Mass Effect 2 came out on January 2010. Gow3 wasn't that great. They didn't nominate it because its the weakest in the Trilogy most likely. I'm a huge GoW fan. GOw 3 is the weakest out of all 4 mainline games(not including the handheld and Ascension games). Still a good game. But not as good as any of the others or popular.

The release of ME2 changes nothing I said. God of War III feels like a 00s game because it was part of a trilogy of quite similar games where the other two are PS2 games.

I don't think you're right that it's less popular than the others. From my impression, the trilogy is quite consistent in popularity and I don't think there's any noticeable difference to them in that regard.

The fourth game surely overshadowed it in terms of nominations though.

I remember saying I thought Skyward Sword might miss the bracket similar to how ALBW did it in 2015 and people were like "what are you talking about".

It's a really diverse bracket. Genuinely surprised only one Pokmon game made it in.

Brawl > Majora (or FFX) was a good pick back in the day. I went with it, because Majora was nowhere near as praised as BotW, in fact being one of the lesser praised Zelda games. Plus, in that contest, older games and franchises weren't as dominating as now. Brawl would have won probably if it wasn't controversial among the fanbase.

Ultimate > BotW seems like a similar pick. Ultimate is well liked enough to not get the same backlash that caused Brawl to lose. But BotW is too strong.

So yeah, only insane outside rally can stop it and I'd say it's quite unlikely.

Yeah, I think XY and SM were the best selling 3ds titles for a while and then near the end, MK7 just went past them and didn't really stop.

I'm not sure about beating GS. They sell faster every generation it seems, but perhaps if they market the DLC right.

The Switch is past SNES now and moving forward at great pace.

I would be cool with people posting about whatever, if they didn't appear to be so defensive about it, which not all of them have been. Except that I don't understand that all the comments about making a different topic were just ignored. Yes, this is a message board and not his funeral, but it's kinda as if you came into a room with these points where people were mourning and they asked you to take the discussion to the room next to it instead, but you just wouldn't.

I'm not even sure that's true. Jigglypuff was one of the last characters added to Brawl. It's why it wasn't in the SSE.

IIRC both Jigglypuff and Ness were considered to be cut in Melee. But I think cutting Jigglypuff in Brawl would've done much less damage than doing it after 5 games.

I didn't play 3H, but I wanted to ask, why not Edelgard? she has a 3000 times better design than either Byleths, she is far more popular (read her name mentioned far more than any other) and from what I read she is well written
She is also making it to the final in this board "best new character" contest

Is just just because Byleth has the "male and female forms" thing?

I have no idea about popularity of TH characters, but they had probably decided on Byleth before the release, so popularity couldn't be taken into account.

I think despite what we see from the hardcore fan base, picking the main character of a FE game is probably the best approach, which I don't think is the case with Pokmon. No one, casual or not, would wanter want the player character in over a Pokmon. Helps that you can't really create movesets for the trainers, so the trainer was just three Pokmon instead.

I'm happy enough with this. I have yet to play Three Houses, so I wasn't excited, but it's reasonable and Byleth looks good.

They're putting in a main character from one of their biggest new releases. A lot of popular characters have sword. Our old beloved most popular characters here was 4/9 sword users. Such it is.

And Byleth looks different enough.
