On my way to college years ago these two girls walked past me and one of them said Smile, buttercup, youre beautiful.
And then everyone on the airplane, including the pilots, applauded.

Probably not a definitive list. Does not really account specifically for geographical/environmental variance, specific disorders or maintaining our lifestyles. Also mostly accounts for direct effect on humans. Sunlight for example is mandatory to life as a whole but humans can technically survive without getting regular sunlight themselves. Its vastly more difficult and lowers your overall health but possible.

The lists are in no particular order.

Mandatory to life (Defined here as the requirements in the basic human condition to potentially reach adulthood. These alone are not sufficient to ensure wellbeing. Merely the absolute most fundamental basics to sustain life. These are completely non negotiable. You have these at or shortly after birth or you will inexorably die)

  1. Access to sufficient caloric/nutrient intake to maintain basic function of the body.
  2. Sufficient Hydration. Ideally in the form of potable water.
  3. Basic Shelter/protection from the elements and fauna.
  4. Care and protection in infancy/early childhood
  5. Oxygen

Essential(Enormous benefits to lifespan/health and quality of life. Largely things inherent to the human condition or have been shown to have greatly aided human civilization once discovered and widely available. You can potentially survive to adulthood without these but your chances of doing so and lifespan will likely be far shorter and of lower quality without access to some or all of these)

  1. Access to varied, safe and nutrient rich foods.
  2. Access to quality medical care.
  3. Access to electricity and/or fire.
  4. Interaction with/support from other humans at least occasionally even after infancy/early childhood.
  5. High quality water(Properly treated/boiled and/or otherwise has little to no harmful microorganisms or toxins)
  6. Well made shelter, and clothing(As in well suited for the purpose of protecting us from the elements/fauna and aiding in sustaining a healthy body temperature.)
  7. Access to methods/tools/materials for cleansing and hygiene.
  8. Regular access to sunlight

Important(Can have significant benefits to health and quality of life. Likely to be partly or fully a human invention rather then something that has been a need since our prehistory.

  1. Education
  2. A stunningly wide variety of human inventions, tools, organizations, concepts etc.that would take a long time to list all of them.(Glasses, hunting techniques, Internet,

This sound about right and covering most the mandatory and most prominent essentials to you guys?
