Not sure. I know there was that brief window on PC in which you could buy the ODST campaign alone and it was priced cheaper than Reach and the others, but I would imagine that anyone that bought the whole collection would it get it free.

You know, it really does suck that unlike forums from 20 years ago, the GameFAQs boards still don't allow mods to correct some minor violation without deleting the content outright. They could even still do a karma loss after correcting spoilers with no warning to incentivize the user to follow the rules.

I love how Doom has probably one of the most realistic shotguns in video games in that it is one of the few games where you can kill a human sized target in a single shot from far away.

And I already don't care. I worked with a PC gamer guy, and he was addicted to upgrading his machine. Always needed the newest graphics card, always tinkering with overclocking his system. Constantly upgrading his water cooling. I swear he spent more time taking his machine apart and fucking with it than actually playing games

Everything that guy did is pretty much unnecessary to play games on the PC at good settings and just feeds into the now dated view that it is ludicrously expensive and complicated to get into. Honestly, I would encourage you to not let any of the PC elitists with an abrasive attitude towards console gamers to drive you away from the platform.

Around 2010 or so, PC gaming became a better way to play games overall, even though it still has a few downsides compared to console gaming. The reason is that around that time a few things happened that made it easier to just play most games without any BS involved.

The first reason is that Windows 7 became widespread. Windows Vista had featured the ability to simply plug a 360 controller in and it would work without any additional configuration, just like on consoles. But since people kept using Windows XP, it wasn't until 7 caught on that the controller feature became widespread.

The second is that developers really began to rally around Steam that time, so you could have a nice interface with all your games in one spot with updates easily delivered to you.

Another is that HDMI cables and HDTVs made it easy to just play PC games on your couch or bed, or at least with a decent sized screen.

PC versions of games have also become less of a hassle to deal with on the technical side. The vast majority of the time you just launch the game after its been installed and it works fine; the horror stories about bad PC ports vary wildly in terms of just how bad the ports are and usually those are the exceptions, not the rules.

And the constant updating of hardware is, like I said, completely unecessary. That guy sounds like he was a try hard with an unhealthy obsession. I can tell you that I've been using the same $1500 rig for over 5 years now and have not been unable to play the latest games.

Nah, Adam has made an ass of himself by pushing some stock left wing talking points, but a lot of the right wing listeners of Joe Rogan that slammed him don't seem to want to admit that he has confronted left wingers on their bullshit beliefs as well.

Basically, I think that he just needs to be more mindful of the fact that he's just as susceptible to BS beliefs as anyone else.

They probably did the best they could with the movie. A lot of the shit in the book seemed unfilmable. The movie did leave out a whole subplot though that was the reason for the axe story at the beginning.

Yeah, if I remember right Paul Giamatti said in an interview that everyone involved with the movie knew from the very beginning that they were going to have to cut a lot from the book.

BOTW is good, but it's bland and lifeless compared to Witcher 3. The name alone is the only reason it is competitive with Witcher 3 or even Skyrim.

Yeah, the game still has some problems, but it's a ton of fun and there were some updates that fixed some issues. Like the ability to turn off the unfair quick time events in the campaign. Basically, if you toggle on the option to reload your gun by pressing the fire button when empty, turn off the campaign QTEs (quick time assist), and spend a few minutes practicing melee combat in The Mercenaries (which is essential to saving ammo in the campaign) before you delve into the campaign, the game is quite fun. Play the PC version if you can since it has The Mercenaries No Mercy mode with shit tons of enemies on screen at once and features the cast of Left 4 Dead 2 as playable characters
