I don't know but I was on Mirtazipine about 10 years ago after someone close died, and I lost ALL libido, like couldn't even get a rise for myself never mind my partner at the time. Was like an overripe banana down there.

I soon dropped that shit, a few days later I was back to normal. I've vowed never to take any mind tampering nerd meds since. Well, not prescription ones anyway, I'm OK with the after market stuff I've tested many times

Was thinking something similar myself the other day, but more how memorable old adverts are, and how modern ones are so bland and forgettable in comparison.

Thinking about it, most of the ones I remember most vividly had their own unique themes. 'Mr Soft' for Softmints, 'Do the Shake and Vac' for a stupid carpet deodorant, 'Secret lemonade drinker' for R Whites, and the absolute silliest of all, 'Kia Ora' for a cordial drink. Seriously, check that last one out, it's pure 80s bizarreness, some kid telling Crows they can't have any of his drink cos it's too orangey for them

And then there's 'Um Bongo' for fruit juice, another batshit LSD advert.

Best ever though was a radio advert for double glazing, about the 3 little pigs, it's on YouTube, Coldseal Windows 3 little pigs, even now 20 years later I can hear the lines "bacon buttie" and "sausage sandwich" from when the wolf blows down the windows that aren't double glazed. Now that's proper advertising, remembering a radio ad after two decades. https://youtu.be/qRhlzX_KT4s

Edit - added the 3 little pigs.

Proper scared I was, be OK if it was a bloke, I could swing my way out, but a woman? I couldn't do anything but stand there and take it. She was definitely the Villain that night.

Ended up chatting to her on FB about 10 years later and laughing about it. I'm pretty sure she was chatting me up by the end but the fear was still there

I think you got your exchange rate mixed up, $25 million is a little more than 17 pence.

No shit Sherlock, I think you've got examples mixed up, 17 pence to me is like $25m to multibillionaire Zuckerberg, ie, it's a drop in the Ocean, I wouldn't miss 17p, he won't miss $25m. Have you any idea how much money he has? Or how much a 1 billion is? Here's a little help, if he only had 1 billion, he could spend $25m ten times today, and he'd still have another 30 $25m's left in his 1 billion, and he's got about 18 of those 1 billions, so he's got about 720 $25m's. He's given one away leaving 719. He'll make that back in about 5 weeks.

So yeah, generous to the naked eye, but to him it's peanuts. I applaud him for doing it anyway, but he won't miss it anymore than I'd miss my 17p.

I'll wait til some billionaire gives half their fortune away, then I'll be impressed.

I made some last week. Costs pennies to make a still, then it's just a mash, yeast, water and sugar. The sanitiser was a byproduct though, I was making some Xmas booze.

You can either use it to clean, to disinfect, or just drink it - that's the reason I made a still after all lol. The first two pints or so aren't drinkable unless you keep on distilling over and over which isn't worth the hassle, but they make perfect hand sanitiser.

If anyone fancies a try, there's tons of make your own still vids on YouTube - you basically only need oil drums, copper pipe and a silicone tubing. And Survival Russia has a few good moonshine making vids. Might pass some time during lockdown.

It's generous, but also like me donating 17 pence. It's barely an afterthought to him.

It's a heck of a lot better than PSG though, a football club owned by the Arabs, they pay one single player 700,000 a week, and spent a whopping 250 million on another player, they kindly donated a whole 100k to the cause. Basically what they pay Neymar, per day.

It's at times like that you're better off not bothering, it's like walking up to a disheveled homeless man and giving him a penny.

Filmwise, Withnail and I, Dawn of the dead, Lost Boys and any of the Jay and Silent Bob appearing movies always take me out the world for a few hours, can watch them over and over.

Books, I love a Clive Cussler, cheesy as a tramps bellend but they're pure escapism.

Shows, I love watching old comedy, Red Dwarf, Alan Partridge, Only fools and Horses, Fast show, The mighty Boosh, Frasier, IT crowd, League of gentlemen etc.

None of that takes it too seriously or requires much thinking, just pure escapism and joviality.

You could have learned all this earlier if you'd watched Revenge of the Nerds or watched Nancy's speech to Dustin at the school dance in season 2 of ST

Jocks have their best time of life at high school and college, after that it's nearly always downhill. The Nerds come good after they've finished education.

I was inbetween at school, quite nerdy but also sporty and popular with girls, a Nerck perhaps? Most of the Nerds I went to school with are doing well now, most of the Jocks aren't.

And strangely nearly all the shallow, pretty girls from back then have turned into fat heifers, and most of the plain bookworms have blossomed into really fine women.

Not all, but definitely the majority of all the groups.

Yep. I played it in normal mode first and wasn't scared once. Played it in VR and spent most the game terrified.

What doesn't translate in flatscreen mode is how dainty and petite Mia is, she's really tiny and delicate in VR, really reminded me of a short, dark curly haired lass I used to go out with, which was weird as I didn't get that at all playing in flatscreen mode.

Everyone needs to play it in VR mode, it's a whole other level.

Not sure, I had no idea who she was when I watched Cpt Marvel, and I was so bored after about 45 mins I gave up. I've never liked Jude Law so that didn't help, but it was a very boring film. I managed to get through Wonder Womans boring start but CM was another level of banal.

People didn't seem to mind Robert Downey JR being Iron Man, and he was pretty disliked beforehand due to his general bellendery, he's well loved now though so I don't think it's all down to Brie. With a better film I doubt anyone would have cared who played the part.

Nope. People walking around aimlessly in groups, bikes and cars still flying around as always, shops filled with people buying beer and not food or bog roll.

I live right next to a working class area, not to generalise but a lot people in the surrounding vicinity (not my road particularly) are what you'd kindly describe as a bit intellectually lacking, and it's what I've noticed when out and about. Those I'd deem as a bit stupid, don't seem to take any notice, they either don't think they're in danger, or they just don't care.

What really pisses me off is seeing groups of kids under say, 11 or so, put your own life at risk by all means, but don't let your children out there ffs. I get they'll be going stir crazy but it's grounds for social service involvement in my opinion. Some parents don't deserve kids - they just don't seem to give a feck. I've always thought that though, some of the things I've seen and heard would make the kiddy catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang weep.
