Like all things, it takes practice. Fire Stingray is one of the best. Also, depending on the angle the cars hit you from behind, you can use it to your advantage to get a speed boost (most useful at the start of the race with low acceleration cars).

Once you get to a high enough km/h, there really isn't much the other racers can do to you, so learn those tracks!

Yeah, IIRC, the reason Halo 1 Hunters are so easy is due to an oversight with how the game treats the Hunter's orange weak spot. Headshot capable weapons (pistol, sniper rifle) are able to instantly kill upon hitting a weak spot, and the game reads that orange weak spot the same way they'd read a headshot on a grunt (or unshielded jackal/elite).

EDIT: Even then, Hunter AI is very easy to evade, so they are a complete joke by themselves and are really only a threat if surrounded by other Covenant.

Will the remake be 3P? I know the original was only 2P, but there's patched versions out there that let you play 3P. I'll be disappointed if it's only 2P because "that's the way it was in the original".

There are a few cheese strats that can be used to eliminate some of Red's more problematic pokemon, such as countering Snorlax with a Misdreavus that knows mean look + perish song. You can also teach Misdreavus flash to navigate Mt Silver's 1st room easier.

In general, Gamefreak has a tendency to reveal a new pokemon to hype up a new gen, then making said pokemon prohibitively difficult to find.

Marril & Snubbull fit that bill, so do Munchlax and, IIRC, Zorua. Hey, at least Togepi was easy to find, though!
