I'm alive! Ish!

Neverwhere was quite fun! I didn't think I would like "urban fantasy" but if that's a representative sample I could go for more of it. I called the heel turns before they happened, which is always fun. Lots of interesting characters- I think Croupe and Vandemaar were actually my faves. Will likely Gaiman more in the future. ....But in the meantime, we're back on the Discworld train with Witches Abroad. Granny Weatherwax gambling is pretty great.

Started up another randomized SMRPG run! We started off strong, with our Geno getting what seems to be the rather common "punch things very hard and fast" spread going, and the first star in Croco 1's slot. Unfortunately, he couldn't take a magic hit to save his life....and when we rescued Mallow, he could take a magic hit but not do much else. I could eventually shuffle equips around to switch which was which, but I couldn't actually beat Kero Sewers at the proper time, because both Exor in the chest and Czar Dragon at the end could almost OHKO the party. I picked up Peach from the Forest Maze (Bowyer was actually in his own slot!) and the good news is she can equip the Super Suit, immediately taking her from fodder to solo-able. Feel like I'm not making great time but I'm also rusty on top of being a beginner.

I'm fairly picky about what I buy- my wishlist is massive, but I budget how much money I'm willing to spend, and only really go in when multiple games I'm actively excited for go on sale.

but that only helps so much when I'm progressing at a rate of like two years per game >_>

You too (a few days late)! This half-week has been a very nice and much needed break before the traditional December insanity kicks in.

Steam Sale time again! Picked up Luck be a Landlord, Caves of Qud, and Tanto Cuore, all three of which I'm pretty hyped for and all three of which seem more like "kill a half hour" games than "formally run through the queue" games. Have dipped my toe in on LBAL first, and it's exactly what I expected. I played a knockoff phone version, so I had a handle on the concepts and strategy already, but even with that head start I'm already having trouble clearing levels! Just got 4 last night and 5 this morning.

He did not, but it seems stylistically similar and they appear to have been friends

We actually watched the first ep of Good Omens because our friend who really likes it was over!

Cowboy Bebop ep1 is also....fine? I went in pessimistic but it feels like Bebop.

Marble League 2017 Q-2: Dang, Kobalts and Balls of Chaos not even qualifying! Team Primary, Midnight Wisps and Thunderbolts all top 5 though, so that's probably who I'll be focusing on this time.

Wrapped up Wyrd Sisters a while ago actually. Was about par for the Pratchett course! I liked Tom John, and Granny's always a good time.

It finally happened that the library didn't have any of the next Discworlds! I almost picked up Good Omens, but decided to branch out SLIGHTLY more and grab Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. It's a good time so far, even though it's outside my wheelhouse. I like all the characters except maybe Everyman Protagonist #8274729. The humor and stuff is still very Pratchett-y, and he even sneaked in a Widdershins reference! Anesthesia tho :\

We watched the first episode of Wheel of Time. I....think? I like it? It's a bit darker than I would prefer, and if the trolloc raid was that intense, I'm not sure I will make it through some of the later stuff, and Wifebolo's tolerance is probably lower than mine for live action carnage. I don't feel like Mat needed the super dark backstory and personality, or to be a *bad* gambler, or to look like he was 30. Rand is kinda punchable, but, y'know what, that's fair. I think everything else about the execution was pretty dang solid, I just like some of the creative license decisions more than others. I like that we have racial diversity, although somebody pointed out that it's a bit weird to have it within the fairly homogenous backwater Two Rivers community. I also find it a bit odd that our dark skinned black characters so far are Nynaeve, the mystic with a temper, and Padan Fain, who, is Padan Fain. I actually kinda liked giving Perrin a wife to kill off. It's a bit weak to just do a disposable wife like that, but I think it fits his character arc nicely. Rand boinking Egwene is an eye roller, but I can't act surprised that a TV adaptation would ratchet up the romantic/sexual drama. The change I'm actually kinda miffed about is that we don't know the Dragon's gender. That seems like a pretty major change to the dynamics of the world, just for the sake of what I assume is going to be a fakeout with Egwene or something. All in all, I still have the same cautious optimism with which I approached the trailer. Feel like we're in danger of trying too hard to be Game of Thrones, though.

