I mean it isn't a bad place to live, I lived there once. I would just say it has a pretty high cost of living. If you want to live somewhere warm you can always live in Arizona, New Mexico, or Nevada. Hell you could live in the South East even if you really wanted to.

You literally only have to worry about fires once every year or two and that's mostly in remote areas with lots of vegetation. In big cities there's like a .00002% chance of having a fire that damages more than 1 or two blocks. I haven't heard any fire that took out an entire block ever and I'm in my 30s. And there hasn't been a huge life changing earthquake since 1989. Since then it's only small earthquakes that do any damage. Maybe there was maybe less than 5 that scared people and moved some things off the shelf but that's it. Must suck to live in Texas, Florida and other states that have multiple huge natural disasters yearly that needs people to evacuate. Weather sucks ass in other states but Cali got weather that makes the 49 other states jelly of them.
