I hear ya. I had one on the Mega Man 11 board. I got into a back-and-forth with another poster but, after that, if I even responded to anything said by other user, even in a friendly manner, it got taken down as "harrassment." It just got ridiculous. Eventually the other user stopped showing up so the issue stopped but he must have had a buddy with the mods. I think most of them try to be professional but clearly not always.

Hollow Knight's actually giving FF15 a battle! Go, lil Knight, go!

This poll is a perfect example of how no one actually knows what an RPG is anymore. Ask 10 people "What makes a game an RPG" and you get 10 different answers.

In the traditional sense, Dark Souls is not an RPG. It's main gameplay arc is real-time hack-and-slash style action, regardless of the various "RPG elements" involved in the equipment.

The skills required to master it are closer to God of War than they are to Pokemon. Saying Dark Souls is the same genre as a game like Chrono Trigger is borderline ridiculous since almost non of the skillsets involved in mastering those games intersect.

But, we're in an era where we slap "RPG" on almost everything (Horizon Zero Dawn!??) so people can always find ways to label all games as RPGs. The genre title has lost all meaning since it can apparently mean anything. People arguing in favor of it in this thread pretend that they know the "rules" for how the label works...but no one actually follows any guidelines. Genres are marketing tools now and nothing more.

Just saw the bracket. Really rough draw for Bayonetta against Link Between Worlds. LBW is way better than an 8-seed.

Also, Zero's Escape Virtue's Last Reward? Puzzles were nice but the plot was utter nonsense. Hard to say that deserve a nomination over better virtual novels like Ghost Trick.

Also Hollow Knight won a round but is likely dead against FF15. Nice to get some recognition since the game's fantastic.

PSO2 is literally 99% female. It's really rare to see dudes.

It's a lock that like 80% of those are male.

I think the overall data greatly overstates how many women actually regularly play games. Doing stuff like counting Moms buying games for their sons as "female purchases" and considering stuff like Solitaire to be "gaming" all twists the data a bit so they can pretend we're more diverse than we are.

This stuff is easily modded though so I guess modding for this obvious stuff is fine. Otherwise, It'd still be best if folks just mocked the troll until it went away.

Those things should always be dealt with swiftly.

I don't exactly see why text on a screen is such an emergency. Would be nice if people stopped pretending these things are such a big deal. We act like these are so bad but, because we act this way, we signal that it works and that we'll get more of it. The last thing these trolls want is to be ignored and yet it's rarely suggested as a solution.

Always seems like trolls show up, people take shots at the trolls, the trolls flag those posts and those users are removed but the trolls are too subtle to get removed themselves. My mistake. But it makes my point even further then. Just won't get the level of investment folks want with just volunteers. Personally I'd rather they just let the boards police themselves.

Mods here are 20-something part-timers who just want to deal with cases quickly for pay and don't want to deal with anything complicated.

That's just how it works and Gamefaqs doesn't have enough money to get better. Don't expect them to come save you here. And sometimes you get modded for something stupid by a mod who barely cares what actually happened...just deal with it and move on.

You'll get blank stares if you even try to explain it. There's a reason they've reduced the amount of times we can dispute stuff...they know it'll never get reversed.

Even with the new system it's still going to be a case of mods wanting to protect their own so they're going to side with each other...much like how refs in sports struggle with correcting their fellow refs on reviews.
