An easy albeit lazy way of describing it is Zootopia but way darker and in a school setting (but not stuck in the school setting)

More accurate would be a drama about coming to terms with yourself and society standards in the face of adversity. And there's death and sex and stuff. Anthropomorphic world which centers on students at an Academy and the fallout of an herbivore student killed by a carnivore student. And the relationships of a few certain individuals.

Or as the author has put it before, a human drama played by animal actors.

I was expecting this to come for a few rounds now, thought Mob might get out before it but honestly this is fine. I wasn't gonna do a NR for Beastars if it was it vs Mob for the final 2. My goal for Beastars was top 10 and top debut and I got those, there really was nowhere else for it to go with the powerhouses that are left. Thanks to Genny and charon, of course in an ideal world you guys would have said fuck Death Note because it'll get a decent placement regardless and have mained Beastars but regardless, Beastars would not have reached top 10 without you both so many thanks. Other thanks to Raka and Karo for throwing Beastars a save every round as well, Karo missed today it seems and only saved for Madoka, and red started throwing it a save these last few rounds.

Hopefully more people get around to watching it for next contest and enjoy the series as much as I do. It's the first series I actually started reading and got into when it was still a small fanbase and waaaaay before it was announced to get an anime, so it's extremely special to me. I've gone a bit wild as of lately and have the Japanese blu ray volumes and a really nice Legosi figure now in addition to the released manga volumes. I know voltch already doesn't feel crazy about the show but I definitely think it's a worthwhile watch, has a bunch of cool themes and characters in it. And the dub is actually pretty good! And it's on Netflix so hey (was in Netflix jail for multiple months unfortunately but now it's out and available). Season 2 here we come, there's gonna be a ton of great shit in it. Although it probably won't be out on Netflix international before the next Save My because of the aforementioned Netflix jail. Support simulcasts for Netflix!
