So that way you can transform and beat the crap out of everything including the last boss. The replay actually starts from the beginning, and you keep all your stuff when you restart so you don't regrind that much as more scenes open up to you as long as your d-ratio goes down(you also keep all your party xp). I also like how you can play through this multiple times to and get more scenes when you lower you D-ratio in each play through.
