA SP was on red charge, i don't see any buldge on the back panel's. looks very flat, i have seen pictures of a GBA SP with a bloated battery inside and the back panel looked broke.

i'm worried about if i plug them in if they would explode or something, i have had a psp with a bloated battery before.
