Did not make it to Baby Cakes. Just too many places to try, we didn't even make it to 5% of the places that we wanted to try. Wish humans were more adaptable in terms of eating more when we want instead of being full.

Favorite restaurant was Mayfair, favorite "event" was the shooting range. Battlefield vegas is legit.

Fremont street was cool, just remembered we ate at Eureka restaurants there.

They were nice too. Mandalay Bay had a ton of dining options we saw while we were walking to/from shark reef. Sucks we weren't hungry yet, they all looked great. Would probably stay there next time, or maybe Luxor because those rates are dirt cheap and the place itself is pretty awesome looking. Not the best rooms for views though, that's for sure.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

Incredible. Restaurants we ate at include but are not limited to:

Prime steakhouse
Mayfair supper club
Sadelle's
Salt & ivy
Public House
Allegro (Wynn)
Jardin (Wynn)

The best part is the fact that my girlfriend doesn't eat much, so when she would normally get a to-go box, I got to nibble on her orders instead (because who get a to-go box in vegas when A.) you rob yourself of a chance to eat at another place by eating leftovers, and B.) the fridges usually have no space anyways, and C.) most rooms don't have microwaves anyways)

Fortunate that we weren't caught up in any of it, but that's more or less why I knew to stay away from the cheaper hotels in general for long periods of time. We had no issues walking through some of the cheaper places.

how was the sex
Girlfriend and I banged three of the five nights. Night 1 was solid, albeit a little light since we didn't have our usual assortment of BDSM toys and fun stuff to play with. But it was our first night together in a hotel (been dating nearly two years), so combine that with the WOOO VEGAS vibe and it was still a good time. Getting started in the shower was great too, it had a little one of those "chairs" in there, so we got to mess around on that which certainly helped.

Night 2 was very sloppy and did not last long because we were exhausted. We walked a shit ton all day (walked from Aria all the way to Trump, with a lot of stopping and sightseeing in between through places like Caesar's, the Mirage, etc.). We both literally fell asleep still naked.

Night 3 was actually amazing -- we had moved to the Wynn for the second leg of the trip, which had a much larger tub. We were able to relax with each other in the tub and fool around, which was super hot. Another thing we had never had the opportunity to do since our apartment tubs are too small. That led to the bedroom which ended excellently.

SolidShadow3 posted...
Where did you stay
Two nights at Aria, three at Wynn

SolidShadow3 posted...
how nad was it? I hope to dear god you avoided the Cosmo.
Eh... I don't think I can be the best judge because we were never actually out on the strip past 1AM. We did take a short stroll through Cosmo, but it was around 8PM on a Thursday on the way to dinner at the Bellagio. Admittedly it was not a fine crowd there, but it was not as bad as I was expecting. However, it does not surprise me that it got worse on the weekends and as the nights waned on into the early morning hours. We did see that they were doing bag checks and metal wand scanners at the front entrance, so there was a line to get in which was strange to see.

Honestly all the extra security made me feel safer. I was leery after reading all the crazy shit going on, and while I can see how the crowds here and there could contribute to a shitty atmosphere, I'm not one to be attracted to areas where that shit tends to happen. As long as you stay situationally aware and understand your surroundings, you won't have any problems.

tl;dr: It wasn't pretty, but it was better than I was expecting crowdwise.

AlabamaLove posted...
I was there for the first time on my 30th. Honestly had a great time.
Gotta go back once clubs are open. I really wanna hit Omnia.

Where did you stay?
Funny, Omnia is the club I went to when I went two years ago. I'm not a club person at all but they wanted to go so I went too. It was a nice place.

We stayed at Aria and Wynn. The Wynn is incredible, super nice and has a slight little "secluded" feel. I planned the trip knowing two nights at Aria would be more "central" strip with the Wynn nights being more "high-end" strip. But even still, the Wynn has the grand canale shoppes right there, so it's not even really as far away from the action as I was picturing.