We have knocked out the first box set of Ranma 1/2! Was kinda a holy grail show for me- random issues of the manga that I thought didn't have nudity (spoilers, they all did, but it got past my mom and me both at the store every time) were among my first ventures into the manga world, and practically a rite of passage for young trans weebs lol. I couldn't afford the anime as a kid, and couldn't find it as an adult, but half price books to the rescue! It was....everything I wanted it to be. We have some later seasons too, and the dub is on youtube, so I think we might be able to cobble together the whole show! Both Wifebolo and I are enjoying it greatly.

man that looks fun
also heck yea civ

Equal Rites: Beated, was quite fun!
Wyrd Sisters: I actually get to do two books in a row that make sense to be in a row? It's a Christmas miracle! I was hoping for more Esk, but I'll take more Granny, and we have a pretty interesting villain this time as well.

Disgaea 6: I'm still not sure how I feel about this one. I'm not opposed to games that play themselves by any means, but it just doesn't feel right for mainline Disgaea. (even if that will save me a lot of time) Everything just feels a little off and not that Disgaea-ish to me, which isn't NECESSARILY a bad thing but isn't also an immediate win like it should be. On the plus side, I love that ProZD and Hololive both get to be voice actors here!

ADOM: Got a better run going this time with a High Elf Monk that uses staves and bows. Can't seem to find any of my actual objectives, or anywhere to buy and sell stuff, but I'm killing lots of monsters!

you go little penguin dude!

ADOM: This is....exactly what I wanted it to be, a traditional roguelike with accessible graphics. Seems promising. I got to the first boss on tutorial mode but couldn't figure out a way to outpace his healing and he eventually debuffed me to death. roguelikes baybeeeeee. Not currently going in the regular rotation but might be the go-to "I just wanna screw around" game.

DorfRomantik: Also fun, also a good candidate for "just messing around." You put down a bunch of hexes, trying to match up terrains and fill quests. My only gripe is the instructions are pretty minimal, so there are a few things I don't actually fully grasp still.

Steam had the dreaded relevant-to-my-interests sale and I'd let money pile up in my Steam budget for a while and I need more games to ignore clearly so I went a bit nuts (by my standards) and got ADOM, Quantum Protocol, Curious Expedition, As Far As The Eye, and DorfRomantik. Bit of a roguelike mood >_>

I got my interest in my hobbies back and immediately got dogpiled with work so I'm still not managing to do any of them :D;; Might change after tonight tho.

Guards Guards beated, was good but not my fave. Kinda wanted more of the cult, but I appreciate that Death is voiced differently enough to make that bit work in audio. (even without the cool reverb) Carrot and Lady Ramkin are my faves from this batch, although I am hungry for more Vetinari.

But too bad because the most logical book I could find on this trip was Equal Rites, which I think was one of the big points in the recent "was Pratchett down with trans people" spat. On a related note I really like Esk. On an unrelated note, there's a woman reader this time and she's doing a fantastic job with it so far.

one of these days they'll have the next threebody or cosmere, maybe

Guards Guards: "The existence of a cure was seen as encouraging slackness, and probably against nature's way anyhow." man. Also lol the Dirty Harry bit. Also Lady Ramkin is a fave.

LP Spyro 3-5: Roahm made the first world look easy, but the puzzles are getting a bit more obtuse. The flight stage is pretty cool, and 100%ing that looked like the first challenging action sequence. Game is still pretty charming, so I'm enjoying it!

Watched the new Pony movie! Wound up liking it after all, although I still prefer the old art style. Bit on the nose with the messaging lol. Zipp and Izzy are my faves I think. I'll probably wind up giving the series a shot, although it might not jump the queue like FIM did.

Oh, is it just a movie? I was kinda not paying much attention since the art style really isn't my thing, but I could put up with it for a movie (as opposed to like six seasons >_>) if it gets the seal of approval

One of these days I am going to get super into Shining Force. It's taken years to get around to it, but it's coming I tells ya.

Guards Guards: These CDs are in rough shape so I'm losing a bit of the story, but hey neat it's dragon time!

