Probably my worst Christmas ever. Get to spend it locked up alone in a hotel room that I can't leave because I have covid. First time back in Canada for Christmas in years and I can't spend it with my family. Shit is fucking depressing.

Just checked into an isolation hotel. All comped by the Alberta government. Here until at least the 2nd if I stay asymptomatic. If my wife's test comes back positive tomorrow, she will join me here.

They're also giving me a $65/day (about 350rmb) food allowance. Pretty decent selection on the menu as well.

You understand that you wear a mask to reduce the likelihood that you'll transmit it, right? We all really should be wearing masks around anyone who isn't in our immediate household.

As I said, I'm a staunch mask wearer and supporter. That said, the likelihood of having an active COVID infection within 1.5 months and having anti-bodies, at this point, is what, .00001%? (Obviously an exaggeration, but probably not far off based on what we have seen of reinfection).

Being an infectious carrier is extremely unlikely.

I don't argue against safety, especially with something that is still being studied, but I'm not seeing studies that show I would be a likely carrier. Especially after testing positive weeks after having it.

And at the end of the day, still going to wear it.

I'm honestly a big mask supporter and wear them religiously. That said, caught COVID about a month ago (most likely from work as that is really only where I go).

Though I still wear a mask in public, was kind of hoping I could be more liberal with it at a family gathering (i.e. sister and parents).

funnily enough, no live action episodes make nearly the same impact. I've seen some good ones, but nothing amazing.