Aria was really nice too honestly, even for their most basic room. The tablet gimmick was funny (having the whole room's controls right there like lights, TV, drapes, etc.)

Lago is a little more casual but it has pretty small portions. It's a good place to go if you want to each pick some stuff to share and try.

Mayfair is more of a formal place where you sit down and have real courses for a meal.

If you like Asian food there is a good place right next to the poker room at the Wynn/Encore but I forget the name. Wynn also has the best breakfast buffet I have had out there.
Will check out the asian food; I read about a place called "Tao" asian bistro in the venetian that literally just reopened, so I think that's going to be a hit. Will try to find the Wynn place too.

I am doing the anniversary dinner at the Mayfair supper club in the Bellagio because the wife will like it and it's a great spot for that type of meal. Lago is also great in the Bellagio.
Bro that's hilarious you name-drop those two restaurants; so I'm doing this pre-fix menu deal that includes brunch and dinner each of our two nights at Aria (then we're doing three at Wynn). Night 1 we're doing Prime Steakhouse as our own anniversary / her dinner meal. BUT night 2 has me pulling out my hair because I can't decide between Lago or Mayfair:

https://static.mgmresorts.com/content/dam/MGM/mgmresorts/menus/bellagio/mayfair/foodiefixe.pdf
https://static.mgmresorts.com/content/dam/MGM/mgmresorts/menus/bellagio/lago/foodiefixe.pdf

I keep hearing rave reviews about both... maybe Lago is the better choice instead of doing two steakhouses in a row, however I do see that the mayfair prefix menu at normal price is $68, whereas Lago is $55. So maybe we do Mayfair while it's "free" (through the package) and then swing back to Lago. I dunno.

As for the rest of the nights, I can always swing back to one of the options too. I definitely have a bunch of stuff jotted down to try (SW Steakhouse at wynn, Peppermill, Black Tap, Sushi Samba, Mon Ami Gabi or Eiffel Tower at Paris...many more), so swinging back definitely is an option. Either way, all food options and most budgets are on the table.

Stay away from the Cosmo.
Been hearing this... very unfortunate, it's such a shiny and cool place! Especially the chandelier bar.

Is it bad like at all times, or is it just at night when the rowdy crowd comes out? Would we be able to go to the bar in the early afternoon and not run into any garbage people?

you
This is all great stuff, thank you. Will see if we end up making a trip to downtown one night or not. I know there some peaceful protests going on, so if we do, it'd probably be Monday night just in case. Should be able to find cheap tables on a monday.

Have fun TC, don't let all of the doomers get you down. Follow all the precautions (mask wearing, distancing, hand washing) and you'll be ok.
Thanks! Yeah the doomers are just cycling their routines. I'm only interested in personal experiences. Seems like everything will be fine as long as A.) health stuff is followed, and B.) we make sure to avoid the trash crowds at night when they seem to be messing around

What do you like to play? I love blackjack and craps. Sometimes I'll put a $20 in a slot machine and see what happens (usually around $1.50/spin)
I like blackjack, poker, and some slots. My girlfriend exclusively plays slots but I'm going to try and teach her blackjack, I know that would be fun to play together. The bigger issue is going to be finding a reasonable minimum table, I'm not tryna go all the way up to $50 minimums just to find a 3:2 table. I have tried to learn craps, but it's just impossible to really get the feel of without actually playing at a table. It's a bit frightening too because you can absolutely drop $100 in five minutes on some of those subsequent bets (whatever they're called - not the come bet I don't think, but idk)

I think I read the wynn is opening their poker room soon, and planet hollywood is also rumored to be reopening in early october

Are bars and clubs there open? If yes, lol and RIP.
If not, why would you want to go?
Bars yes, cubs no (although I think a few are doing like lounge/table service only -- definitely no dance floors though). We aren't club people anyways, so them being closed is a non-factor.