Guards: Honestly I could've gone for a whole book of the cult at the beginning just hanging out lampshading tropes! Carrot's interesting enough too though.

RoahmMythril plays Spyro, videos 1-2: So I have always wanted to watch more of this dude, but never quite got around to it. I might still have not if he hadn't somehow won one of the polls somewhere in there! He mostly plays Mega Man stuff, and I thought about watching one of those instead, but MMBN I kinda want to play myself, and MM proper seemed less interesting for an LP. But yeah, Spyro always looked up my alley but I never tried it. Roahm's a comfy, informative type, and likes challenge runs. Also dragons.

Apollo Justice: What's the cool way to shorthand cases anyway, like "4-1" or something? I wasn't expecting Olga to have a costume change, but I, uh, like it. This is a lot more intriguing than I remember first cases being! I have a vague idea of why Phoenix is a poker guy instead of the main character, but what I don't know is what he's trying to do here.

Deltarune: I gotta hurry this one up before the internet spoils me! I'm approaching the city now. I immediately love Queen- big homestuck vibes and I love a good ojou laugh. They got a Homestar reference in there! I am having fun with all the minigames but I hope I can come back later to 100% them and finish out some recruits. So far everything is very fun and very comfy....but I don't expect that to last forever.

Watched an ep of She-Ra with Wifebolo, loved it. Don't have a spot in the rotation for it, and Wifebolo wasn't as into it, so it won't show up right away but expect it eventually.

Disgaea 6: Almost pivoted to Fata Morgana, but let's let my mental health recover just a bit more before piling on the dark stuff. I carried over stuff from the demo, so I am starting at chapter 2 not remembering much of what was going on, or what the new mechanics were. Got DLC, so I can use Hololive and random D2 people, so that's the important thing lol. I'm....not sure how I feel about auto battles- it's a lot faster, but even in a phone game there's a limit to how much I want to sit there while the game plays itself. Jury's out. The graphics and presentation just feel kinda off, somehow, and it's weird how big the numbers are right off the bat. Story still seems like a Disgaea game, but I'm not hooked on the rest of it yet. Except for the fact that I can have Watame and ProZD on my team.

before that, I got distracted by Mario Picross on the SNES thingy

Apollo Justice: Boy, "Turnabout Trump" is sure a thing that we could title my first case since like 2015. I know a few random spoilers, most of them minor except for the twist of the first defendant. That's probably a big moment for most! ....Does Payne have MORE hair than before? Olga seems too cute to be the murderer, but so did Dahlia I guess. I do really wonder what Phoenix's game is here!

Going Postal: Man he just keeps doubling down, geeze! Also I have Guards Guards on deck, woo.

ALRIGHT SO. As I've alluded to on occasion, the past year or two has had a lot of low points for my mental health. I've attributed a lot of slowness on my games and shows and stuff to that (and the pandemic, and politics, and cracking my egg and coming out, and...) but...that's gotten a lot better, and I'm still responding to a lot of my ongoing media like I'm still depressed. BUT, as a few things have shown recently, I don't have that issue with doing *new* stuff. My working theory is that now I have some bad associations with some of it, and/or am just burned out on a bunch of things at once. SO, I am going to replace a lot of the stuff in my rotation and see if that goes better! It's like a reboot! The stuff I'm yeeting gets first dibs on coming back, but only if I'm feeling it after a break.

SMASH and FIRE EMBLEM are cut for DISGAEA 6 and either Ace Attorney or Fata Morgana, depending mostly on logistics. They have a decent chance of coming back, especially FE.

Watching through MGS4 is cut for a RoahmMythril LP yet to be determined. Owe that from a poll.

DISGAEA 2 and TRAILS SC are cut for DELTARUNE and WILDERMYTH. They both have a good shot at coming back, and they'll skip the Steam Battle if they do, but before that I owe Chrono Trigger a play.

GUNNERKRIGG COURT is cut for RAIN. It will almost certainly come back. Tricky part will be figuring out where I was on Girl Genius and OotS for catchup purposes, since I lost my sheet with that info.

Several other things that don't get writeups are also shifting, like board games and phone games. See also the B8WL topic, probably.

