Looking back, I think that generation did mark a significant shift from the early 2000s era to what we have now, so I can kind of see where you're coming from. But there were a bunch of bangers for those consoles and topics like these just make me realize how everyone idealizes certain time periods.

If I'm just flashing three fingers for whatever reason I'd probably go with the three middle ones out of habit. In cases where you have to hold them up for an extended period of time, like Never Have I Ever, I've started to use thumb, index, and middle.

I think that's just what happens when you get older. I'll occasionally still get into a game and play it non-stop for a while, but it's hard to maintain interest and playing time over extended periods of time.

I want to point out that 17 is missing from the poll, but for me this was easy. Definitely 21-25, I was young and dumb with few concerns or worries. I was able to go on a 6-week road trip around the entire contiguous U.S. (all 48 states) and made more friends than at any other time in my life during those years. Right after that age, I earned a college degree and got married, which were great things, but they brought my carefree days to an end. Since then I've had to work and "adult".

Ha good point, not only is 17 missing but I'm not realizing how inconsistent the age bands are in general. I work in data too so this is even more embarrassing :P

For me it's probably early 20s, when I feel like I experienced a bunch of new things and came into my own as a person, had a lot of friends still around from college, and did not yet feel so tethered to a lifetime of 9-5 working.

I'm honestly over the whole "how can people still support him after this" thing. I've felt that way since like 2015 and am just numb to it now. Anyone who thinks that [latest scandal] will be Trump's downfall just seems feckless at this point and like they have no idea how to put up any kind of opposition.

My first time voting was in the 2016 primaries and I think I've voted in every primary and general election since then. Of the candidates I remember (probably forgetting some down-ballot ones), about 75% have lost.

It's not just neocons, most members of congress voted to wage war against Afghanistan and Iraq and continue to support perpetual war and approve increases to the military budget.

The sequel trilogy is bafflingly bad, and the other two movies + the Mandalorian are bad/average to good overall. Could they not hire people who understood star wars with their infinite resources?? Where do they even go from here?

I feel like their greatest sin has been ruining the Star Wars mystique. Star Wars has been burnt into my brain as a child and I'll always have an affinity towards it, but after the most recent movies I can't event pretend to take it seriously. It feels like it's retroactively revealed the entire series to be silly and a waste of time.

2007 was a great year for games. I was also blown away by the graphics for Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect.

I do think UBI would be incredibly beneficial, especially now during COVID, but in the long run it needs to be paired with larger structural changes. Otherwise it just becomes a subsidy for landlords, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies, the student loan industry, etc.

I sort of agree. I especially hate when prequels delve too far into fan service and feel the need to explain/show the story behind every single throw away line from the original. Solo is pretty bad with that.

That happened too late in the decade. Besides, a lot of the factors that elected him were culmination of previous factors

But this is true of everything. It's pretty limited to have to choose an event from the first couple years in a decade as that decade's defining moment.

If anything one of the "defining" events of the 2010s was the financial crisis that preceded it.
