Fuck those stupid invisible blocks in 1-4. I never knew they were there, you've never had to jump on enemies in that area before, but they're like the troll blocks in Lost Levels. I keep jumping into them and slamming into an enemy I was trying to go over. I lost a run because I hit two in row!

Its kind of incredible to me consoles still don't let you just freely keybind the buttons in the system options.

Its something I've been thinking "Why don't they just do that?" since N64/PS1 days and its still not something you can do, and I don't know why.

What bozo doesn't donate the first thing they catch

Most of the issues occurred when I did a fishing tourney with a big group of people on someone else's island months ago. I couldn't donate anything while over there, over the course of the day it became really hard to keep track of what was new and what wasn't, and up until recently if you checked your Critterpedia while on someone else's Island it wouldn't show the museum tags for ANY of your creatures. So a lot of catches got lost in the confusion, and I didn't realize it because every time I caught them again it wouldn't trigger the yes message.

I'm not going to say I like the new face, but the old face seriously disturbed the hell out of me so I can't be too upset.

I mean the moment you saw his face for the first time in the original game I literally recoiled in horror. Honestly most of the characters in that game look like zombies who've rotted in the sun too long. I'm glad most of them wear masks.

Do people say specifically they voted for it because of what robot it was, or is it just a pattern you've noticed?

Most people think the Tamagotchi one has the best design, but I've never seen anyone vote based on a robot's design in any of the games I've played. And I don't feel like there's any kind of win/loss record pattern based on that.

So it turns out I'm an idiot, I had three out of the five sitting in storage in my house and I forgot about it.

I'm still mad that I didn't fish any of them up in the past few nights, but caught around 9 Arowanas/Arapaimas and a half dozen hammerheads. I still need the Birchir and Saw Shark left. The Birchir is going to be hell.

That's it, I'm fucking done. I've been fishing for hours for the past few days and I still haven't seen the five fish I've been missing for this month. I'm not sure if there's an error with the guides or what, but they have not been showing up at all. Some of them are super common too. I caught so many of them before, but I forgot to donate them to the museum (for the most part, I think I had caught them during the Fishing Tourney and accidentally sold them, and didn't realize it until very late). Looks like I'm not going to complete the museum. Fuck me.

Role Models is pretty underrated too. The obvious problem is that it's not a game you can play as a pick up game with people you don't know too well. But when playing it in a general friend or family group it's hilarious. The fact that's only six players max hurts it though.

I really want to write my comparing thoughts about the various games, but I probably won't have time until another few days... and probably not then.

That said, while I can, I want to come to the defense of Dictionarium. I really didn't like that game the first couple of times I played it, but then my group finally got the hang of it and started to get really good games out of it. It does often end up being a huge waste if people don't understand how to play it well, and I wish the synonym timer wasn't so short (even with extended timers on it just breezes by), but I've had some amazing results with it when the stars all align:

I will say playing with B8 is a lot different than playing with my friends.

With my friends the deduction process is more like, "Okay, they said there were in this area after the oxygen went out, but this person was nearby and didn't see them run by, so let's agree they're kind of suspicious..." but here it's like "I was watching people at admin and this person said they completed a task in the engine room but they were only in there for 5 seconds when that task should take 8.5 seconds. Combining this with the fact that the task they said they did couldn't have been generated alongside the task they said they did earlier means we can positively identify them as the murderer with 100% certainty. Gg."

In Mario 64 the "stage into" jingle is the 1-1 theme from Super Mario Bros.

I replayed the DKC series about two years ago or so.

DKC is pretty dated. Not in the "it's unplayable by modern standards" kind of way, but how it really isn't anything more than a very standard platforming game. Outside of the graphics there wasn't really anything special about it.

DKC2 is still one of the best games ever made.

But in the end, I was shocked by how bad DKC3 was. Again, it wasn't unplayable, it's basically the same style of game as the others so it could never be horrible, but it had so many boring gameplay decisions. Nothing about it was terrible, but it wasn't "fun".
