It takes far more than quarantines to accomplish that, and it's already too late for that. If the graph were correct it would show more new cases daily for the non-quarantine scenario initially, but then you have more new cases (low, but more) with quarantine later once you've passed what would be the herd immunity point without quarantine.

How can you speak of 'very early' and 'few people' when there are no actual amounts specified on either axis? The graphs shows the general shape of the line, that's all. Seems like you're nitpicking a meme over nothing here.

That said, here's a real world example, Italy's new cases over time:



Initially the amount of new cases grew exponentially. Lockdown was put in place in Italy on March 10th. Give it a few days for incubation time, and a few more for symptoms to become severe enough to get tested. New cases peaked on March 21 and have been slowly declining since. The lockdown clearly worked in stopping the exponential growth of new cases.

What exactly is a "new" case? You can graph a total of the number of people infected now, or a total of the number of people infected ever, even those who recovered. This is wrong either way.

New cases = total amount of cases today minus total amount of cases yesterday (assuming days is the unit of time). Not sure what you're on about, you can easily plot graphs with new cases on the y-axis and in fact many health organizations do so.

This chart is way wrong. Quarantine measures reduce and delay the peak infection count and also delays the end of the disease spread, while the total number of cases is the same or only marginally reduced. This shows the no-action peak being later and the total number of infections being impossibly higher.

It says new cases on the y-axis, not total cases.

Yes you will keep your files. After the upgrade to 10 your license will be linked to a microsoft account. You can do always do a clean install later and activate it with your microsoft account.