Aria 3-5.5 I guess: That Little Secret Place...: Akatsuki stalks Akari, Alice and Aika stalk him in turn. Lots and lots of ship bait; feels kinda sudden but maybe that's just because I took a couple months off lol. Would've put Akatsuki with Aika or Alicia, personally, and left Akari single/uninterested, but they're cute and I'll allow it. I elevator pitched this show the other day as "a tourism ad anime for a place that doesn't exist" and this episode fit that mold even more than most as they wandered around the town and soaked it in.

Rain: I am starved for good trans rep, so when I saw a thread about that, I picked this webcomic out of the bunch and have been archive binging it real hard. It's just slice of life high school romance/comedy/drama with a bunch of mostly-queer teens trying to figure out themselves and the world and each other. What draws me is that it hits that sweet spot where the characters are realistic and flawed and relatable, but not SO flawed that they aren't likeable. They make mistakes, relationships don't work out, people don't magically accept or understand every LGBTQ+ concept as soon as it's introduced to them, but they're still good kids. (and some good adults and a couple villains) The feel good moments feel good, the humor lands, and the gut punch moments make me cry sometimes. And you could pick pretty much any two characters (in the same age bracket) out of a hat and I'd ship it. I'm still like seven years behind but would solidly recommend to anybody to whom it sounds interesting. (with a warning that the art is, well, it suffices to tell the story)

Going Postal: This was always likely, but we're officially heading into a trope territory that I kinda enjoy: somebody pretending to do something until they realize they actually are doing it voluntarily. Undercover agents that get attached to their targets, couples that start out by only pretending to be a couple, and in this case, Moist getting actually invested in getting the post office on track while going on about how he's just swindling everybody. Also Carrot Ironsomething made a cameo but I haven't met him yet lol.

Deltarune Ch2: Let's GOOOOOOOO. I didn't get very far before bedtime (we JUST got to what I assume is the main environment for this chapter) but there are some interesting-looking mechanics and world-building implications to tickle my brain. Plus it's just really nice to see everybody again. I missed Susie and Ralsei, apparently. I've liked everything up until now but I have a feeling this one's gonna hit different.

They are all quite nice I think! So far at least.

Gunnerkrigg Ch 25-26: The Jeanne backstory was short but poignant, dang. Also it's funny because there was an Antimony in Going Postal but he was a man.

Going Postal: I particularly enjoyed the secret order initiation ritual.

Wifebolo randomly snagged a used copy of Civilization Revolution for DS for me. There are some aspects of the main line that I miss, but some that I'm glad to see streamlined a bit. I think the streamlining and dearth of options and scenarios will kill the replay value (relative to other Civs, at least) but I'll probably get a good couple games out of it.

We (mostly Wifebolo but I was there for most of it) finished Deep Space 9! I think it might actually be my favorite Trek so far. (competing with ToS and TNG, but all three are quite good) Lots of strong character work and interaction, even by Trek standards, and Sisko is every bit as cool as Kirk and Picard, which surprised me. Also lots of jazz for some reason!

Wildermyth: Still really like this. I'm on my second campaign now, rolling up myself, my wife, and a friend (Pez/Herring) as my party but supplementing it with Legacy people that pop up. That's pretty fun! Wifebolo is weeeeirdly accurate in her personality, and I have a dumb looking wolf head and a permanent injury, now. This time we're dealing with uprisings of steampunky golemy dudes.

Going Postal: Nice to have a book that's more than like three CDs long, lol. "Eldritch Post Office" is not a combo I would've come up with, but that's why he's Terry Pratchett and I'm not; let's see where it goes. I really like the cast this time around- Mr. Pump just called Moist out on his crap, and Stanley is making me want to collect pins myself.

