You'd probably want Luster for that because I imagine he has the number somewhere but just eyeballing the standings it looks like raw votes averaged around 17-20k per match. Last contest had 150 matches because of the Legends and Loser's Bracket so the answer there is probably 2.55m - 3m. I wanted a board that was actually dedicated to on-topic discussion of the poll of the day, so I made one. I modeled it after the on-topic board for the GameFAQs Top Ten Lists. LinkPizza posted... I thought it was just a guy who got mad that PotD did what they wanted and so he made a board to actually talk about the PotD, and won't let it turn into this board... darcandkharg31 posted... Cause it's just a user board because the owner of the board got pissy that people talked about things other than the poll here.I didn't get mad. Very few things on Earth actually make me mad. At worst, I felt mildly annoyed, but it wasn't at the users who were posting off-topic, it was at the fact that the board isn't topicality-enforced in the first place. Why have a board that's named after and linked to from a prominent site feature if it's not going to be about that feature? It's like how if there was a subreddit called "talk about everything related to fish," and then it wasn't enforced and everybody only ever talked about cows. And then when anyone ever tried to talk about fish, everyone else on the subreddit yelled at them. It's just silly, IMO. *shrugs* kirbserker posted... Why does the poll still link here, then? Do the people running the site hate it?People can still talk about the poll of the day here - you just did, after all. It's just that the community around the board has made it more hostile towards people who have legitimate discussion questions about polls, and there's really nothing that can be done about that. kirbserker posted... I agree. I had assumed for the longest time that there was actually a topic for each poll so we could discuss it more in depth and see what the author had in mind. I don't know if you're thinking about a different site or not, but you bring up an interesting point about the author of the poll. It used to be that the poll had user-submitted questions, but a year or two back, that was changed so that all polls are now submitted by the GameFAQs mod staff. This makes it more difficult to ask, "what did the author have in mind when they came up with these specific answers to this question?"
