When we talk about a YEAR it's UNDERSTOOD to be January 1 thru December 31! Nobody brings up a year and then says "Which year do you mean, the year that started on March 26 2019 or the year that started on January 1 2019?" There is a CONVENTION. |

We're just saying that the first decade is obviously from year 1-9, second is 10-19, and so on until now where we are in 2020-2029. It's so simple a child could understand it. But HOW can the first decade "obviously" go from year 1-9? That ISN'T even a decade. |

If tehre was no year 0, and the first year of the Common Era was year 1... then wouldn't the first decade be 1-10? and the second decade be 11-20? All the way until 2011-2020? Intuitively it makes sense to me. |