Eric: Was pretty okay! I was tickled by the corporate Hell and the parrot's "Wosname." Library didn't have the next Rincewind or Threebody or Cosmere, or the first Death, so I am shifting over to a different Discworld with Going Postal. This one might take more than a week :O

Wildermyth: A B8er who may or may not want credit randomly gifted me this. I was just gonna mess around a bit to check it out, but it really got its hooks in me right off the bat! Looks like it will scratch my recent itches for procedural storytelling and character building, as well as my ongoing love of replay value and interesting teambuilding mechanics. I'm digging the comic book/papercraft visual presentation, and the monsters that feel like they came from RWBY. I don't know how much of what I've seen is procedural and how much is scripted, but the story has managed to hook me regardless, and feels like "mine." One of my starting people retired to become a seer! Another lost an arm and got it replaced with a sword! A new guy got possessed by a gorgon and is showing lingering effects! The magic system is pretty sweet too- you connect to parts of your environment and channel attacks through them. (I've spent a lot of time blowing up furniture at monsters, so far) As I continue to kinda shake off some of my mental fog and burnout, this is the first time I have been this excited about a game in a whiiiiiile. It doesn't have an official "slot" in the rotation but don't be surprised if it shows up a lot anyway.

I picked up Mark Out! now that it's in early release. It has a lot of cool ideas and nice polish for early access, but the core gameplay leaves a lot to be desired for now- there appears to be a breaking strategy of "take one hit, then counter everything until opponent mills," and there don't seem to be many interesting gameplay decisions even if you don't just decide to be a cheesy turtle. It feels odd to say "everything but the core gameplay is great, so I'm excited to see what they do with it later," but it's a card game so all that really needs to happen is to make some more mechanically interesting cards and incentivize people to, y'know, actually play them. On the plus side, there's a lot of interesting modding stuff. I took it very seriously:

Sourcery: Sometimes a setting or scenario will kinda tickle my creative urges, but I don't really have an outlet for it. Like I want to make/run/play a game or write a story with that as a jumping off point, but can't figure out any specifics beyond "that's a cool setting." The mage wars that we are alluding to and trying to prevent are one such setting, with all the mages creating these towers and carving out territory and taking each other out. Anyway, beated. This was solid! New characters, an actual plot, good stuff. Eric is next up.

Lucha 1-32: Puma/Mundo All Night Long for the title. Doesn't get much better than that, I reckon! The episode-length Ironman is a pretty cute gimmick, too. Konnan is conspicuously absent, but I was convinced he was gonna turn last time so what do I know. Slam through a wooden box, haven't seen that before! Striker has a dig at Hornswoggle. Crowbar to Puma's dome, daggum! Mundo gets to a 4-1 lead off that, which seems like a wide gap even with how early it is. Mundo hangs out with the band and has them play a song, and then Puma El Kabongs him, good stuff. (followed by a spear off the roof through four tables!) I haven't seen many ironman matches, so I don't know what tropes are common, but I appreciate Mundo just straight up running away lol. Alberto runin....and promo? Title picture is more crowded than B8WL, man. Puma over, excellent match. (****)

Maniac64 posted...
Do you usually do the anime or manga?

Have only tried manga for One Piece- seems less intimidating that way.

Discworld: Have finished up Light Fantastic and moved on to Sourcery, which I particularly like so far. We have an overarching plot this time, which was one of my big hangups so far, although I still have a shorter attention span than I used to and it's still a book where if I space out for ten seconds we're in a completely different location with a half dozen new characters whose introduction I missed. Still, this is now officially a series I can get into, I think. (which seems odd to decide on book 4, but they're really short!) I'd still rather be doing more Cosmere or Three-body, but these will work nicely until I can track those down. I miss Twoflower but it's nice having Kanina around, and Coin seems interesting.

Eva 3.33+1.01/7 Days and Knuckles: Not gonna lie, all it did for me was trigger a mild bout of depression. Visuals and music were on point as ever. Plot was inscrutable and inserted into its own orifices as ever. I wound up not really caring about *any* of the characters by the end- usually I can at least kinda enjoy Rei and Misato. Shinji is still A Bit Too Real, Man. Ending seemed a bit out of left field, but I will happily take "a bit out of left field" over....whatever the others had. The gratuitous fanservice level would have made me uncomfortable even if I was much younger and more hormonal. All in all, it was....another Eva reboot, albeit with a nice fresh coat of paint. Mental health stuff that I get enough of in my daily life, Russo swerves, and random deep dive Christian jargon. I ain't into it but I don't begrudge people who are, and it was nice to see what the franchise could do with an actual budget behind it.

