In 1-2 hours you can literally just buy every ship upgrade, material, etc you could ever need

And here we see blatant lying.

Go start a new character and show me your 2 hour play through not in sandbox with every ship upgrade material etc you'll ever need. And I'll buy a gift copy of nms and you can give it to whoever you want.

600 credits is going to buy that 12k multitool upgrade. When you find your first ship upgrade you'll spend an hour just getting the materials to get it to take off, which still leaves you with blocked spots because your starting inventory isn't enough to carry everything so you need multiple trips. And then you'll do the same for your suit upgrade. And rinse and repeat for 6-12 planters until you can ease off the grind.

Nms probably is a great game once you get the end game automation that removes the awful grind, I'll never experience, because getting to that point is awful.
