Joel believed they were capable of it. Joel knew Ellie would willingly die for the effort. Joel murdered Marlene - Ellie's adopted mother - solely to stop her from going after them. Joel lied about the situation when Ellie asked about it.

Joel saved her because he refused to go through another daughter dying. It's understandable. It's sympathetic. And it's selfish.

There's a really easy way of doing this. Put a dreamgate at her house and just go through the route. You can bring a flower along just in case you do it, but it's not necessary. Then dreamgate back to her house and grab the flower. So long as you don't sit on a bench, most enemies won't respawn.

The nice ghosts only give you one. Killing them isn't really necessary. The warriors and other stuff give you more than enough essence to unlock all the rewards.

Assuming you mean the Dream Wielder charm, I thought the same thing, but it does have its uses. The game isn't super obvious about this, but Dream Nailing living enemies refills your magic meter. This is extremely difficult to do normally, but it's very feasible with that charm equipped. As a bonus, it also doubles the magic you get from doing it.

It's useful in certain areas where you get very little magic otherwise.

I don't think she actually created this entire situation, she just took advantage of it. I got the sense she was telling the truth when she told Vision she didn't do all this.

But assuming she did, I think she still can't raise the dead. I think that's what the dog scene was hinting at. She wants the perfect life, so why wouldn't she just bring the dog back to life if she could? Vision also says he can't remember his life before Westview, so he's resurrected rather badly if he is.

With Vision being a robot, she might have just used her powers to haphazardly repair him. I'd say that he could just be an illusion, but I don't think he'd be challenging her like that if he were.