Things are looking up IRL, which hasn't yet translated to my getting back to any of my shows or games or anything, but life is good despite...*gestures vaguely at the world*

Jam, summer's over already! Kinda got away from me. Well, with school starting back up, at the very least there'll be audiobooks to write up!

The Light Fantastic: It's a good time so far, but it kinda feels like the first one in that it kinda feels like a bunch of short stories rather than a cohesive whole. But at least they're entertaining? It also seems like we might actually wind up with an overarching plot, too, with the whole saying all the Eight Spells.

Les Mis: Marius still creepin'.

Disgaea 2: Just a quick Subpoena run! Turned off animations in the interest of finishing this decade.

Trails SC: Had to google where the stone circle was, lol. Tough miniboss and then I triggered a mimic right after lol, but we made it!

Eva 1.11, 2.22, and 3.33: Felt like the first two were pretty good, and then 3.33 went back to good ol' ???? territory. Kinda an interesting divergence though! But man I wish it could be clearer about what is happening and why and how.

Chesslocke: Getting the hang of it! Starting to wonder if there's an ending, but for now there are still kinda interesting levels.

Glitch sounds sucky D: And yeah, I think there is some sort of hardware issue because even a factory reset didn't help. It's one of two internal drives, and I haven't had the computer more than a few months (and my old one is still serviceable in a pinch), so thankfully it's not AS much data loss and inconvenience as it could be.

Finally got around to the steam sale, and picked up: Calico, 5D Time Travel Chess, Super Ledgehop, Dominions 4, ChessLocke, Cherry Tree Fight Club, QP Shooting, and Hero Generations Regen. Tried Hero Generations, and....couldn't really get into it, I dunno. On paper it seems like my kinda thing, but it just never really clicked, possibly because I never really got to a point where I felt like I was making much progress. ChessLocke is interesting so far though.

Among the things I have (probably) lost in the hard drive crash is my backlog doc of games and stuff :( So next time I have a Steam slot I'll just have to pick from the 0 playtime games instead of hitting them in order!

The Rest of Marble League 2016: Daaaaang, the Savage Speeders came back at the end! I wish they would give us just a tiny bit longer to look at scores and such and parse the implications. Looks like 2017 is next! I'll probably stick with this for the forseeable future but I might skip a few projects.

Am trans, if anybody missed that topic.

Have to send computer off for repairs. >:\ Have backed up everything I could, and my old computer is serviceable in the interim, but it's still a pain! (also the old computer really seems to be in bad shape, which is why it's the old computer I guess)

FE: Still chuggin' along nicely, starting to be able to promote some dudes. I want to see the rest of this game quickly so I can move on to Pokemon Snap and/or Disgaea 6!

Smash: Dracula's Castle was fun but I'm kinda glad to be done with it. I think I'm close to the end but I've thought that for like the whole pandemic.

Gunnerkrigg 23-24: Okay but Parley and Smitty. Also: LASER COWS.

Aria 3-5- That Keepsake Clover...: Aika is bummed out that she and Akira don't seem to have standout talents compared to their counterparts. Akira comforts her with a story about how Aika actually as a kid inspired Akira to make up for talent with hard work. Lots of quality Akira content here, and Aika gets to tell *herself* no sappy lines allowed.

FE: Decided to go ahead and run through at least once more. Hopefully between NG+ bonii and an easier difficulty and turning off attack animations and already having read a lot of the cutscenes at the beginning, it goes a bit faster now! We're Golden Lions this time, and my early inclination is to shoot for Claude or Raphael as husbando.....although I already have Mercedes and Dorothea back and they're tempting. Kinda nice how much of last game's crew was immediately recruitable, although I'm still going to try to focus a bit more on the actual group.

Smash: Still chuggin' along in Adventure, no big moments.

LU 1-31: Drago? Chavo and the Crew take out Blue Demon in a runback of the first match. (**1/2) Drago! I thought Sagrada/Pimpanella/Bengala were here to get squashed, but they get their spots in against the debuting Disciples of Death before losing. (**1/2) Mundo/Puma for the entirety of next ep? Drago/Cuerno/They Call Him Cage/Hernandez for a shot, and Drago's mask! Nothing like a heel/heel/heel/tweener match. Some kinda scary dives, and Killshot creeping for some reason. Drago wins off a flash pin. (***) Catalina bullies Cueto into giving Muertes a shot at Drago for the shot. They really like #1 Contender Just Kidding stips here, lol.

