Ive read conflicting studies, but is it possible warm weather/sun limits spread of infection after all? Outside of Texas, a lot of warm weather states have been open and no explosion in cases like weve seen in NYC and Italy.

States like FL and GA are not testing to the extent of States like IL and NY plus they're underreporting COVID-19 deaths. As pointed out you need to compare the death count in those States now compared to before the Pandemic. That'll show you that FL and GA aren't doing as well as they're claiming.

There is that corona linked illness in children in NY. Up to 95 cases. Also Russia has had 10k new cases for like 11 days straight something only US has done. Russia now 2nd most infected country.

Feels like a "second wave" type story might be a narrative the media wants to push like a breakout in gym, plant, or another area after these reopenings might be the type of story they are gunning for right now.

I wish governers and other officials would be more specific when they use the word "peaking." Peaking in number of cases? Peaking in new daily cases? Peaking in deaths? Peaking in hospitalizations? The different peaks can occur several weeks apart.

All the vague terms being thrown around lately has become a pet peeve of mine. "Flattening the curve" being thrown around by people who don't really know what it means is another one.

Peaking means a rise in confirmed cases. IL is still on an upwards trend.

States are still doing a piss poor job testing so I wouldn't count on it. IL still requires you to be sick enough for a hospital stay to justify testing. So asymptomatic carriers and people who are sick but not sick enough for a hospital bed aren't getting tested.

His announcement was that he is cooperating with the other East Coast Blue States and they're looking at the data on when to ease into loosening restrictions. He said they're not rushing to open and that the health and safety of the citizens takes priority over the economy. The Governors also called out Trump's bullshit on rushing to open and made it clear that the PotUS has no authority and the final decision is the Governors.
