Phil has a penchant to make the most mundane task, look like a monumental accomplishment.

When you and I do groceries, it takes us an hour and we are done. When Phil does him, it's physically taxing to the point it is comparable to an extensive work out, and takes him all day. At the end of that day he is physically drained, and as such, he has no energy to do anything else.

When you and I have to pay bills (you know, the ones that aren't automatically deducted, this is the 21st century after all) it'll take us an hour per month at best to make sure we have gotten it. Phil has to sit down EVERY DAY to pay bills. And even then, things might go wrong! He does his best to pay them every day, because if he doesn't do it every day, there may be grave concequences.

You and I play games, we enjoy them. To Phil it is hard fucking work. He has to concentrate on what is happening. He has to read out loud, sorry I mean voice act, what it says on screen. It also takes tremendous effort to explain all the things that are happening on screen. And on top of that, he has to also engage his audience. Streaming is literally the hardest job he's ever had.

He also barely has time to see his wife. He only sees her 15 minutes per day, before she goes to work. Even though she only works 3 days a week, and it would be fucking easy as shit to plan his streaming around that.

Speaking of his schedule, it is a holy written word. It cannot be changed or altered in any way or form. He HAS to play the new releases, he HAS to play the way it is planned. He can never change things around, because that will have direct negative implications. You'd think he has a hair trigger employer that will fire his ass for not giving 100% adherence to said schedule.

All these things combined make for an extremely draining and demanding life. He will never have time for himself and his "family" because he works so much, and so hard. So much that having a full time 9 to 5 job other people have is easy in comparison. And if something goes wrong, it can be devastating. Remember when Kobe Bryant died? Phil compared that to losing progress (about 30-60 minutes) during KOTOR. The impact of him losing progress in a game he streamed is comparable to a human life.

No matter what hardships you endure, no matter how physically taxing your job is, how mentally draining. No matter what personal issues you are going through: Phil ALWAYS has it worse.

i don't want to sound offensive when i say this - you kinda described signs of autism in adults just now. I share some of these traits myself, but we all have varying degrees of it.

• Changes to his routine are devastating.
• Social interaction is taxing - it's no secret he's isolated and avoids people.
• When you get something to focus on you try to go "all in" on that one thing. Foregoing other shit.
• He has issues with being affectionate. (I recently apologized about this to my gf as she is very affectionate, and i felt like shit for it for it not being natural to me.) He never seems know the right time to touch kat as she seems to have her own issues, and the lack of communication shows. She obviously looks uncomfortable. Maybe, she actually does love him in her own way if you look at the relationship this way. I hate to over analyze things like relationships, but it would explain everything. You all kept asking why they would not share a bed...sensory issues makes sense?

Doesn't give him the pass on blatantly insulting his viewers all the time though.

You know. I view DSP as a lost cause, but pity LTG. He has everything he needs to succeed at this, but he will never reach his potential with that toxic personality of his - who the fuck hurt that dude?! I have temper issues too when i play games, but never will i disconnect on a game because i got my ass beat, or say some of the hateful shit he does.

Being rich with a big house sounds like way more trouble than it's worth. Far be it from me to judge someone's living style, but sometimes I believe people like my mother want to die in debit, or something. Isn't peace of mind success enough? I'm not rich or anything, but by keeping a simple budget and commuting to throwing something into savings every pay check I can get any stupid thing i want in life, and never once stressed about paying bills. I don't get why people do that shit to themselves...

Most debt i have to worry about is 3k in student loans after getting a bachelors. I got off so much easy than most just from not failing, and riding most of college at home.

Not gonna lie - I am notoriously cheap too.
