Not that I literally want him to be the President but I feel like its the best way forward for the nation and the sooner Trump is out there exists the tiniest particle of a chance that the republican party can be saved by the power of Mitt Romney and John Kasich. --- |

| The Top Crusader 08/23/20 11:07:21 PM #16 | My Blu-ray and DVD collection vastly outnumber my VHS tapes, but I have a few boxes of them in the basement still, and an old VCR that I assume works but hasnt been tested in ages. I think I tried to rip a VHS tape to digital a dozen or so years ago and it worked then. A lot of stuff I have no reason to keep... they are movies on mass market DVD that arent going to go out of print and mostly dumb movies I will never watch again anyway... but I also have some more rare stuff that is out of printor at least, had multiple versions (like foreign films with slightly different cuts and dubs in the West) and the VHS version differs from DVD releases. And some old pro wrestling tapes, mostly PPVs and mostly WCW. Technically its stuff on the WWE Network and while I doubt I will watch the tapes again since streaming is easier (and it isnt like I go back and watch this stuff often), there are some cuts and music dubbed out in the current version. Oh, and all the random blank tapes of stuff taped off of TV. Again, Ive not even tested the VCR in ages so clearly its nothing critical, but I like the idea of having the old commercials and stuff from the 80s and 90s. --- |

Although a lot of places had started to not allow it probably 10 or so years before that. I *don't* remember people smoking in Wal-Mart like TC does, but I remember it definitely being allowed in the mall... but I feel like maybe it was in designated areas? And yeah most restaurants had a smoking section. I don't smoke so overall its nice to not have that around and I don't usually really think about it... but man there is something really weird about going to a bowling alley and it not smelling like an ash tray. --- |

They weird me out a little less but maybe once a year or so I'll have a dream where usually I'm younger or the dream just doesn't really define age, and I'm trying to get the attention of the girl I had my first big crush on in junior high and hasn't crossed my mind in ages, lol. I don't tell my wife about those. >_> --- |

I didn't know my wife then and meeting her and getting married and starting a family is a big plus obviously, but there was absolutely something about that time frame... especially that summer right after graduating when none of the crew had gone off to college yet and I wasn't dealing with school work (which wasn't a big deal, but still) and was only working like... 12 hours a week, lol. Got to hang out with friends more or less every day and do whatever. I'm still in close contact with a big chunk of my high school buddies (and at least in loose contact with the ones that I'm not as close with still) but some have moved away, and we're all married, most have kids, etc. So its just next to impossible to ever find time to hang out or whatever. Like a couple years sometimes go by without seeing someone, even though we text semi-regularly and stuff. And yeah, in those 20 years a lot of favorite hangouts have closed up, and COVID is killing off some more as we speak. :( --- |

Only had a couple of lengthy outages in my life, one was due to an ice storm and while it got cold in the house at least you could put food out so it didn't spoil and I'd rather bundle up indoors than be really hot. Last summer we were without power for like 4 days and it was of course when it was super hot out. Probably could've salvaged SOME food if we had known it would be that long, but the power company kept saying it would be back soon so we didn't bother. :( --- |