I vote for the games!

Les Mis: Marius is in a different spot than I am but I still find him kinda relatable....up until the point where we spend like ten pages talking about how hot Cosette(?) is at 15 and he, a 20 year old, crosses into stalker territory. Wack.

Picked up Light Fantastic! ....Not sure when I'm gonna listen to it now that I'm not commuting, lol.

Sonic Vol 8: Maybe not as out of the park as last time, but still quite fun! This was kinda transitional, with some side stories from the previous arc, and a quick bit of filler before the next one.

Jem Vol 4: A new artist started. I did not enjoy her. But hey we're almost done anyway!

FE: BEATED. Haven't decided whether I want to do the other routes yet or not- seems like a shame not to do NG+, but the Switch backlog ain't getting any shorter. Was a fun game! Was kinda hoping NG+ would let me carry over a tiny bit more so I could speed through, lol.

Fuzzy Nation: I saw this tweener-face turn coming a mile away, but I wasn't expecting to get a Sanderson Avalanche alongside it! This would be a solid ending....which is good because apparently this set is missing the next to last disc, so that might be the end lol.

LP Stardew 59: https://youtu.be/BUCiI6kFqRk

Dawnshard 8-9: The intrigue intensifies, and Rysn might be able to move more freely soon!

It's summer! Less audiobook, more everything else. Ideally.

Dawnshard 3-5: Rysn and The Lopen? HECK yes. Sadly we missed out on adding Rock, but hey this Cord person is probably cool too. ...oh good, more bug people or whatever.

Gloomhaven: I'm starting to get a little annoyed with the exhaustion mechanic- I played a map that had a "survive 10 turns" goal and burned no extra cards and took barely any damage and one of my dudes still didn't make it, just because 10 turns is a lot of cards to play. Other than that I'm still having a good bit of fun.

Fuzzy Nation: This story beat or two has been fairly predictable, but the writing style is enjoyable.

LP MGS4 18-2: Not much up this time, just sneaking.

Fuzzy Nation: The main character has a dog, there's a "cat thing" that seems important, and both of those have gotten more focus than most of the humans so far. I'm okay with this.

Dawnshard 2: Nice to get into Rysn's head a bit more, and nice to see Navani. A peek at the next page seems to indicate The Lopen POV, so I am hyped for that!

Marble League 2016 4-9: A lot of my teams are struggling, but Thunderbolts are in the running! I think my favorites are the various long races, as they lend themselves to a bit more drama. Looking forward to when they start playing up the lore and atmosphere a bit more.

Lathe of Heaven: Done! Ending seemed a bit abrupt, somehow, even though there wasn't really anything left to do. It kinda makes me want to apply the concepts to an RPG or story or something, which I reckon is a mark in its favor.

Fuzzy Nation: The last of the "just grab me something" batch, which I thought I wasn't going to get to. This is apparently a remake/update of Little Fuzzy, but I haven't heard of either. Read by Wil Wheaton!

Dawnshard Ch 1: Oh neat, Rysn's back!

Gunnerkrigg Ch 21-22: Some flashback stuff, but the real winner was CITY FACE.

Disgaea 2: Did a lot of equip shuffling and dark assembly, and was able to barely squeak past the level I'd been stuck on, woo. Probably could've won a bit easier without some silly mistakes I made, so I'll try to keep moving forward for a bit. Disgaea RPG on mobile has me in the mood for the real thing!

Lathe of Heaven: It took a while, but it's grabbed me now. Parallel universes and such always interested me, and the way they are done here is interesting. Also some neat character development- we're approaching the end and we only really know three characters, but we've done fairly deep dives on all three. Approaching the end, and I'm enjoying the chaos.

Dawnshard Prologue: Hey, a hold finally came in! Forgot (or never realized) it was an ebook rather than an audiobook so that'll be different. I'll do a chapter a day. Good to see Yalb again! Knew I recognized that name.
